It's a great release that is essential for anybody collecting Bruce Lee movies & documentaries

Here in the states Warrior's Journey was available as an extra on the first Enter the Dragon DVD back in 1998, which was the debut here of the longer cut of the film. It then was rereleased with the HD DVD release of Enter the Dragon in 2006. When HD DVD went defunct and the movie was rereleased on Blu Ray A Warriors Journey was removed and has never been released with Enter the Dragon since.

Warriors journey is great documentary. Totally agree. There's so much out there on Bruce Lee, if you're non the wiser you'll end up wasting your money . Great review👌

Just bear in mind that sadly the audio quality is really poor for the Mike Leeder audio commentaries that he did for Shout! Factory. A real shame as the content itself is very good. He’s such a knowledgable guy. 🤩
@cheekster777 cheers mate, I think I've listened to all the Bey Logan commentaries and really enjoyed them...sad to see he had some controversy and is pretty much dropped from new projects now 😵💫 I think I remember hearing that Mike Leeder one that had dodgy sound! Thanks for this ranking and I think I will be spinning a few of these older commentaries in the forthcoming months 🤔🤩🤩👍👍

Great video, mate. Excellent documentary, I've misplaced my copy (I'll have to pick it up again). It's one of the best Bruce documentaries in my humble opinion 👍

I have that particular DVD of Enter the Dragon, i kept it due to having A Warriors Journey.
I enjoyed John Little's version of GOD & felt the sound effects were more realistic & a little better than the Hong Kong Legends version, both were a good showing though.

I'd forgotten it had the Warriors Journey documentary on it, i pulled it out the other week & had a watch, i must have bought it 15 years since, maybe longer.@@MondoChelloveckMovies
A number of people do think it is due to a rights issue (Fortune Star) as to why A Warrior's Journey has long since been dropped from re-releases of Enter the Dragon on physical media. I'd be surprised if Arrow Video didn't try to include it in their Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest Boxset.
Pretty much always seems to be the case Cheekster 🥴🥴🤣 the old rights issues, I agree, I bet Arrow would of had it on their list of "wants" 🤔😊😊👍👍
According to the dvd-compare page for this documentary the Warner Bros R2 and R4 include a 5.1 track plus extras and audio commentary whereas the version included on certain 2-Disc Special Edition releases of Enter the Dragon only have 2.0 audio and no audio commentary.
It was included on quite a few different releases at that time Cheekster and was a very welcome extra but since then it appears to have dropped off from literally every release as an extra sadly! Thanks for the info mate 🤩🤩👍👍
Hi John. I have the Aussie Blu-ray it has the 4 documentaries on it. Same classic poster cover as the 2-disc DVD and the printing on the disc is the same with the dragon on it. I never knew the 40th Anniversary was a newer scan so I never bothered with it as I didn’t think the cover was that great either. I try not to double dip on anything. Perhaps I unwittingly made the right choice 👍😜
Hey Wolf, yeah you made a great call there didn't you 🤩🤩👏👏 I always think that stuff gets ported over and the Bruce Lee releases always have a ton of extras on the back and this documentary seemed to get lost in the mix for me, I went looking on my releases of Enter the Dragon and was quite shocked to see it was dropped off the lot (and still gone) yeah keep that one mate 😁😁👌👌

If you have any badly scratched discs you can take in a CEX & they will spin it through their machine & clean it & get any scratches out for a charge of £2, i was on a Chuck Norris kick & was on the fourth season of "Walker Texas Ranger" a U.S dvd release & one of the discs it was smudged with grease marks like somebody left a cheese toastie on it melted & they got the marks of clean !
I always find that any documentary & info on "Game of death" always intriguing to what the movie could of been, some Bruce Lee documentaries can be hit or miss, one i picked up recently titled "The Curse of the dragon- Death by misadventure Brandon Lee -Bruce Lee" which was okay but some of it was nonsense on a few theories, might have to track this on dvd on its own cheap.
Hi Carlos, I've had a disc cleaned by CEX before and I was completely amazed by how good the disc looked afterwards 😲👌 probably end up doing this with this documentary, it's a great watch, slight flavours of Final Game of Death (obviously not in that league) but one of the best previous documentaries out there 👌👌 I've seen Curse of the Dragon and it does get a bit crazy with its theories doesn't it 😳😳😱😱🤣🤣 cheers again Carlos 😁😁👍👍
Great info on this one John 👍 cheers. I think I have the VHS version of this with some artcards. I've just picked up a copy on DVD from Music Magpie for £2. I will be opening the Arrow boxset tomorrow as its my birthday can't wait! Just checked nope its another documentary set I post some pics on Instagram 👍

I had that two disc DVD and gave it to a charity shop when I upgraded to the blu ray. 😫

I didn't "future think" in those days....these days I always double check if a release has been FULLY improved and the old copy is TOTALLY redundant 🤔🤣🤣🤣
Hi , I originally bought this on vhs video.many many moons ago before dvds existed. I have since got that extra documentary copy on the Enter The Dragon 2 Disc Special Edition when it first came out. I did notice on Amazon quite some time ago, it was hard to find. I think that Golden Harvest Box set has given it a new lease of life because it's available in abundance now on ETD 2 disc. It's a great documentary. I wonder now will other Bruce lee dvd's make an appearance, from him being on tv and chat shows ? I have a few interviews on cassette tape I got when I was a member of the Bruce Lee Kung Fu magazine fan club. Oddly I have the so called "Lost Interview" on dvd ... and it if it was lost then it must mean the film of it, as the cassette tapes include that interview I got years before. Well I hope the success of the Golden Harvest release brings about more screen gems. I wonder if Jackie Chan will get the same treatment. Although I have most already [ many on vhs ] It would be great to get a Blue Ray Box Set : Dragons Forever / Wheels on Meals / Police Story / Armour of God / Project A, among the essentials. Imagine that lot & documentaries on a similar Box Set ? Oooo ! Great video John, and well worth getting if not in anyone's collection. Regards Jim
Thanks for the great comment Jim 😊😊👍👍 I think it's a great documentary and I honestly thought I had it on some form but must have been on the special edition dvd I got rid of way back 🤔😱 I love "the Lost interview" you get a form of it on "Bruce Lee in his own words" would have been great if they could have found an unedited version of that! It's on UA-cam (colourised) which looks quite good 🤔😊 yeah a massive Jackie Chan box set would be amazing wouldn't it Jim 😁😁😁 I would like a best of Brucesploitation box set as well 😊😊🤞🤞 thanks again Jim 🤩🤩👍👍

Remember buying this when it first came out.
To see all that Bruce Lee had shot for game of death was amazing.
The 1978 version cut most of what Bruce Lee had shot.
I would love if they could do a new movie of game of death with all the Bruce Lee stuff intact.
Yeah it was quite a landmark release at the time Paul, really glad to pick it up again 😁😁 that would be the pinnacle if they could film another "first half" of the movie to go with this masterpiece 😊😊👌👌
I have the ultra rare Australian metalpak edition for A Warrior‘s Journey (as well as In Pursuit of the Dragon (the Aussie DVD for IPOTD runs a little longer than the US DVD) as part of double feature which is called Fire and Water collection) shipped and still waiting for it to arrive at home. That’s by far the best edition for this ultimate documentary about Bruce Lee by a fellow Canadian John Little so far but sadly it is out of print as I‘ve been lucky to find it for reasonable price.
Haven’t seen “The Story” featurette yet but having look at some clips from that same featurette recently, I do agree that it’s a bit corny to say the least just because the choice of having a short-haired guy who played Bruce Lee (of course played by a Korean as the story of the original film was taken place in Korea) was awkwardly bad compared to the Final Game of Death‘s choice for Bruce Lee character (with more Bruce Lee lookalike characteristics such as long hair and sunglasses). And the Cantonese dubbing for Koreans portraying the Lee family including Bruce Lee himself was hilariously atrocious, well for me anyways (it‘s better for me to watch it with narration voiceover over dubbing these characters however).
Great info Carman, when I was going to pick up this documentary, I saw the other John Little doc either with it or stand alone but it wasn't cheap 😱😱🤣 so I went for this version, great that you have got that great release and "the story" part is a quite interesting little addition but as you say the actors aren't Chinese and it really alters the dynamics of it....saying that it would be great to see it done again properly 🤔🤔 thanks for the info and watching Carman 🤩🤩👍👍

John, have you watched Bruce Lee in G.O.D. (aka Shibōteki Yūgi)? A 2000 Japanese documentary. This movie shows Lee's original vision of the movie through the existing footage that was shot for the movie before he died, interviews, and historical re-enactments of what went on behind the scenes.
It's worth tracking down and watching imo.

Was always my ‘go to’ if I wanted to visit Bruce’s original footage. Had it since it came out.
The Final Game Of Death is clearly more complete ( log scene and dailies), but it holds an important place.
In contrast, I dislike the Criterion Collection version, immensely. Silly music, silly voices.
I agree that it was previously the one to watch when checking out the Game of Death footage 🤔🤩🤩 the Final Game of Death has taken that crown, but its still a very interesting side piece on the Game of Death "evolution" never thought about the Criterion version DB 🤔 never thought they did their own! Glad u haven't seen it after hearing what you say mate 😱😁😁👌👌
