I was scrolling before I commented because I wanted to shout out the same thing! Bea, I love that you were able to say that so nonchalantly. That is truly great to hear.
I am 20 days in with absolutely no sugar, I ended up doing a 2 day fast and felt so good, I could have kept going but my husband was bugging me to eat. I broke my fast with a tablespoon of olive oil and some lettuce. Going for 30 days and will incorporate fruit. I want to help my liver get healthy again. So far dropped 17 pounds and looking forward to each day without pain. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I've tried to quit sugar and it's hard AF, so I give you all the credit for smashing it like you did. One of the weird things that happened when I did cut back was that my eye "floaters" disappeared. I've been thinking about trying it again, but one of my stumbling blocks is the free meal replacement drinks that I get from my health insurance. They are sugary, but using them for one meal a day really helps with my food budget. I'll have to think about it a little more.
I wonder if your insurance company has a version of those drinks that are intended for diabetics? Maybe those would be a low/no sugar option for you. I understand about needing to eat what is available to you that you can afford. I'm dependent on free food pantries and sometimes it is a choice of not very healthy food vs no food. People who are not food insecure can be so judgemental about what we who are in poverty go through. I can't just go out and purchase a more healthful option, because I don't have the money to pay for it. All of my food stamps money goes on vegetables and fruit. Free food pantries provide the rest and there is not a choice.
@@hollywebster6844 Technically, they do, but they are always sold out. Also, they are 10 bucks each, as opposed to $30 for 24 of the sugary ones. The benefit gives me $250 per quarter.
I also have PCOS, and let me tell ya, added sugar is really bad for us. I've been slowly cutting down on added sugar and I'm already feeling better. quitting sugar makes you realize how everything has a bit of sugar in it, which is sad really.
Giiiirrrrlllll there's a huge difference! I have very insulin resistant PCOS and binge eating disorder and did this challenge with you. I paired it with a DietBet....because $$$. I'm so glad I did it! This was the first time I've fully cut out sugar and it's been AMAZING! I gave myself some cheats over the weekend when it was over and definitely noticed those sweets weren't as good. Keep it up girl!
Migraines are what's causing me to lower and eventually quit sugar. I cant wait to experience the OTHER benefits! This subject came at exactly the right time! Congrats on the transformation! Looking great!
Great job!!! I gave up sugar over a week ago and I have found that replacing it with healthy fats kept me from having headaches. Still haven’t found a remedy for the crankiness and rage though so…. 😢😅
Your skin tone improved, less visible acne, less dark under eye circles, change in face shape, you smile a hella lot more, and your body is visibly more tight and toned. I think you found the magic formula. Dont let anyone rain on your parade ! There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to finding what works for you on your journey. So proud of what you are able to achieve for yourself and appreciate you being so candid in sharing this with us all. You are an inspiration.
Omg you got the old intro back!! Loved how frank you were throughout the video and the fact that you got something out of this challenge. All the best on your mission, Bea
Everything everyone else said + I *LOVED* hearing notes of Intuitive Eating: don't restrict, pay attention to what your body tells you (how did that food make me feel, am I satisfied or full or overfull, what does each feel like, etc). You have learned SO MUCH in your journey and it's FLIPPING RAD to watch you grow (and grow along with you). Way to go Bea! Do the things!
Except that's not going to work for a lot of people. If someone puts a lot of sugar in their tea, their intuition isn't going to tell them to go for tea without sugar. It's going to be a matter of restricting the sugar in their tea until their tastebuds readjust and the taste of tea with a lot of sugar seems sickly sweet to them.
I'm really proud of you for a few things. One, you were not going after sugar like it's evil, you were simply removing a source of sugar that you wanted to see if you could live without it. I'm really glad you were impressed by how quickly will power entered the chat - me too! Two, you leaned into your strengths like cooking, data collection and learning to help you stay motivated. Those are really healthy things to be interested in. And thirdly, I love that you didn't force your partner to participate. I think you did this challenge in a really fun way that helped you truly test the boundaries of your cravings and you learned that you've got some great will power when you listen to your body! And sometimes when it's begging for sugar, it actually just wants something else. Way to go!
So for the croutons, you see sugar because you have to feed the yeast something in order for it to bloom and do its yeasty job. The yeast eats most, if not all of the sugar.
The difference is amazing! If there is one thing i find awesome about you, it is how transparent you are with everything that you do. you're doing such a great job :)
THANK YOU for breaking down added sugar vs natural sugar!!! So many ppl are like 'fruit ruins your diet!' No all its nutrients is important and their natural sugars help keep blood sugars level!
Great to see you again! Watching this gave me flashbacks to when I subscribed to your channel back in 2020, the you sitting down at your desk and talking to us-thing. I dunno, it just made me happy 😊
As someone with rheumatoid arthritis; cooking ahead of time and freezing meals helps SO MUCH!!! Also, I think the salt thing is fine. Your results are amazing, I'm so happy for you! I definitely saw a difference. I also appreciate you adding all of the weight and measurement conversions, that was very considerate of you
I appreciate your honesty and transparency. I love your use of the word "experiment" and your report of how you feel mentally and physically, after the 22 days. It is about educating yourself and I have learned from this video that there is dextrose in iodized salt! What?!! It really is a matter of balance and not a restrictive, forever thing. That's what works for me re: processed sugar, as well as a number of other things in life. 💜
Lots of bread will have trace amounts of sugar added because it's used to activate yeast! It's usually like 1 teaspoon in what will make like a batch of 2 loaves but that would be how they get away with not listing it I guess? When I make yeast risen bread instead of sourdough I need to add sugar to the warm water and yeast so the yeast wakes up and eats the sugar lol. Like little cups of coffee for it. Also. I was literally was slamming tropical tictacs as I watched this.......
This is so amazing!! To anyone else trying to lose weight, people who are lighter to begin with will lose weight slower. You may also gain more muscle. Don’t stress if you aren’t losing at quickly. Again, this is amazing!!
Once i was determined, the cravings went away. It wasn't hard. Actually had where bread, sugar anything, soda and everything dairy looked gross. All things i found i am allergic to. Great job sticking to it!!
I noticed a considerable difference in your midsection. Good on you! I really want to try this, especially for my chronic pain. I don't currently have the willpower.
Hello Bea, what a remarkable result from a challenge that you committed to and achieved! This is just the beginning. I love how you were able to set your goal and see it through. Changing eating patterns is very difficult but you’re showing how much you love yourself by doing so. You gave your body the opportunity of rebooting and “cleansing” itself. Keep up the good work. Day by day. Blessings sent your way.
I definitely see a difference in the before and after pictures. Your honesty is on point. Recognizing the change in your mindset definitely was a benefit to help you thru. Great job and thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed hearing about your most recent experiment with sugar! I've lost 76 lb in 10 months simply by giving up anything with sugar in it, eating minimal processed foods, and eliminating obvious carbs - rice, pasta, potatoes, bread (all the usual suspects). So I guess you could say I'm doing a low carb thing, although I still get plenty of carbs from healthy vegetables and some fruit. But literally no exercise or working out. I do plan to start adding that because after losing 76 lb I have the energy to do it now. But it is pretty amazing what simple changes can do. (I thought there was significant difference in your before and after pictures.).
You look great! 17 lbs is 17 lbs!!! This video is inspiring me. Thank you for sharing your journey. This is an eye opener for those of us who have PCOS bc we easily get addicted to sugar. This gives me hope. I hope you are well XO
I asked my patient today when I first saw her my normal “and how are you doing? “And her quick reply was “well I’m still fat” . I’m a physical therapist so it took me off guard because we are not working on her weight but her balance/strength. She has some cognition problems so it was just funny that was her response. So my reply was “girlllll me too, me too” 😂
physical therapists should encourage weight loss as well even if you're not a nutritionist. Just give them basic guidelines that everyone should follow.
I see a huge difference in your pictures and your numbers!!! I've watched nearly all of your videos and have seen your journey from the get go, but I don't think I've ever commented. This was worth breaking the silence. You are amazing and getting there! I'm stoked for you and your progress. You're awesome!!
That's some impressive results ! When I saw the pictures my reaction was : Woaw what a difference ! but I understand how it's always more difficult to see changes in ourselves than in others. This video gave me some kind of hope, I need to cut down sugar too, not to lose weight, I'm quite slim, and since I started adhd meds 2 years ago I lost even more weight, I'm just above my IMC limit right now, but my diet is really bad, I'm really struggling to eat healthy (sometimes even eating at all), somedays I only eat sugar. It's getting worse and worse and I know I have to do something about it. I quit smoking weed two weeks ago, I've been addicted to it for 25 years, it was my priority, and I know my next challenge is gonna be the sugar addiction... It helped me to ear you say it was not that difficult in the end, Makes me believe i can do it too. I'm French, we don't have so much sugar in our daily food but our bakeries are so full of temptations ! I'm used to eat 2 "pains au chocolat" every morning, I think that is the first thing I have to change to make it possible. So again, thank you for this video, it's very helpful ! Keep up the good work Bea, you are crushing it !
I loved your video, you look great in just 22 days!! I live in NZ and I’m going to start added sugar free on Jan 1st 2025. I’m about 35 lb overweight and I’m 68 with a weight and sugar addiction all my life. I exercise daily and only drink water so 2 positives to start but I’m dreading the withdrawals and cravings. You’ve inspired me to get organised re food and start cooking again ( I despise cooking but I’m going to have to suck it up). Thank you Bea.
there is a HUGE difference and you look INCREDIBLE. there is added sugar in basically EVERYTHING you should be so proud of urself!!!! you are now 1/4th into your goal!
Loving your hair after it has mellowed a bit, looks and compliments you. You can definitely see the difference in the mid section. Regardless of weight loss if you are feeling better (even with being winter sick 😕) it is a win. It takes time and energy to find what works for you. Enjoy the process and the knowledge gained.
Wow! I'm seriously shocked at your before and after photos! Congratulations!! I also switched over to a non hormonal birth control!! I had nexplanon in my arm for years and struggled with gaining weight. No matter what I did, I couldn't lose the weight. 6 months ago I got the hormonal birth control removed and got the copper iud instead, and wow, what a huge difference that has made!! I couldn't believe how much the hormones from BC were affecting my physical health and mental health! ❤ congratulations again! Absolutely love watching your journey!
That's a huge difference in numbers and visual appearance, i was shocked when you said you didn't notice a difference. I started watching your videos before I had any intention of losing weight and in the past year I've gained a ton and am wanting to lose it, so coming across your videos again after a while was nice and is reminding me to make changes too.
whoa ive never been this early. watching now! hope you feel better soon bea (but also i'm the one person who craves tapioca pudding LOL) congrats on your results!! 17+ pounds in less than a month is remarkable
most bread is made with sugar to activate the yeast, the croutons could have just been listing that sugar in the ingredients but the finished crouton probably had the most minescule amount
Girl, how can you NOT see the huge difference in your before and after photos?! ~ totally enjoy watching you go! Amazing, no exaggeration. Great video, completely love you, and hope you start feeling 100% better super soon. You’re killin’ it, keep up all the things.
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at the same time you started this. Its a small thing but seeing you do this with delicious foods involved was encouraging. Being pregnant changes how much I'm losing and such but about 10 pounds have come off since starting it about 6 weeks ago.
It's actually very normal. The taste buds actually change depening what you eat. I think they have an age of 8 days. So if you don't have sugar for a month it's bound to not taste the same. For me it tends to taste more artificial.
@@BeatriceCaruso Start with episode 100 of the Chris Terrell podcast to get a good introduction to his approach. It’s all about going slow and being sustainable. He lost 125 in 2 years and has kept it off for years.
Let me first preface by saying I’m going to use words that you said so people in the comments do not come for me lol I do agree with you, saying that your body looks less droopy, and I think that has to do with the fact that you were more mindful with what you were putting in your body and you weren’t putting those extra sugars in your body that might’ve been weighing it down versus now you have probably no more excess sugar in your body so your body feels very light Keep it up girl I’m so damn proud. I’ve been watching you for so long.❤️❤️❤️❤️✨
That difference in not even a month is astounding don't sell yourself short, great work. This video is very inspiring since I've been struggling with keeping up my healthy habits after struggling with BED for so many years. So thank you for showing it's not all that hard to keep up with something like this.
I definitely see a difference just between your video of the 1st day compared to now. I had a friend lose a lot of weight quickly and I asked her how and she said she just quit added sugar. I was blown away.
I guess it shouldn’t be so surpising though, because first of all, most foods contain added sugar. Bea said something like 78% - and if they included meat, fruit and veg in that number (the base number not the 78%) that would mean if you left out unprocessed food, it’s be more like 92% or more! But the other thing is how sugar makes us so much hungrier. So abstaining from sugar would cut the appetite, and then the rule would make it so you’d have to eat pretty healthy .. ❤
I think you crushed this!! Awesome video... very thorough... great results!! Also, Happy Belated Birthday Bea!! I hope your day was extra special!! 🫶🏻🎂
17 POUNDS! I would be over the moon by this. I have the metabolism of a snail. 5 lbs. lost in about 45 days. I asked my Husband last night if he would cook dinner, he asked me why I couldn't, I said "I have to exercise." His response " you act like that is one of the chores" I responded rather explosively " YOU DON'T THINK IT'S A CHORE!!", Bea this is a win for reals!!! good job girl, good job!!!!
I see that hourglass shape forming in the after picture. Way to go darling you did great 👍🏾! I LOVE sugar so pray for me because I’m not sure what else to do that I know I’ll stick to.
Abbey Sharp is a Canadian registered dietician who has some really helpful videos on quitting sugar and how to achieve satiety without sugar. She is on youtube.
This is like such a small thing, but I have a theory about the crouton scandal: I think they listed sugar as an ingredient because to make a loaf of bread you use sugar to feed the yeast, but then the yeast eats all the sugar during the proofing process so by the time they tested the final product for the nutritional information, they found that there wasn't any sugar.

Wow! AMAZING progress! I also noticed, besides the weight loss, your skin cleared up drastically, you were straight up glowing, and it appeared as though you had quite a bit more energy! I’m sooo proud of you B! Keep up the AMAZING work!! 🥰
Did you just say you haven't binged in a year?! CONGRATULATIONS! That's absolutely huge and would love a video on that - unless that's triggering!
There are plenty of powders that don't have any. Powder, 1C milk (lactose free or nut), 1/2C fruit.
I've had floaters for two years. You've inspired me
I wonder if your insurance company has a version of those drinks that are intended for diabetics?
Maybe still do it, but just don't count those drinks? I grew up poor and am still struggling so I get it.
Well done!
Definitely a visible difference. And don't forget the unseen improvements! It's insane.
Migraines are what's causing me to lower and eventually quit sugar. I cant wait to experience the OTHER benefits! This subject came at exactly the right time! Congrats on the transformation! Looking great!
I think you are a real hero - the one who does not consider herself a hero yet so inspirational. And the humor…
Thanks for the data in cm! ❤
Also, there is DEFINITELY a visible difference between your before and after pictures!
All the best in your journey! 😊
the transparency of the data is 👍🏻👍🏻
Great job!!!
I gave up sugar over a week ago and I have found that replacing it with healthy fats kept me from having headaches.
Still haven’t found a remedy for the crankiness and rage though so…. 😢😅
I see a HUGE difference, and your skin is glowing! Well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wow! I can’t believe you do not see such a huge transformation. That is a ton of inches and weight lost. That is incredible. Way to go.
Girl !!!! You look FABULOUS. Not just the weight loss. You’re legit glowing.
I dunno, it just made me happy 😊
right? i feel the same way, it's like hanging out with a friend chit chatting
What the- that’s a HUGE difference!??!? AMAZING PROGRESS. why is she saying it like it’s no biggieeee 😭
good job!! keep going 🥳
Have loved watching the shorts from this challenge! Inspireddd 😤
There is definitely a huge difference! your getting there girl! keep going !
Yeah that’s a good point, like how much sugar is leftover after the yeast eat it? 🤔
This is so amazing!! To anyone else trying to lose weight, people who are lighter to begin with will lose weight slower. You may also gain more muscle. Don’t stress if you aren’t losing at quickly.
Again, this is amazing!!
Consistancy is key! Keep going! It’s working!
I hope you feel better soon! You deserve to feel good too after all your hard work.
You're doing a great job with your journey! Keep going ❤
So impressed with your commitment, honesty and results! Celebrate your wins ❤🎉
So my reply was “girlllll me too, me too” 😂
My response is, well I'm alive. Lol
Id be like join the club girl me too do u see this ass 😂😂
physical therapists should encourage weight loss as well even if you're not a nutritionist. Just give them basic guidelines that everyone should follow.
Carnivore is good way to lose weight
Happy belated birthday, Bea!! You look great. I can totally see the difference.
there is a HUGE difference and you look INCREDIBLE. there is added sugar in basically EVERYTHING you should be so proud of urself!!!! you are now 1/4th into your goal!
Glad you're back! Because of your videos my husband decided to try it ❤
Girl….you did amazing! Please be proud of yourself!
Whoa you look WAY less inflamed! Ie. Less puffy. I’m gonna try it too ❤😄😄
I see a big difference! Awesome job!
Love you Bea! Feel better and thanks for posting!
That's a huge difference in numbers and visual appearance, i was shocked when you said you didn't notice a difference. I started watching your videos before I had any intention of losing weight and in the past year I've gained a ton and am wanting to lose it, so coming across your videos again after a while was nice and is reminding me to make changes too.
whoa ive never been this early. watching now!
hope you feel better soon bea
(but also i'm the one person who craves tapioca pudding LOL)
congrats on your results!! 17+ pounds in less than a month is remarkable
Cozy shack tapioca pudding. No added sugar. Decent
most bread is made with sugar to activate the yeast, the croutons could have just been listing that sugar in the ingredients but the finished crouton probably had the most minescule amount
Girl, how can you NOT see the huge difference in your before and after photos?! ~ totally enjoy watching you go! Amazing, no exaggeration. Great video, completely love you, and hope you start feeling 100% better super soon. You’re killin’ it, keep up all the things.
yess, Bea is one of my favorites on the internet, so refreshing
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at the same time you started this. Its a small thing but seeing you do this with delicious foods involved was encouraging. Being pregnant changes how much I'm losing and such but about 10 pounds have come off since starting it about 6 weeks ago.
It's actually very normal. The taste buds actually change depening what you eat. I think they have an age of 8 days. So if you don't have sugar for a month it's bound to not taste the same. For me it tends to taste more artificial.
Great Job!! You are so real about things and i appreciate that!! have you ever mentioned how and where you met your Steven??
My grandma gave us Tang for breakfast! "If it's good enough for the astronauts it's good enough for you." 😂
I remember it being delicious HOWEVER, upon revisiting it definitely wasn’t good tasting lol
@@BeatriceCaruso for sure!
@@BeatriceCaruso I feel that way about most sodas. Especially Mountain Dew and colas.
@@BeatriceCaruso Start with episode 100 of the Chris Terrell podcast to get a good introduction to his approach. It’s all about going slow and being sustainable. He lost 125 in 2 years and has kept it off for years.
@@ma3680 Who is this you are writing about?
Let me first preface by saying I’m going to use words that you said so people in the comments do not come for me lol
I do agree with you, saying that your body looks less droopy, and I think that has to do with the fact that you were more mindful with what you were putting in your body and you weren’t putting those extra sugars in your body that might’ve been weighing it down versus now you have probably no more excess sugar in your body so your body feels very light Keep it up girl I’m so damn proud. I’ve been watching you for so long.❤️❤️❤️❤️✨
So glad you are back! ❤
Happy birthday Bea! Hope this year is fantastic and all your birthday wishes come true! 🎉🎂🥳
Bea! You look great! Hope you're feeling better ❤
I think you crushed this!! Awesome video... very thorough... great results!! Also, Happy Belated Birthday Bea!! I hope your day was extra special!! 🫶🏻🎂
4 cm is a clothing size, so you’ve lost 1 size of top and 2 of bottom clothing pieces! It makes descent visual difference. Nice job 👏🏻
I can totally see the difference- I think just because you’re so used to looking at yourself 😊😊 don’t stress my love
I see a TREMENDOUS difference in your photos! Outstanding work!!! 🎉
WOWOWOWOWOWO! Huge Congratulamations!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
I see a marked difference between those photos! You are def hard on yourself. WTG Bea!😊
Man... Your husband sucks...
I see that hourglass shape forming in the after picture. Way to go darling you did great 👍🏾! I LOVE sugar so pray for me because I’m not sure what else to do that I know I’ll stick to.

I think we all slammed orange tictaks as children didn't we?🤣
Ugh, no! Kitkats, yes! lol
For me, it was mini Chiclets but I grew up in the 70s. 😊
You totally thrived with this challenge ~ you look awesome! Good job, & ready for some more “Tea with Bea”
You go Glenn Coco!
You. Were. Missed. Seriously!! Your transparency is always refreshing and helpful!! Love Ya!
girl, that's a huge difference! Good job!!!
You’re alive! 🎉❤
Sorry it took so long!
@@BeatriceCarusoYou have NOTHING to apologize for. You were SICK for goodness sakes!!!!
@@BeatriceCarusonoo! Just glad you’re getting through it like a boss :)
