This live performance is an absolute masterpiece. I don't know whether to smile or cry. I think I'll do both. God I do love these talented ladies so much.
I noticed that right before Kanami begins the solo Miku is playing the guitar part. In an earlier concert, I think 2019, Kanami did it all. I can't specifically point to other songs, but I noticed during the 4 concerts I saw in the US, that Miku has taken over a lot of parts to let Kanami be more creative. It didn't drastically change the sound of the song, but I love seeing that Miku has progressed so much that she is able to take over some of the parts. Miku keeps getting better, I'm so proud of her. You know, the day will come when we will be able to see Miku shred as well. She has the best sensei.
Love this clip! Everyone is amazing! ... Another reviewer mentioned how much Kanami's hands are moving, when they don't have to. And then, he was like, "Oh, she's pulling off to let the sound ring out, a la AC/DC." ... Just like me, you sound like a proud parent, "Hey, is that Miku?" 🙂
The word is that Kanami purposely hit a bum note to distract from the suspicion that she is an Alien Rock Goddess gracing us mere mortals with her presence. Normally I'd call that as BS but when it comes to Kanami it's got me thinking it could be true. Cheers from Oz and VIVA the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻 anothe
I adore them all, bow to their charm and musicianship, and will fight anyone who dismisses them, but I like Kanami the most. It's her Buddha-serene expression of confidence on her face when she performs that knocks me out. I think she truly mastered the zen of emptiness reflected by her effortlessly appearing guitar playing.
Miku looks like she enjoys playing guitar now and tbh they wouldn't be the same without her. She is the heart and soul of Bandmaid. So endearing with her bow legs and pigeon toes.
I was already a fan when I first saw the old video for Puzzle live. And Kanami had been who I focused one previously just because she is so good. But when I saw the video I was blown away by Saiki's voice and how she literally put every emotion she had into the song. That is when I realized why Miku wanted her in the band. IMO one of the best new singers out there. Incredible voice only getting better.
Miku has a great tone here - nice and thick and distorted. She leaves Kanami free to do her normal madness. And it seems to me like Miku and MISA are joined at the hip - like the leading to the solo, Miku starts it and then MISA joins and adds the bottom to it. Just beautiful.
@@armynurseboy I suspect that Miku's Zemaitis has a strong part to play in her tone as well. It's certainly lovely thick and juicy - the tone that is. :)
The new Blu-Ray sounds really, really good - when I first put it on and you could hear the normal pre-show crowd chatter, it was like you were right there in the middle of the crowd. And clarity of sound is fantastic throughout the disc. If I had one complaint it would be that MISA's part could be a little more distinct in the mix, but overall the sound, and it goes without saying, the performance is fan-freaking-tastic!!
That little riff right before kanami’s solo used to be done by Kanami…. It’s great that Miku now does it. Shows how far she’s come and how much Kanami trusts her
I thought thing on those two triplets. It's faint in the studio version and the 2017 LIVE show only Kanami played it, but this show she brought all the girls in on the triplets....sounded great!
I have been comparing Miku from live 2017(Shinkiba) to this,we all know how far she has come as a guitarist, but this blew me away, and it's Kanami's fault I went down the pigeon hole,on this song live at Shinkiba Studio Coast Tokyo '17,it was an ugly cry moment, the guitarist and band I had been searching for, always beautiful reviews, thank you Champ.
And of course it sounds much better on the bluray than on UA-cam (logical). The bluray sound is both wide and punchy (it's rare, it's often one or the other) and very clear. Very good work (I would have loved a little more Misa in the bass spectrum but the separation between her bass and the bass drum is very effective).
Miku's backing vocals make this song for me. Saiki pours so much emotion into her singing, and then Miku doubles down on that with her wails, you can feel the protagonist's pain and desire, it's beautiful.
This song, the guitars primarily steal the show, and you can see Saiki's outstanding performance here. Nevertheless, look deeper and you realize the MISA and Akane were truly amazing too, just incredible. I'd go as far as to state that the song actually sounds completely epic mainly due to these two! Of course, that's just the opinion of a wee little fan, and I'd be appreciative if a discussion follows on how my viewpoint might be wrong (or even correct).
The concert came alive when this was played. I thought Saiki's voice sounded tired throughout much of the concert, particularly not quite hitting and/or sustaining the high notes - she did pretty well on this song considering. Also, it's so clever separating the lines in the final verse.
I found that Saiki's vocals were a little flat for a good chunk of the original live broadcast and although I haven't compared it with the video releases, I'm pretty sure they did a little post-production on her vocals for the DVD/Blu-ray... which I totally understand.
@@motley22crue Yes, they've done exactly that before. On previous broadcasts, there were occasional songs where she was flat on the high notes and they reprocessed it for the DVD/Blu-ray.
Maybe...I didn't notice because her voice was so powerful, both vocally and emotionally live. Just being there myself and witnessing it was magical. People around me at the concert was also commenting how powerful and great Saiki's vocal was...or have become.
I still think (by just a little) the 2017 Studio Coast performance and playing of Puzzle feels better overall. It has more musical impact for me. It's also like the audio and mix at the Garden is harsh digital, and Studio Coast is satisfying vinyl. And the audience weren't masked or asked not to sing or yell (because of COVID restrictions). Thx, Champ!

It's pretty accurate to the studio version all right
Hi! Champ, thank you for your wonderful reaction again. However, your face looked tired, and I was a bit worried that your right cheek and mouth were swollen. Please take care of yourself.
@@TheChampOfMedium That is a possibility. I did notice 4/30/23 GG podcast that you didn't have that look/condition anymore. Though stroke tends to make it droop versus not moving.
It wasnt one note, the other was corrected for this version, u actually prefer the original live version that had like two errors since you know its live

Absolutely my favorite version of Puzzle, RIGHT HERE. Miku is captivating, Kanami is straight up heroic. Really, really World Class!💪🏻🤘🏻

pretty sure I'm the band's uncle
I am always thinking Saiki breath. She hardly gets a break. Same for Kanami. Non-stop.

MIKU's background vocals!!!
they get better every performance

Gotta love to see the progress... sounded perfect. And I think i like that riff with Miku's tone better.
I hadn't heard this off-note from Kanami, you really have golden ears. And you've been a strong, strong reactor so far. Didn't expect less.
How can Kanami be so perfect ? - skill level, - Japanese

Miku's harmony vocals are outstanding and she finally gets a short lead guitar solo...OK, chord lead, but still...ya know?
It's a riff, not a solo but she did pretty well indeed 👍

@Fume Z I heard others that attended the concert also talk about how great Saiki sounded
I wonder if they've rewritten Miku's parts in their early songs to take advantage of her growing skill.
This song yes, earlier version was more MISA with also no Miku guitar. 2016.
I knew some stuff sounded different, chat was telling me it was the same and i was like nahhhhh
Same thing with Play. The call and response used to be between MISA and Kanami, but the newer version was MISA and Miku.
Saiki just killed this song

Blu-ray TGT concert and BTS US Tour 2020 were both excellent. I felt so sorry for Kanami at the end of the US tour, but she pulled through like a pro.
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃
If you were only allowed one song to showcase Maid Rock...this would do fine 👌👊🤘🤘🤘
Hard to disagree there

KANAMI.
