(Accidentally deleted my comment… doh!) I think what happened with Super Mario World is correct. When you save and restart, you always start as mini Mario and 5 lives. Emulation save states should prevent that. Love these emulation solutions, by the way, despite the somewhat questionable legality. This one has a nice form factor too. FPGA (Mister) could be worth looking into although it’s a bit pricey!
To play your N64 analogue you need to go into the game you're playing and then go into your retro arch settings select controller and turn the analogue option to "none" it will then work. Cheers happy gaming
I love these little devices. A great way for ease of access for casual gamers to dip into old libraries. And if more casual gamers went this way, the vintage market for collectors would maybe drop back down to reasonable levels. Shame you haven't accessed the mighty Speccy library yet. Just got this and OH MAN, WHAT A BLAST! Maybe you can answer a question. On the Atari 800 system is a game “Conan” it was an old 5-1/4 floppy game and you have to flip the floppy halfway through loading. I only have the two controllers and none of the buttons work for that command. Any suggestions?
Excellent question - which I unfortunately don't know the answer to! However, I would try the individual shoulder buttons, or either the R1/L1 buttons pressed together, or the R2/L2 pressed together. One of those worked for flipping discs on the Famicom Disk System, so maybe it's the same idea for the Atari 800? Best of luck!

Hopefully you are still reading/answering comments…I played Tecmo Super Bowl on nes and have used save slots. I’ve finished the game months back and now I want to play it again… however it thinks I’m still continuing the game due to save slots. Is there a way to completely erase the save slots and play the game over from the start?
Hmm. If you're using the in game save slots, I think you can reset from the playoff brackets. Go to schedule, it should show the playoff brackets. Hit A or B and it will take you to the screen showing week 17. Hit A and bring up the menu, scroll down to reset, and that should wipe everything out. I'm not sure beyond, that, though. I hope that helps!
I’ve been wanting to get this for a year now but what’s holding me back is the tons of negative reviews on Amazon. I wouldn’t want to spend $125 on a device that wouldn’t work properly. I’ve also read some positive reviews and that they’re very happy with it. It’s like taking a big risk for your money if you ever decide to buy this.
I'm not regretting the super console X3 plus.... Tons of options and 64 works good. You actually have all the buttons. Unlike the Pandora's box saga 3D . With 30k games. ... Only down fall is PlayStation has no music background .. I got it for 140 on cyber Monday I love it .114k games is more than. I could ever play.
The only issue I seem to have with my console is that certain games don't save properly, for instance Pokemon Pinball on GBC saves automatically and has all the proper data when loaded, but pokemon crystal, yellow and blue so far won't keep their save files, as soon as I restart the game there's nothing there. N64 games don't save whatsoever and don't even offer an option to 'save state' in the settings.
I learned how to add and delete roms by popping the SD card in my phone but, how do I delete the emulators itself. For instance I don't need or want the virtual boy or most of the Atari s because everything is doubled. I would rather put more Dreamcast roms on it or psp.

Some stuff works fine out of the box, though a lot of games seem to have issues with mapping controls in lots of weird ways. In both golden eye and perfect dark you can't access the settings so you can't make the controls usable. Setting up a second control isn't easy. Some games just don't work. If your lucky maybe 1 game in 5 will work fairly easily. It's quite a lot of work to get quite a lot of the games working. Mega drive games seem pretty reliable though
Im really hoping you are still looking at comments. Every controller i connect besides the garbage ones that it comes with the start button will not work. Ive configured till im blue in the face I've tried different models. So i cannot return to menu or use the save/load state or even pause. I could really use some help.

From what I've seen, the save game will work, assuming you don't create/load a save state that doesn't have that saved game on it. If you do that, I think you're out of luck.
I’m old and love my old games as I was a kid once. Got the x pro and I don’t know how to improve the graphics say like in actraiser. Looks all rough cut. A video on graphics improvements thru settings or just any help would be appreciated
There are ways you can change the shaders for your games in the game selection menu. I THINK you press the select button and it'll bring up a menu where you can choose something along the lines of 'game specific options'. From there, it's kind of trial and error to find the one that you like best. I hope that helps!
Hey bud, how did you get on with this? I've just received the X Pro and, like you, feel a lot of the graphics look pixelated/rough cut. Videos I've seen of the X Pro playing some of the same games look much clearer/sharper. I've messed about (not too much) with settings but no joy :(
I own one and use a wired USB controller. Even with the wired controller, I still have massive input latency issues. Also, the frame rate on some games are so low that they're unusable. Obviously, there is a lack of computing power. So, I was thinking of taking that micro SD card out and, with an adapter, try to play it off my laptop. Should work, right?
you ever have a issue where the console wont save any sort of configuration settings you make? when i got mine it wouldnt save games and saving games in game wouldnt work... i figured out that i needed to make a different file and change the location of the save games in the directory but every now and then or i go to switch games and it reverts itself back to the original file location... so its like im in this really annoying loop of having to make sure its in the correct location and then changing it back just to restart the console and it reverts back to the default location.... its been a headache lol but it really is a neat little console i been slowly setting up retroarch and making playlists overtime but it for sure takes a LONG time to set this stuff up from scratch and download roms... all that junk... its awesome to get it all in one package... just wish i could get this bugs fixed or figure out wtf is causing it to do this
I have a question . Once you Pick an emulator and play a game . How do you get out of the emulator and back to the main screen without turning it off and rebooting the entire system.
Excellent question! If you haven't rebound your controller, I believe it's either Start+Select, or Start+Analogue (or what would be the Analogue button in a PS2 controller). Press them twice, and that should bounce you back to the main menu.
I’m having problems with this consul freezing on most N64 games, and all fighting games N64 and higher such as Dreamcast/PlayStation ext. would you have any info on fixing this?
Clone your SD card. There are many owners of this console, including myself, who turned on their unit one day only to find the OS had corrupted itself. The recovery process is a huge pain in the ass.

Was playing quest n64 and the save state just had the hour glass and wouldn’t save. Not sure why it does that because it was saving previously. Not sure how to correct that. Any advice?

Trying to decide wether to get one of these. I bought an older version 4 years ago but that had fewer consoles by far and you had no controller with it & worst òf all you had to yank the mains lead out sometimes to exit a game.
That problem has decidedly been solved on this one! It's a button combo now to exit games (I think it's the Start+Analogue buttons together) so no more weirdness in that regard. It's not for everyone, but I've been really impressed with the device so far. :)
I can't get the hotkeys turned off so I can't play any games as the A button is also reset and b is exit the game, I have tried everything any advice for fixing this?
Many videos show how these consoles have most problems with the two systems : N64 and PlayStation. Glitches,no audio, not working, background issues, etc. Has that been your experience as well, anyone?
I've honestly not tried that since the one I got came with more games than I can ever hope to play. I would assume theres some kind of proprietary file structure, but it's worth a shot!

It has the MK games not sure about Soul Blade it does have Abes Odyssey for PS1 and not sure about Sonic Choas but it does have all the other sonic games so I assume it has this one as well

Help ! Lol my son messed up the controller settings . How can I get the buttons to work properly. I get to the screen to set up the buttons but , I can’t select the start button. I’m not to good with video games .
Been wanting one but was scared because I've seen so many people say how hard it was to set them up. I thought they were plug and play but it seems you will have to change many settings. Not sure if this is true or not but it made me hold off on getting one. Can't seem to find any answers on it.
I legitimately changed nothing. I plugged it in, turned it on, complained about the controllers, and was playing within about 10 minutes. There's some setup if you're using different controllers or trying to configure a keyboard for PC play, but it's honestly as plug and play as it gets.
The only issue I've experienced with running slow was with the N64, and that's just because the emulation isn't there yet - it's gonna run slow, no matter what. Dreamcast, if I had a slowdown I would shut down the machine and restart it, and all my problems would go away - I think it's something like a memory buffer filling up, as I've only ever seen that with long play sessions. As for squeaking? That's new. Never experienced that one, Jagjit, I'm sorry. :(
Excellent question! Unfortunately, I honestly couldn't tell you. Haven't owned a CRT in about 10 years - just don't have the room or inclination to haul around a boat anchor like that. :)

So saving RPG games is a little complicated. I was able to figure out how to get the SNES and Genesis RPG' saving to work, have to exit the game with start select or exiting retroarch before powering down the system. HOWEVER, when i try to exit the PS1 emulator the same way, it freezes the system, so saving PS1 RPG's isnt possible. Do you have any tips for RPG saving on this system?
@@goku208888 Has the edge gone dull, bro? Yes you do need aaa batteries! But you can also use any usb controller that works on windows. I do prefer the xbox one controller (with dongle) but if u wanna keep the original ones i would recommend you NiMH accus... saves money and is good for the environment
Just got 1 of these today, loved the old amiga games so tried a few out & none work, just comes up a blue screen that says AMIGA DOS at top of screen, it usually happens when the game itself is 2 disks or more. Any ideas? Cheers

@@SquarePegs remapping is how issue started .. now I can't access either menu to remap the controller differently.this not in game. I can't search , setup controllers , nothing that involves either the option menu by selecting select or main menu choices from pressing start. Any possible solution you might know to fix this issue?
Dunno if you’ll see this, but how well is super mario 64? I’m getting the x3 plus (hopefully more powerful) in order to play a ton of rom hacks and was wondering how well the original sm64 ran off of this version of the console. Follow-up question, how easy is it to add roms to the console?
@@sonicsnobody Nice had mine for a couple days and only problem I had was some controller issues.And only thing I don't like so far is all the PS1 games don't have the cutscenes.
@@Nosfeast i realized that… it happened to me too with the grinch… and one of the games were in a different language… what I did for that was download a rom (a zip containing all the files, cue file and bin files) and just put the zip in the folders… I think what happened was that when putting the games into the console, they only put the cue file (game file) and not the bin files (game music) and I guess the cutscenes rely on the music in order to function
PS1 seems to be the biggest bugbear for this system, to be honest. I've not had many issues on the games I've played, but folks have run into cut scene issues like you're seeing, music not playing (which I've experienced), as well as general performance problems. I unfortunately don't know of a way to fix it beyond perhaps posting on the Amazon product page as a question to see if anyone else might have a solution for you.
I was having an issue trying to connect internet to the console itself by ethernet cable. Plugged it in. And didn't even register. Am I doing something wrong on the setup so I can download stuff like cheats?
I believe by default it's either clicking both thumbsticks twice, OR it's pressing start and select together twice. I've changed around my default controls, so I don't remember 100% which it is, but one of those should take care of you. :)
I just bought one. Just bought it for Marvel VS Capcom 2. And my fiancée wants to play “Mario”… lol. I do know I will need to backup the sd card. Any suggestions?
Any Micro SD will do the job. I'm using a 128GB Amazon Basics card that I picked up for like $10 on a sale a few months ago and it's worked perfectly. :)
I had some issues with controller connectivity at first, but haven't spice the first couple of days I had the device. I'd suggest making sure you're trying as globally accepted controllers as possible - Logitech, 8BitDo, etc. - and going from there. If that doesn't solve it, I'd try customer support, they may have a list of supported controllers.
I just got one of these and can't figure out how to exit out of a game once you've started. How do I do this? I'm using the controllers it came with so I didn't have to set them up. The only way I can find to back out of the games is to turn the unit off then back on. The little booklet say L1+L2 to main menu but it doesn't work. Someone please help!
Try the Start and Select buttons, or the Start and Analog button - I think it's those that will jump you out (you may have to press them twice in a row, I don't remember!)
I'd love to give you a definitive answer on this but straight up, this is the only one I've tried out. I can tell you that what this one does, it does fairly well - but generally speaking, obviously more RAM and more storage capacity for more games is never a bad thing. But, having not tried out something like the X King or anything like that, I can't say for certain that its a better machine, and I wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

Hey Brother I have a Whoop androids tablet 8.0 quad core I found out I can download roms to it i also can buy a device it's a stick one side is a C cord and the other side has a SD care so I can download stuff from android phone or hopefully this android tablet then insert the SD card back have you ever heard of someone downloading roms to a tablet to their SD card? Also last question what are the best sites to download roms?
Hey Daniel! I'm afraid that tablet emulation is not something I know anything about - I wish I had a better answer for you, but I've done zero investigation into that. As for sites to download ROMS, the best I've found for information in that regard is r/roms on Reddit. That should point you where you need to go. :)
People should know that these cheap Android boxes come "preloaded" with viruses, keyloggers and other kinds of malicious software that activate once you connect the device to the Internet. I hope UA-camrs will investigate and tell us more about it 🙏
Go for it, dude. That is decidedly not my area of expertise. I can't speak towards that - I've never connected this to the internet nor do I intend to, so for me the most that's gonna get keylogged is a dragon punch input on SSF2 Turbo.
I haven't experienced that - I'd suggest trying a different HDMI cable to see if that's the culprit, and if not, try a different HDMI port if at all possible. And if that doesn't solve anything, contact the seller or initiate a return on Amazon! Non-functional hardware is grounds for at the bare minimum a refund or replacement!
One more thing…I’m not a fan of the controllers that come with it. I cannot get the L analog config done for some reason. Can you recommend a better controller to use with this console? Thanks
When I configure the controller, the Start button is non functional on both controllers. This is particularly frustrating for the Crazy Taxis & Power Stone. I even configured the controllers like a DC controller and disabled the LR shoulder buttons, the 2nd thumb controller, and the Select button, but no luck. I particularly bought this system for Crazy Taxi 2 & the Power Stones. I have purchased another USB controller & a SNES USB controller too just to check the compatibility.
Question this really sucks i cant even play this one game because the language is there any way you can change the language on the game your playing i cant play some of the games because i dont even know what its saying or what to do in the game smh

I’m old and love my old games as I was a kid once. Got the x pro and I don’t know how to improve the graphics say like in actraiser. Looks all rough cut. A video on graphics improvements thru settings or just any help would be appreciated
There are ways you can change the shaders for your games in the game selection menu. I THINK you press the select button and it'll bring up a menu where you can choose something along the lines of 'game specific options'. From there, it's kind of trial and error to find the one that you like best. I hope that helps!
Hey bud, how did you get on with this? I've just received the X Pro and, like you, feel a lot of the graphics look pixelated/rough cut. Videos I've seen of the X Pro playing some of the same games look much clearer/sharper. I've messed about (not too much) with settings but no joy :(

I own one and use a wired USB controller. Even with the wired controller, I still have massive input latency issues. Also, the frame rate on some games are so low that they're unusable. Obviously, there is a lack of computing power. So, I was thinking of taking that micro SD card out and, with an adapter, try to play it off my laptop. Should work, right?

you ever have a issue where the console wont save any sort of configuration settings you make? when i got mine it wouldnt save games and saving games in game wouldnt work... i figured out that i needed to make a different file and change the location of the save games in the directory but every now and then or i go to switch games and it reverts itself back to the original file location... so its like im in this really annoying loop of having to make sure its in the correct location and then changing it back just to restart the console and it reverts back to the default location.... its been a headache lol but it really is a neat little console i been slowly setting up retroarch and making playlists overtime but it for sure takes a LONG time to set this stuff up from scratch and download roms... all that junk... its awesome to get it all in one package... just wish i could get this bugs fixed or figure out wtf is causing it to do this
I have a question . Once you Pick an emulator and play a game . How do you get out of the emulator and back to the main screen without turning it off and rebooting the entire system.
Excellent question! If you haven't rebound your controller, I believe it's either Start+Select, or Start+Analogue (or what would be the Analogue button in a PS2 controller). Press them twice, and that should bounce you back to the main menu.
I’m having problems with this consul freezing on most N64 games, and all fighting games N64 and higher such as Dreamcast/PlayStation ext. would you have any info on fixing this?
Same just that for me it's only dk 64 it's a black screen except when it shows the nintendo logo when starting
Clone your SD card. There are many owners of this console, including myself, who turned on their unit one day only to find the OS had corrupted itself. The recovery process is a huge pain in the ass.

Was playing quest n64 and the save state just had the hour glass and wouldn’t save. Not sure why it does that because it was saving previously. Not sure how to correct that. Any advice?

Trying to decide wether to get one of these. I bought an older version 4 years ago but that had fewer consoles by far and you had no controller with it & worst òf all you had to yank the mains lead out sometimes to exit a game.
That problem has decidedly been solved on this one! It's a button combo now to exit games (I think it's the Start+Analogue buttons together) so no more weirdness in that regard. It's not for everyone, but I've been really impressed with the device so far. :)

Yup. By default, it's set to be configured to the controllers that ship with the console rather than a keyboard and mouse.
So, does that mean when you plug your keyboard in you have to change a setting? My keyboard didn't work for Spectrum.
My only one question is. Does it save gaming progress? For eg. if I am playing super mario world. Will the progress be saved?

Help ! Lol my son messed up the controller settings . How can I get the buttons to work properly. I get to the screen to set up the buttons but , I can’t select the start button. I’m not to good with video games .
Been wanting one but was scared because I've seen so many people say how hard it was to set them up. I thought they were plug and play but it seems you will have to change many settings. Not sure if this is true or not but it made me hold off on getting one. Can't seem to find any answers on it.
I legitimately changed nothing. I plugged it in, turned it on, complained about the controllers, and was playing within about 10 minutes.
There's some setup if you're using different controllers or trying to configure a keyboard for PC play, but it's honestly as plug and play as it gets.

They don't work. As soon as you configure the controller that's when the trouble starts. You can't exit to the main menu.

On my super console X pro Some of my N64 and Sega Dreamcast games are running slow and make a squeaky noise. How can I resolve it?
The only issue I've experienced with running slow was with the N64, and that's just because the emulation isn't there yet - it's gonna run slow, no matter what. Dreamcast, if I had a slowdown I would shut down the machine and restart it, and all my problems would go away - I think it's something like a memory buffer filling up, as I've only ever seen that with long play sessions.
As for squeaking? That's new. Never experienced that one, Jagjit, I'm sorry. :(

Excellent question! Unfortunately, I honestly couldn't tell you. Haven't owned a CRT in about 10 years - just don't have the room or inclination to haul around a boat anchor like that. :)

So saving RPG games is a little complicated. I was able to figure out how to get the SNES and Genesis RPG' saving to work, have to exit the game with start select or exiting retroarch before powering down the system. HOWEVER, when i try to exit the PS1 emulator the same way, it freezes the system, so saving PS1 RPG's isnt possible.
Do you have any tips for RPG saving on this system?
I don't, sadly, as I haven't had those issues. I've been able to save normally and pick up where I'd left off without any problems.

I do prefer the xbox one controller (with dongle) but if u wanna keep the original ones i would recommend you NiMH accus... saves money and is good for the environment

Just got 1 of these today, loved the old amiga games so tried a few out & none work, just comes up a blue screen that says AMIGA DOS at top of screen, it usually happens when the game itself is 2 disks or more. Any ideas? Cheers

Dunno if you’ll see this, but how well is super mario 64? I’m getting the x3 plus (hopefully more powerful) in order to play a ton of rom hacks and was wondering how well the original sm64 ran off of this version of the console. Follow-up question, how easy is it to add roms to the console?

@@sonicsnobody Nice had mine for a couple days and only problem I had was some controller issues.And only thing I don't like so far is all the PS1 games don't have the cutscenes.
@@Nosfeast i realized that… it happened to me too with the grinch… and one of the games were in a different language… what I did for that was download a rom (a zip containing all the files, cue file and bin files) and just put the zip in the folders… I think what happened was that when putting the games into the console, they only put the cue file (game file) and not the bin files (game music) and I guess the cutscenes rely on the music in order to function
Is there a way to turn on the PS1 cutscenes mine don't work on any of the PS1 games.
PS1 seems to be the biggest bugbear for this system, to be honest. I've not had many issues on the games I've played, but folks have run into cut scene issues like you're seeing, music not playing (which I've experienced), as well as general performance problems. I unfortunately don't know of a way to fix it beyond perhaps posting on the Amazon product page as a question to see if anyone else might have a solution for you.
Once I select and play a game I can't get out of it to play another game. How do I navigate from game to game
You either press both the Start and Select buttons together twice, or the thumbsticks, can't remember the default.

How do I exit a game? When I want to quit I press everything. I just want to exit to the main menu so I can pick a different game to play.
I believe by default it's either clicking both thumbsticks twice, OR it's pressing start and select together twice. I've changed around my default controls, so I don't remember 100% which it is, but one of those should take care of you. :)

Any Micro SD will do the job. I'm using a 128GB Amazon Basics card that I picked up for like $10 on a sale a few months ago and it's worked perfectly. :)

I had some issues with controller connectivity at first, but haven't spice the first couple of days I had the device. I'd suggest making sure you're trying as globally accepted controllers as possible - Logitech, 8BitDo, etc. - and going from there. If that doesn't solve it, I'd try customer support, they may have a list of supported controllers.
I just got one of these and can't figure out how to exit out of a game once you've started. How do I do this? I'm using the controllers it came with so I didn't have to set them up. The only way I can find to back out of the games is to turn the unit off then back on. The little booklet say L1+L2 to main menu but it doesn't work. Someone please help!
Try the Start and Select buttons, or the Start and Analog button - I think it's those that will jump you out (you may have to press them twice in a row, I don't remember!)

I'd love to give you a definitive answer on this but straight up, this is the only one I've tried out. I can tell you that what this one does, it does fairly well - but generally speaking, obviously more RAM and more storage capacity for more games is never a bad thing. But, having not tried out something like the X King or anything like that, I can't say for certain that its a better machine, and I wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

I'm afraid that tablet emulation is not something I know anything about - I wish I had a better answer for you, but I've done zero investigation into that.
As for sites to download ROMS, the best I've found for information in that regard is r/roms on Reddit. That should point you where you need to go. :)

You can! There's an option at a global level or system specific level to turn off bezels.

Go for it, dude. That is decidedly not my area of expertise. I can't speak towards that - I've never connected this to the internet nor do I intend to, so for me the most that's gonna get keylogged is a dragon punch input on SSF2 Turbo.

I haven't experienced that - I'd suggest trying a different HDMI cable to see if that's the culprit, and if not, try a different HDMI port if at all possible. And if that doesn't solve anything, contact the seller or initiate a return on Amazon! Non-functional hardware is grounds for at the bare minimum a refund or replacement!

Why won’t the controller work on Dreamcast games?
No clue, I haven't run into that at all.
When I configure the controller, the Start button is non functional on both controllers. This is particularly frustrating for the Crazy Taxis & Power Stone. I even configured the controllers like a DC controller and disabled the LR shoulder buttons, the 2nd thumb controller, and the Select button, but no luck. I particularly bought this system for Crazy Taxi 2 & the Power Stones. I have purchased another USB controller & a SNES USB controller too just to check the compatibility.
