This brings tears to my eyes because I wish I could go back to my childhood in the 80s so much. I took so much for granted...I had such a great childhood.
I feel the exact same way. While I realized that I DID have a sense that something 'magical' was happening back in the '80s, I still didn't give it nearly enough 'attention'...if that makes sense. I think most of us who grew up in the '80s didn't......because we we ALL believed the hype that was fed to us at every moment: That life would only get better. While in some ways, of course, life does.....in NO WAY AT ALL did it compare to the '80s. I wish I hadn't believed that, but that was what we all did back then. God please rewind the world to the '80s!!
@BEN'S REACTION TIME You're wrong. Pam might be hot looking but in the end looks will fade, and that skank mentality will eventually turn people against her, like Scott. Boof on the other hand is the "average" looking girl (as average as Hollywood can be) but is a far more compelling person to be around. That makes her a more beautiful person.
It's sad how we will never get those days back ever again. The 80s for me at least is something you never can explain, the films, the music, the toys, the whole nostalgia. It's music like this that can trigger sadness or a memory or longing for the past which can never be repeated. I'm so thankful I lived in the 80s where I can remember and relate to alot of things.
I watched my Teen Wolf VHS tape at least 80 times as a kid. And every time it ended, I watched the end credits with this song again and again and again.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It transports me right back to the 1980s, a decade I wish we all could have lived in forever. Was it perfect? No, no decade is. But its damn near. This song is also! Michael J. Fox was at the top of his game here, and I give him a lot of credit for staying faithful to "Family Ties", despite his big film success. Unlike many celebrities, he had loyalty....and class.
I agree. They should have played this either when when Boof & Scott were in the closet at the party or when they did a slow dance at the prom. Then also play it at the end too as was done. The song slayed it during the credits as it played out until the very last note. For years I assumed it was Amy Grant singing this song under another last name as she was known mainly as a "Christian" music artist. Amy Holland , has a great voice.
I agree. I feel bad my son won't experience the same magic but I guess we can only try to show them the best we can in this day and age . Maybe they ll remember this as magical too
We sure do want to!!!!!! I am even hearing the same from YOUNGER generations! They hear the music now & see the films & even read about the world back then.......& get upset that they DIDN'T get to live then. God please rewind the world to the 1980s! Please.
There’s something about a song like this that is so quintessentially 1980’s that it really touches something deep inside you if you lived through those times. It reminds you of how they made things back then. They weren’t burdened with the need to be continually cynical, so we got songs and films that were actually hopeful and made you feel optimistic about life and where everything was going. How did we let that all go?
He makes the free throw wins the game, gets dad's approval, gets the good girl and then someone in the bleachers can even keep their fly up WHO'S WITH ME!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!
I never heard about that bit of 'trivia' at the time, but I did some years later. I still don't see....it...lol, for some reason. But I chuckle, as it may be true?
It’s a special song to me. I can play this song on the piano for hours and get wrapped in a spindle of emotions of happy and sad…but mostly hopeful. “Isn’t that the way you do it? Tell me I can do it too.” 💕
How good was it growing up in this era the 80's! I couldn't of wished for a better childhood. That was an amazing era to grow up, magical memories that I'll never forget!! And film's like this and the soundtracks made it! M j fox was on fire then, he was part of so many talented actor's and musicians to name in this best era ever! The one and only 80's! 👌👌👌
Saw teen wolf the other day and this song brought back so many memories. I was only 5 years old when this movie came out. Hearing this song makes me relive that time cause I had both of my parents and we watched this together. Miss my parents so much and 80’s music helps cope with losing them. Great song
34 years ago... Wow, time has never stood still for anyone but perhaps thats why we love movies (especially 80's movies). I remember watching this in the theaters when I was 9. Always loved MJF- Back to the Future, Secret of My Success, Teen Wolf, Doc Hollywood, etc. Yes, miss that time of life.
I bought this soundtrack several times over the years. My nephews used to ask me to play it for their naptime. I would play it in the car for them as well.❤️
I love the soundtrack to this movie. Thank you for uploading this. This song is bitter sweet and brings back memories of both happy and sad times from my adolescence. I wish that the c.d. soundtrack would be reissued, as it seems to have been out of print since at least 2005.
The 1980's was The Very Best Decade of All Time. The Best Movies,Music,TV Shows,The Birth of The Music Video,The Best Toys,Arcades and even The Commercials. The 80's was a great time to be a kid. No question about it man.
I remember watching this with my dad back in the early 90's, back when movies elevated what we thought was magic and made anything seem possible. Miss heartfelt movies like this and Micheal J Fox amazing acting in this movie.
I was born in 1999 but I gotta say I would of loved to grow up in the 80s, man. Everything seemed so much more fun, better times, better music, better talent, just a more positive, etc. My generation today is just filled with too much negativity and people being ignorant. It sucks but I guess that's just the reality.
I watched this movie when i was a teenager.....and I cried at the end of this movie when this song camed on....I believe now at the age of 35...I will cry NOW.....because life is sad at times but give you hope ANYTHING is POSSIBLE 💞💓❤🤞🏽👌🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏾
I remember watching this with some of my family, after my big brother came home, we all said what a good film this was, and he said wait for the next one to come out, meaning back to the future, he made some great films, wonderful the 80s
Love this song so much - But i cant help but think of the dude who cant pull his flies up at the end.... It's one of those incredible movie moments that will never be replicated
I was born in 1986 but I grew up watching movies like this in the early 90s. Still felt like it was the 80s. I recommend listening to the “Lucas”movie soundtrack. That one for sure touch’s my heart every time. There will never be magical films made like this again. Films and music in the 80s were so pure. What happened to this world?
I rented this movie a thousand times growing up on VHS and always loved the movie and the music really brings. back my youth in my opinion one of the best basketball movies ever even if the wolf was the only one who could really play. love it.
Although this song is poignant to remind me of my childhood and brothers playing in the street during those long summer nights it reminds me also of Michael j fox how he was then and now and how time has us in its hands . It's one of the most moving melancholy songs I've ever heard , it's beautiful What a line -" funny sometimes life just changes overnight"
Damn i remember this like it was yesterday, i was 16 and me and my cousin went down from Alabama to Panama city beach for the summer when we first saw this movie. What i would not give to go back to the 80s as a teenager man the stuff we got into. Kids today have no idea what partying really is!!!
My gf has self doubt and self image issues and had them for years. She lives over 500 miles away from me. When I finally visited her, she never felt happier. On my final night there, I pulled up to her house to drop her off. I turned this on and we slow danced to it. She was amazed that I did something like that out of nowhere.
I had a difficult childhood but the music in the 80’s was the hope that one day things would get better. People in the 80s did so much more with so much less. They made music from the heart to last forever. If only this generation would have the desire to leave music you can throw on in 40 years and it still moves you. Thank you to all those who made music to inspire people. 🙏
Remember when you were crazy about that guy or girl and everytime that you saw them your heart would start beating so fast! Remember when you would hold hands with your sweetheart or put your hands in each others back pocket walking together. That's what this song reminds me of. 80s❤
Great Ending Song!! Like Michael J. Fox as an actor. He is An Example Of A True Warrior in life battling his Parkinson’s Disease. My Uncle sadly lost his life in 2006 and he battled with it. So I hope All The Best For Michael!!
2020 has got to be the worst year ever but listening to this song makes everything go away for a moment and takes me back to the 80s. Gosh I miss it so much

PERFECT way to end this movie! Grinning ear to ear...yet I can't help feeling like this is also the perfect song for Nancy Thompson when she would have gotten HER happy ending, the whole Freddy thing and her friends and mom being murdered was actually just a bad dream:)
I've been trying to find this song I didnt no name it but yeah I was born 1985, I remember seeing teen wolf on TV but the ending credits and this song still gets to me no other film can do this with song like this 1 xx
The 80s were amazing. I had a bad childhood but certain things like music movies and tv etc makes memories because you can get lost in it into your own world x Just like this movie
Wow so glad I found this awesome track get butterfly’s listening to this and remember been a teenager back when there was no worry’s or cares in the world
@marksimons584 You might not remember the song was issued as a single and was on the charts but I don't think it did too well! It even says it on the hype sticker on the original vinyl album, includes the single Shooting For The Moon by Amy Holland. I actually own the Soundtrack on CD first first pressing from West Germany in mint condition~🐺🌔💽🙋
Thanks for the reply Mario, never knew this was released as a single. Still growing up in the Uk the music was amazing in the 80s. This should get released again in the charts. It’s a great song.
@@marksimons584 Yes, I agree it's fantastic! I play it all the time! I have the original soundtrack on CD and it's a real CD pressed in West Germany from 1985 and it is very rare and hard to find these days! I also have it on audio cassette in all it's analog tape hiss and glory. I cherish it! 🐺💽📼📻

Agreed! - This is such a beautiful song. I was 11 that summer. Great movie, Love MJF, hes my role model.
@@kevinf2008 I totally agree
Exactly
When Scott pushes past skanky Pamela to run to Boof: one of the best movie moments ever.
Yeeees I know. I was going to write this exact comment! 😍😍
It's like a YES Scott !moment! Plus her face is the candle on the cake moment

I watched my Teen Wolf VHS tape at least 80 times as a kid. And every time it ended, I watched the end credits with this song again and again and again.

1985 was awesome!!! I was a teenager and I loved every minute of the 80s.
I was two years old.
I was 10. I always tell my kids the 80's was the greatest time to exist ever. Especially if you was a kid or a teenager
80s were the best
I was 1 month years old
i was born in 79. it was a great time to be a kid.
Brings back good memories... I wish I could go back.

Abby R. RIGHT ?!! Simpler times .
Same. This movie and Back to the Future are part of my chemical makeup in my brain. So many early memories for me.
Me too so bad!
My child hood will always be LEGENDARY. No generation come close.

after 80's all become plane and dull
I agree. I feel bad my son won't experience the same magic but I guess we can only try to show them the best we can in this day and age . Maybe they ll remember this as magical too
80’s are by far the decade every 40+ wants to revisit. 😍
Take it from me .... all they will ever do is get durtehr, and further away.

Yes you got that one right! Great movie good soundtrack :)
Yeah, Michael J Fox pretty much was the man in 80's movies!
+willtynellyworth yes he was. God how I miss those days
Very Cool Soundtrack, & It Does Have That Sentimental Feeling From The Song,!!
Mmmm the beautiful 80's. Who knew, even with no Internet or mobile, it would be the time so many of us cherish the most.
When I graduated from college December 7, 2019 when I received my degree this song was going through my head.
Kind of like Tom Brady winning the superbowl
This is totally a good song to be playing in someone's head during special events like those. Congratulations 👏.

Even though most who hear this know the lyrics here's help
Funny how sometimes life
Just changes overnight
Magically everything you do turns out so right
Just like that, you pull rabbits out of your hat
You've got the charm that even wizards can't explain
How to make rainbows from a single drop of rain
Who can say?
It's a trick you learn how to play
When you're Shooting for the Moon and finally make it
Guess a lucky star is shining on you
The candle on the cake is yours so take it
Make another wish it's sure to come true
Isn't that the way you do it?
Tell me I can do it too
There's a candle on the cake it's yours so take it
Make another wish it's sure to come true
You say there's really nothing to it?
Maybe I can do it too
Who could believe one day
You'd learn to walk on air
Everyone said "no way, you haven't got a prayer"
Click your heels
That's how up and happy it feels
When you're Shooting for the Moon and finally make it
Guess a lucky star is shining on you
The candle on the cake is yours so take it
Make another wish it's sure to come true
Isn't that the way you do it?
Tell me I can do it too
80s music was so much better than music today

The 80s were amazing. I had a bad childhood but certain things like music movies and tv etc makes memories because you can get lost in it into your own world x
Just like this movie
I TO ALWAYS HAVE HAD LOTS OF DOUBT ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS BUT I BELIEVE IN RECEIVING A LUCKY STAR NOBODY DESERVES TO BE AVERAGE
Beatiful movie and beautiful song........ ♥️🇮🇹
The junk scene in this movie is classic. I have shown this to many and it’s always a good time.
Wow so glad I found this awesome track get butterfly’s listening to this and remember been a teenager back when there was no worry’s or cares in the world
😭 These songs don't touch me like these classics do.
The compact disc logo in the corner love it
Why was this song never released? A No1 single for sure.
