I’ve been in the granite and marble industry for 22 years and for a beginner level that’s not to bad. I On white quarts it’s safe to use pencil on it can remove and clean it with magic eraser and bars keepers friend. I just started up my handyman business and I subcontract through the company I work full time for. We are a one stop shop. Today I had to replace some major parts on our bridge saw. As I was looking for new techniques on sink cutouts I stumbled on this funny because I always watch you videos. My approach on cutouts like this are a little different but got huge props from me now that see you do a little bit of stone countertops!!!🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You did an excellent job. I have never worked with granite or quartz but I have worked with ceramic and often when trimming and rounding the cut out it ends up cracking on me do to the vibration. Watching you, I was sure that it would have cracked on you too, but it didnt. What a relief that must have been. Great work and congrats on a job well done. Tim
OSHA would come up in there and shut you and your flip flops down. Impressive to see you still have all your toes. Keep going Flip Flop Countertop Shop
Those pads will inevitably stain the Quartz. You can remove the staining with lacquer thinner and/or Barkeeper's Friend. Burning is a different story although some burns can be removed with those things as well. Source: I install these countertops along with granite and laminate. Cool project!!!
Hey Handyman great work cutting that Quartz countertop. Very detailed and clean. Just a heads up, Quartz is non-porous and doesn’t need to be sealed - ever.
If it were a standard sink cut in how much do you think you would spend in discs for a grinder to cut this out? And how much would a countertop place ask for a simmilar job? Thats alot of compounds and radiuses in that cut and i guess im just wondering why the client wanted yiu to cut this instead of getting it done by a countertop warehouse? Or maybe they just refused because of the time it wouldve taken?
Most counter top fabricators do not have a CNC water jet to cut something like this out. Most use similar methods that I used. They have jigs and guides set up to get accurate repeatable cuts. I took this job on for much less than a top fabricator could. I didn't do this for the money. It was for the challenge and to perfect my skill set. I also wanted to share all that I learned with youtube.
Great job! I hope you will vid the finished product, installed. The sink is interesting in style ... to each his own. I hope the sealer does not leave a filmy look on that pretty quartz.
I like how you don't worry about having the exact perfect tool for every task and just worry about getting things done! Out of curiosity, why'd you go with a pneumatic polisher instead of an electric one?
The price. It was only $150 compared to $200 and more for an electric one that had a water hook up. Also the size the electric ones with water with 2 times the size. I needed something small to get in all the corners. Thanks for watching.
OMG! Did I see you eating a sandwich without gloves, goggles, a hardhat, cup, steel-toed boots, OR EVEN A NAPKIN!?!? My God, man! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
My stove broke & is unrepairable, but a new stove will require me to cut 1/8 to 1/4 inch off the side for the new stove to fit it's not very much do you think quartz will chip if only trying to cut that narrow amount off the sides?
i used a wet saw to re-shape some tiles for a shop front and the water line kept ballooning and exploding in the hot sun .lol i had to keep cutting it shorter and covering it up ,so just remember not to leave the wet line exposed to the hot sun when its under pressure or boom splat haa
Seems the comment section would like you to whistle more, while wearing your safety sandals, when using your harbor freight channel locks. Let me buy some stock in Prozac before you do. As always, nice video.
That’s a ton of work you did on that counter, you could have just ask a CNC shop to cut it for you, might have saved you a lot of time, dust and white mud, but a really informative video though
I've seen your holster clips in a few videos and a bulge on the right hip in some others... do you EDC a revolver or is that just for around the house?
Dear god that’s a lot of work for a sink top. I know you didn’t do it for the money, and enjoyed the challenge, but they should know how involved their choice of sink/ countertop were.
Most shops don't have a water jet. The ones that do are a large scale production and are not open to a guy walking in off the street with a piece of quartz.
I love how people watch our vid for examples (because they’re pros) and then knock you for not wearing we protection and flip flops. I had a framer give me a ton of safety info one day.... Step on a board, step on a nail Eyelids are there to cover your eyes God put hairs in my nose for a reason
The Handyman I don't blame you. I can't get the song out of my head, so when I heard you say "A little bit of" I had to write that comment. I have never seen someone work with stone and ceramic as much as you. Great Job :)

You amaze me with your honesty and God-given talent. Your father and mother are surely proud.

Thanks Craig. Comments like this is whats keeps me making videos.
Loved your "squint" protection glasses, I'm going to order a pair for my next weeks project.. :P
Great job!!! I appreciate the in depth tutorial!
You have more patience then anyone I know

Right on man, keep up the good work. Have been considering a polisher, will use your Amazon links if I go for it.
I love the flip flops at :57 seconds
OMG! Did I see you eating a sandwich without gloves, goggles, a hardhat, cup, steel-toed boots, OR EVEN A NAPKIN!?!?
My God, man! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
You sound like a toilet plunger .
Ha Ha, christmas came early this year...lol That's a nice compressor dude...👍
Can't wait till you say how much the total remodel cost the homeowner. When you do can you break down the cost.
Acetone also works great at cleaning the green color off the white synthetic quartz

Please use ears and eye protection even with pneumatics. I learned the hard way- tinnitus sucks!
What made you decide to make your own countertop and vanity? Cost, space limitations, customer request?
The customers picked out a very unique sink. www.mrdirectint.com/961-bronze-aged-sink.html
Looks like your camera took a beating.
wait, wait you wear all that protective gear and flip flops, your a hoot and a hollar
New Air Compressor amzn.to/2R1fLGG
Looks like it turned out to be a pricey vanity top with all the labor you have into it.

All said and done, how much time will this countertop fabrication and sink mounting take? What are you charging for that?
I gave a price on a full custom vanity with the top, sink, faucet and drains. I will tell you how much when The last video is out.
Nice security shoes 😁
Really good job thought there might have been a router that could helped
Thanks for the share

Hello Handyman.
This is my film.
Tell us about your new air compressor!
Man that was awesome 👍
That’s a ton of work you did on that counter, you could have just ask a CNC shop to cut it for you, might have saved you a lot of time, dust and white mud, but a really informative video though
I've seen your holster clips in a few videos and a bulge on the right hip in some others... do you EDC a revolver or is that just for around the house?
That much polishing needed since sink is dropped in and will cover most of it?
The sink I'm using is Undermount. Drop in would not need much polishing at all.
You sure need more water so the disc won't stain the granite or the quartz. You can clean the stain with paint thinner.
Can’t trust anyone working around power tools wearing sandals.
STEEL TOE SANDALS
That's how we do it on Maui, my granite guy always installs in flip flops!
Don't come to Hawaii. Slippers are the norm.
A mask woulda been handy
With the time value you put into this wouldn't i have been cheaper to take it somewhere to have them cut this out with a waterjet?
Most counter top places do not have a water jet. I didn't do this for the money. The skills I learned were priceless.
How long have you spent on making this are you charging for the time etc?
I will have 40 hours into the entire vanity.
Hello Handyman!!!!
Hello.
where do you get a sink to fit that hole?!
www.mrdirectint.com/961-bronze-aged-sink.html
00:06:10 My ears thank you as now bleeding from sound.....I mean who doesn't like that "nails on a chalkboard" type sound right😉😅
Wild Bobs backyard $hit show! Who tf wears flip flops cutting stone? This was entertaining to say the least.
How many hours did you put into this sink top- ?
I'm guessing around 8
I bet that air compressor is fast
I hope you got paid a bundle for this job because you spent a lot of $$$ on tools and time on this project.
Needs a couple more stickers
Dear god that’s a lot of work for a sink top. I know you didn’t do it for the money, and enjoyed the challenge, but they should know how involved their choice of sink/ countertop were.
and to think, granite shops only charge about 100-150 for a sink cut out.
Not this sink cut out.
@@TheHandyman1 true true, maybe 250 😉
@@TheHandyman1 kinda looks like a bunch of grapes.. am I close?
Most shops don't have a water jet. The ones that do are a large scale production and are not open to a guy walking in off the street with a piece of quartz.
You should wear safety glasses
So is that a feather in your hat?
yes
Macaroni
why not use a router ??
👍

God put hairs in my nose for a reason
are you chief thirty feather
Good work handyman. I would of lost my shit/patience.

I don't get that one.
The Handyman I don't blame you. I can't get the song out of my head, so when I heard you say "A little bit of" I had to write that comment.

Where's the sink?
It was in the other room.
@@TheHandyman1 ohhh!
Good job, but that is going to be one ugly sink.
WHATS WITH ALL THE COMMERCIALS
You Seriously had an Entire body suit on and wore Flip Flops. SMH!!!
