Damn that dude @6:15 was bawling, deafheaven's music sure can give you a surge of unfiltered emotion. i know i dont know the lyrics and maybe i shouldnt. i just relate the sound to my own thoughts and feelings and thats what makes it so great for me.
I know very well that dream house and sunbather are far more remembered that this song on the sunbather album. But this one really does it for me. It has the raw beginning, a slow-paced middle that seems both nostalgic and victorious and the last climaxing, glorious part when you just wants to scream it all away. I really wish they do something more like this and I would like to be in a crowd such as this one.
@@TheMrCaden101 Hello everyone, I back again to listen to this. Every now and then I come back, even though I know is not the best quality I just love how it is so real, hypnotic and powerful. Looking back at my comment I see I used my words very poorly and with lots of mistakes hahaha sorry for that. But I know you guys understand what I was trying to communicate. Anyway, I love this.
thank you! i love this album but unfortunately for 10 years I always only listened to Dreamhouse and sunbather.. only now via vinyl i give every song a chance :) Pecan is awesome!!!
Drooling red from my eyes to meet the bitter Sun that shines past into light. Setting fire To curtains in hope that you're dreaming. Destroying the tomb of memories from your Life. In the room full of family, but couldn't Find one. In the hallways lit up brightly, But couldn't find myself. I laid drunk on The concrete on the day of your birth in Celebration of all you were worth. I am my father's son. I am no one. I cannot love. It's in my blood.
God damn this is one of the best things I've ever seen. I've loved this song for years - just now found this live version. Deafheaven ima get off my ass and make some dope music and we can collab one day. Peace
George feels music the same way that I and the guys from the crowd do, it just moves you on autopilot. It's great to see the connection he's able to create with the crowd.
Idk if i'm the only one, but i love this section of the song 1:58 that swirling distorted guitar is SO GOOD, Kerry couldn't replicate this tone no more.
i've looked like the tall bald guy at 7:25 every time i've seen this song live. except i don't know any the words. the song fucking bangs tho. rides out hard at the end
If it helps with some good ol' music knowledge, Deafheaven back in those years was signed to Deathwish, Jacob Bannon's label. He was involved in the production of the album too.
Saw these dudes play a show before Roads to Judah came out, all they had was a cassette of 'Demo' with them. Not many people were there for them, and I can't say how stoked I am that they're receiving so much love now.
Yep this looks super cool, when I saw DTP I was like these 2 in the front. Some bands fucking demolish your emotions, especially when u witness them live and its even better if they re at a small venue like this one.
Lets just face fucking facts...yes, yes this is hipster black metal. It is undeniably hipster black metal but who cares? Deafheaven rules and their sunbather album kicks the shit out of any alcest, agalloch, chelsea wolfe or any other BM record. Yes this is hipster BM. Idk why people get offended when its called hipster black metal. Thats exactly what this is. I mean have you seen the way the band dresses? Kerrys always rocking the super sweet pants with that highwater fold at the bottom, george rocks highwaters too and always wears classy shoes. He never wears regular everyday shoes and he occasionally wears long parkas and combat boots as well. The rest of the band also dresses in a similar fashion. I think its cool. Whatever you know? Deafheaven is beautiful.
+henri crousteau i agree 10x...Sunbather is the best thing that happened to earth. Its powerful, atmospheric, emotionally beautiful and just perfect..except for that track 'Windows'...haha...We could do without it lol
Not sure about the "hipster black metal" description, more like post-rock-screamo with black metal vocals. If you like Sunbather, then check out the Swedish band *Suffocate For Fuck Sake* and their album "Blazing Fires...". It's on youtube. Similar music, but a bit more experimental.
They're great but saying that they're better than all of the bands you mention is false. Also none of these nor Deafheaven are bm. Plus fashion has nothing to do with music, don't mix up everything..
The only thing I can't stand about this band are their fans. What I mean is they'll be like. "I love black metal. This is so awesome. Black metal is the shit!" No! To call Deafheaven BM is to say Nicki Minaj is an amazing artist. They are an extreme metal band, not BM. Although there are strains of BM DNA in their music, but not as a whole. Best lines from this song. I lay drunk on the concrete on the day of your birth To celebrate all that you are wroth Daddy issues much? Still a deep passage
It's a fusion of black metal and various other genres, often called Blackgaze or post-black metal. But go back into your basement and listen to some more slayer, convince yourself that you're a "trve metal head".
Obsidius The Sardonic i know "post black metal" but this is not that... btw i hate Slayer, and mostly listen to Hipü hop recently.. i don`t care what genre i just like good music

WHAT A CROWD! An unbelievable stage performance by the vocalist, specially towards the end. You can see there's just pure emotion.

Wow, that was extremely powerful. Music is a gift to this world, such beauty
The climactic half was inexplicably empowering.

Never thought I’d see a csh reference in a deafheaven comment section but here we are
So passionate, love this band

One of the best videos ever
It's dope when Waldo leaves the silly hat at home and just rocks the fuck out
Oh I can tell you had the best time of your life. I have to see them live too.
Geez, the pure intensity!
Holy shit what an atmosphere. Seeing them this October, really hope they play this.
Best moment in music
That outro man, absolutely gut-punching every single time
I can´t explain this song, it´s so fucking beatiful
this was just amazing, wish I was there. This is what I love about music
the bald dude clearly not knowing the words, but doing his best anyway, is my absolute favourite thing about this video ❣
watching this makes me want to see them again so bad
I'm jealous man! I bet you will always remember that night! They're awesome!
The singer's stage antics and presence totally reminds me of Jacob Bannon from Converge. Both awesome bands
If it helps with some good ol' music knowledge, Deafheaven back in those years was signed to Deathwish, Jacob Bannon's label.

amazing. thank you for sharing.

This is fucking legendary.
Just amazing I wish they would go back to these sounds.
i guess they're already stable from all the anger and now they're just chilling
what a fucking performance, my god. they should close every show with this one, because nothing can top this.
holy fucking shit what a performance.
God this is good!
And thank you.
What Did you used to record this ??? It sounds and looks awesome !!!

It's a shame I couldn't find a live where they did this song with the piano part.
I can do anything.
