You are without a doubt a very detailed and good builder. You must have spent considerable time off camera measuring and making things work. Your whole assembly is well thought out neatly put together. I am in the process of building a quite similar vac system to run all of my different tools along with two wood lathes that make the biggest mess of any tool. You gave me a good idea here of using a transmission jack to raise and lower the dump barrel. The only thing I don't like about your video is the music. I had to turn it way way down to keep from loosing it but if thats the only negative thiing I think you did one hell of a nice job on this.
Great build. I cut the X out of the blower motor intake. Since there's a separator, you don't need that to protect the impeller. Anything to increase air flow.
Good build and love the look! Simple and straight forward design with the impeller unit connected directly to the cyclone is my fav part. A little FYI about the Unistrut , well the name for one. Also the spring nuts are so you can assemble parts like the angle pieces to it by putting the bolt through the angle holes and attach the spring nuts, then, turn them sideways and depress the spring inside the strut and turn to tighten. By doing this the spring flips and is designed to wedge in place. Its a good system I've had many years using. Good job!
@@ABrazHouse I tried to not be critical with my comments ,sorry if it came across that way. I intend to build something a lot like it, love the direct connection at the intake! The less hose the less resistance and greater efficiency, cool!
I just Subscribed, I can't wait to start my build. Your sink is what brought me here about a week ago. I went ahead and got the same pump and two 20L military style buckets too. I had to do some modifications cause I have no hot water source. So I added a Tee from the pump to a small 3000w tankless water heater then up towards the faucet. Worked like a charm until the breaker tripped. Now I'm debating of adding a dedicated line from junction box or down-grading to a 1500w tankless water heater. I have no access for drain as well, so I'm using a condensation pump called "LITTLE GIANT" with an automatic float switch. Water gets pumped into the other 20L bucket. Never overflows bucket, same size. I really like the attic lift, I've been researching it for ideas.
Great build. I’m setting up a shop for woodworking and other trades around my 110 years house . I was looking for a rack to house a 2 stage dust collection. From what I know it should work great but has an polished look which not what you normally see in shops.
This is by far the nicest setup I’ve seen! Well done. I’ll be making a garage setup and this will fit the aesthetic without the look of a wood shop. Subbed!
Great video and a super useful build. After watching you kneeling and groveling around on the ground whilst working on parts of the project, I think you should have a proper portable roll away workbench/work-table. Maybe an idea for a future project build? I'm thinking some type of break down and easy to hide or hang table that one might be able to roll around w/ locking wheels and possible have an incorporated and/or removable scissor-lift function of variable height adjustment for all types and phases of fabrication. ;-)
Greg, you are definitely on to something! I hate getting up and down the older I get! :) I do have some plans as I am converting my space into a primarily woodworking shop! Stay tuned!
Great looking build - but actually too expensive to build for those of us just wanting performance. Some of the all-in-one systems actually cost less (Grizzly G0860 - 1-1/2 HP Portable Cyclone Dust Collector). However, no offence - you're a great builder.
just saw your video and love it. I think I will try to do something very similar to what you did. I used the superstrut to build an entire 4 place kayak trailer and love this stuff. If you do not mind saying so how much do you have invested in your dust collector total. Thanks and great video.
Nice build, and very creative storage solutions for the accessories. Now to get started on my upgrade from a single stage to two stage dust collection. How do you like the Super Dust Deputy? Is it worth the money? I have been looking at Bill Pentz info to build my own.
Good luck! You can do this! I'm not sure if it is worth the extra since I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I read alot of reviews and more 2-stage builds than I care to count! :) Dust Deputy seems to be one of the leading ones out there.
I started to build a similar Unistrut enclosure for my cyclone separator a few years back. however I never finished because of life things. I plan on finishing borrowing some of your ideas. I was thinking you were going to use the transmission lift for the container below the cycle to to bring that up and down. I see you used it to lift the whole setup up and down. Just curious is there a design benefit to the lift or just esthetics?
not to knock the idea/build because i think it's cool as sh!t, but it reminds me of the mall crawler jeeps. super fancy, painted, led lit, lfited, etc - but now im afraid to actually use it cuz it'll get dirty lol.
Awesome build! That thing looks like you bought it and didn’t build it! I would like to know the CFM from the original dust collector (I think they clam 1550 CFM) to what you’ve built. The last of the video where you were collecting the dust you dumped out didn’t look like it had a lot of suction (could have been due to the attachment you were using). If you have any info on that matter I’d be interested. Thanks Again tho awesome job!
@@ABrazHouse thank you for any information you can get! I’m trying to do the same thing and don’t know if I want it portable like yours with flex lines or fixed in place with mainly hard lines (some flex lines).
Very similar to what I made, except my frame is made with 2x4's. So it does flex. And I used cheap 5 inch casters that have a lot of side to side play. So it's very hard to roll around. I wished I had used steel.
I couldn't even tell you how many videos I watched before settling in on this. I did consider wood also. Since I am not a welder this seemed to be my best alternative, even though it was more expensive.
@@ABrazHouse I think I watched every video on the subject myself. Then I designed it in 3-D. Planned to make a video and share all the parts I used. But by the time I was done, I was done!
Essentially about 2 microns of dust. The Dust Deputy separates the larger dust and then the Rockler filter takes it down to 1 micron. The difference between 3 and 1 microns is pretty significant. Also, this handles more volume than a shop vac.
Great video. But, you need to kill the background music! I don’t understand the need people have to put shitty annoying music in their “how to” videos.
@@ABrazHouse Sure. I really do like your attention to detail. I’ve got a similar project to do, which is how I found your video. But, no disrespect, please reconsider the background music.
This is so utterly overbuilt and extreme… and it is amazing. Love the detail and attention put into every aspect of the build.
Thank you so much!
What glorious overkill!!!! What a wonderful, colossal waste of time!!!! I LOVE IT, and can't wait to see more of your inspirational builds
Thank you so much!
dont apologize for being an artist and wanting the dust collector system to look and match a certain way.

Finally, a DC build that has some aesthetics.

I will see if I can get that info. Just based on general suction it does well. I’ll need to get a meter for CFM. Now you have me curious!
It ended up at about $800-900 I believe.

Awesome videos, why do you not have new videos? You should update even if it’s short videos .
Thanks! I agree...I need more videos. I have a couple in the works. Life just got a bit busy. :)
Nice build however the “music” was obnoxious.
I've been hearing that. Live and learn! I'll try to tone it down a bit for future videos. :)
can you tell me the model number of the central machinery dust collector that you used for this build? Thanks!
97869
How did you connect the pvc to the filter
Tape to seal and a couple of machine self tapping screws.
Do you have measurements for the stand? And your strut cuts for this.
Base is 36x21, Uprights are 67.5", Horizontal top strut is 32.5", Horizontal end struts are 17".
Thanks for the info very much

Essentially about 2 microns of dust. The Dust Deputy separates the larger dust and then the Rockler filter takes it down to 1 micron. The difference between 3 and 1 microns is pretty significant. Also, this handles more volume than a shop vac.
Probably several hundred CFM worth of benefit too. Shop vacs pull around 120 CFM. This system is probably 600-800 at the end of the flex hose
