I did ballet for 10 years and did 4 Nutcrackers (all Balanchine yet very memorable for me). Here is some commentary I have: -The Russian dance was the best I have ever seen, like they were in time, the choreography went with the timing, everyone was clapping to the beat, it was really fun to watch them. -I love the fact that Marie is played by a young adult and does the Sugarplum Fairy variation. Her expressions and acting were amazing! -props to whoever played Drosselmeier, dancing with a long cape is hard! Also loved his acting and expressions. His movements were sharp and clean.
@@lechatleblanc yeah that's the biggest pet peeve with this company. I hate it when three different groups are on different sides of the stage doing different choreography, it's distracting to me.
Reach for your dreams!! I’m 12 and I’m performing The Nutcracker, my goal is also to be a professional but it takes a lot of hard work I know you can do it!!
I’m thirteen and I’m taller than the other girls so I cant do pas but this year I’m Clara cause there’s no pas. Reach for your dreams long and hard enough and you will get them
I did ballet when I was 9-10 then had to quit because it was too expensive, but now I'm 13 and starting ballet again. I was in russian when I was 10 and now I am able to do it again!
Follow your dreams! I do ballet and this year for my studios nutcracker I’m in family scene, battle scene and candy canes! If I can do all 3 at my age, you can do anything! 💗
One year when I did the Nutcracker, I remember being in the green room during the snowflake waltz. The music was approaching 43:20, when the vocalists join the orchestra, and it's supposed to be really a gorgeous part. Instead, the first person who started singing had started an octave lower than they were supposed to, and everyone else had no choice but to follow along. Which may not sound like a big deal. But instead of this ethereal, angelic sound, like falling snow, we got something weird and manly sounding, kind of like if you picture a grown man in a ballerina outfit. Everyone in the room literally looked up from what they were doing at the same time, with the same expression of disbelief. I think the director was also there, horrified, but also on the verge of laughter.
My daughter is 5 years old and started ballet. I randomly decided to play this and put it in front of her face. I ended up streaming it to my TV, and She's been glued to the television ever since.
I can see why, the story is timeless! My granddaughters had their first performances in south Florida this week and I don't know who had more fun, the girls, their parents or me.
My Mum loved The Nutcracker and this is our first Christmas without her. I heard the prelude in another program, and my eyes welled up with tears. I hope that she is able to watch a performance of The Nutcracker from up in Heaven, together with our Dad. I try to focus on the fact that she is reunited with our Dad (because she never got over his death) and that they are both in Heaven now, because they were both good Christians. Anyone reading this, if your parents are still alive, please give them an extra hug and tell them that you love them. Years later, you will look back and be very glad that you did this.

I have seen the Nutcracker twice. As a personal trainer, I have an awe and deep respect for the ballerinas who perform this. My roommate and I just saw it live tonight. I am brought to tears. It is that wonderful.
Since I was a little girl I wait every Christmas for watch the Nutcracker in Public TV. Now I can enjoy it in UA-cam but my dream is watch it in person.
me too! I was a party guest for 2 years) angel for 1 year, polichinelle/clown kid that comes out of mother ginger (but we didn't have a mother ginger) for a year.
Oh goodness, now I feel quite sad before watching. In my dance studios traveling modified nutcracker (performed for nursing homes and children’s hospitals!) I played the Coffee :(. I think it may be due to the fact that Arabian can be regarded as culturally insensitive to people who are actually Arabian if it is done by white dancers.
From when I was a little girl until now, an older woman, this was my birthday present. First from my parents and then from my children. I have such wonderful memories that come back every single time I hear even a few notes of this absolutely beautiful music.
I love this Russian production of the Nutcracker. There is something different about it that makes me want to be there in person. Yes, I would travel to Russia to see this.
i tried on pointe shoes once because i am in dance just not ballet. oh my god. let me tell you. to even get yourself on your toes is a struggle. pure insanity that they can dance around and make it look like gravity doesn't exist because oh my goodness when i tell you how hard it was
Did you get your teachers approval saying that your ready and even if you did if they’re still really hard to just eleve walk around your home in them to break them in
i feel like sharing tonight so, i used to go to see the nutcracker with my birth mother every year. it was one of the only times she was nice to me, we didn’t fight and she didn’t make me feel like shit about myself. we haven’t been in over five years, first because of money issues but after a year it was because i couldn’t have her in my life anymore. it’s been almost three years since i last saw her, she isn’t apart of my life anymore, and it’s better this way but, i miss going every year. i miss going as a child, dressing up in a fancy velvet dress and mini heels, i miss walking into the theater so excited for the performance to start, i miss my innocence, my happiness, and i miss my mother. but she cannot be in my life, she’s toxic and terrible to me. this was so comforting to watch.
This is a lovely and sweet production. I don't understand the thumbs down ratings. The scenery, especially for the snow scenes, is some of the prettiest I have seen (and I have seen many productions and am a dancer). The costumes are pretty and creative without being overly fussy. The dancing is excellent. And, the orchestration is excellent. This is a sweet and enjoyable performance. Thank you for this enjoyable production.
the nutcracker has always been a huge part of my life because I preformed in it when I was younger and it was my first big performance. recently, I have been getting into ballet and seeing this makes my jaw drop because those were what the older kids were doing when I was younger and I looked up to them. thank you for this
I've always loved Christmas but when I watched the nut cracker ballet it just came a live for me .Christmas and the ballet nut cracker go together. AMEN 🙏
This is by far, the best rendition. They actually let Clara and The Prince meet at the end! No other Theatre did this. Thanks to Barbie, i came to know of the story and really wanted to see the ballet when i grow up. i'm 30, and thanks to the internet, i can finally see the magic with my own eyes~ i'm so happy to see that! Brava~! Wonderful presentation~! Love, from Egypt~ ♥
to me, the 'nutcracker prince' at the end 1:25:18 seems a bit like fritz, but it may just be because the same guy does both characters. but the clothing looks like fritz as well, so i wouldn't say for sure...
Marie and the Prince meeting again at the end of the story is actually accurate to the original book (yes, it was a book before it was a ballet, and yes, the protagonist's original name is indeed Marie). It's a very delightful read, with a lot of stuff that none of the ballet versions include, such as an entire backstory for the Nutcracker that Drosselmeyer tells to Marie as a bedtime story, which turns out to be true.
@@crunchybubblewrap not really sure the same person played the two parts, despite the video description. I feel like the one dancing Marie’s brother was dancing the chinese doll man
@@crunchybubblewrap The guy who played The Prince throughout the play, was the same guy that showed up at the end. It seems like indeed they showed Fritz. Either way, that was so good on them to show that. :)
@@curtthegamer934 Thank you so much for the background info! Actually, all i know of this, comes from Barbie, and that story made it so that the Nutcracker's story indeed turned out to be true! i'm glad that, that's the original version! Makes this, that much more special now! :)

I have been listening to this music my whole life and when my daughter was age 3 I began taken her 50 years ago. Though she is the hip hop generation she has an appreciation for the experience of classical music.
It is i saw it too when it was on tour in Germany the performance was so breathtaking i watch the nutcracker every Christmas it is a tradition the company in my hometown is doing it every Christmas well not this year but i have a dvd of the nutcracker so the tradition still goes on but how i wish i could see the russian ballet again
I wish also to see the Russian Balletts again. At last it was 2011 in munich germany. I dreamed day after day of this wonderful event. Greatest ballett of the world in my opinion. Love It so much ❤ there was also Schwanensee at this time ❤
Wonderful! Fantastic! Superb! Especially the ballarina playing Marie- a knockout performance. In my mind's eye I can see Tchaikovsky on the other side applauding with a big 😊 smile!
Currently obsessing over nutcracker a month ish before auditions. God, universe, whatever is out there, please let me get waltz of the flowers and snow ❤
This is actually the first time I've seen the Nutcracker and now I am obsessed. I think I've watched four different versions, this one twice! I avoided it because I'm not big on Christmas, but I know and love the songs from Fantasia, wow I have been missing out! I hope to see a live performance in time for next Xmas! Thank you for sharing
It was always my favorite story as a kid. My dad took me to this ballet when I was really young and I can't remember if he did so because I loved it or if I loved it because he did so. I recently returned to it, reading it to my son who's nine. It's a trip to go back and see how things you barely remember in any detail clearly influenced you your whole life. Glad you came around to this story. If you have little ones they'll probably enjoy it too. I like to think of the Nutcracker as a more cultured Alice in Wonderland 😜
@Elsie Doomhammer I am happily child free but I have a niece who loves dance, I take her to a performance every year for her birthday present so I hope she will accompany me to the Nutcracker 🥰 We never had the money to go to things like this when I was growing up, so I like to take her to live performances whenever I can 💞
I remember going to a performance of The Nutcracker with my mother a long time ago. It's a shame I had little interest in the subject matter because of my immature mind. Reflecting on it all these years later, I cherish that I at least get to watch it on UA-cam. Thank you, Russian State Ballet and Opera House for reminding me of memories I had surely forgotten.
It's nice to know that, somewhere outside the hatred and destruction, there are still parents all over the world who care enough to take their children to see The Nutcracker at Christmas.
They are the superior Alchemists of this masterpiece‘s ballet. The greatness of this masterpiece‘s ballet is far superior, and off the charts, and unfathomable, and full of tribute and emotion.
so happy this is watchable on youtube! I saw the nutcracker done elsewhere and it's so cool to watch and note all the differences. really stunning. I used to work in a venue that had this ballet run there for about two months every year. sometimes my shift just involved being stationed at a door in house left that led to backstage, so I saw the nutcracker upwards of 20 times in person for two years in a row. and you know what? I never really got sick of it. It just made me love ballet :)

I remember when I was able to be at the Nutcracker performance, I LOVED it so much. I enjoyed every minute of it. Some of my classmates were rude, even though they already knew we would be seeing the Nutcracker. Some fell asleep, but I and a few classmates enjoyed every second of it.
Bravo to the choreographer who added the most important lifts at the most compelling times in the Pas de Deux! So often that glorious music loses so much of its impact when the choreography is little at those fabulously big moments! Happy, moving tears when the music and performance meld beautifully! 🥲🥰🥲 Bravo again! But I do have to wonder if Tchaikovsky is a wee bit perturbed at you ditching the Arabian dance he so beautifully composed. Perhaps not as much as I... him being dead and all. 😉😆😉 It was particularly glaring to me probably because I was one of those Arabian dancers one year! 😉😩😢 Beautiful sets and lovely costumes! It wouldn’t be Christmas without The Nutcracker! 💗🎄💗
🎄♥ It's Christmas eve, and i watched this beautiful performance! This is my favourite ballet of them all because: ✅ They showed Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy as the same person, thereby keeping the magic. ✅They show that Clara and the Prince meet for real at the end and that's the real happy ending that makes this so magical. ✅The staging and lighting is so beautiful and i love the atmosphere it creates! It's delightful~! Yes, there are some main things missing, for example, They don't show the dungeon scene, the final fight scene and the Arabian dance scene. The dance, at some points, were a bit askew (but i can't complain on that since i'm not a ballet dancer, i'm merely a spectator). But still, this is the best imo, simply because of the magic a and the feel good energy it gave. The ending is very important to me and they delivered. And that's all i need. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!🎄♥
Absolutely fantastic! The ballet, the sets, the music, so professional. Does complete justice to the original work! (who else could but russians) Must be one of the most beautiful holiday compositions ever. Hats off guys and thank you!

-props to whoever played Drosselmeier, dancing with a long cape is hard! Also loved his acting and expressions. His movements were sharp and clean.
however, it felt like 50
@@lechatleblanc yeah that's the biggest pet peeve with this company. I hate it when three different groups are on different sides of the stage doing different choreography, it's distracting to me.
I bet you wasn’t very good . 10 years is no time in ballet to be performing the nutcracker
Brisbane Australia is whereI saw the best
What a thrill to be so in tune with the performance.
I'm 10 when I grow up I'm going to be a professional ballerina
I'm now 11
Reach for your dreams!! I’m 12 and I’m performing The Nutcracker, my goal is also to be a professional but it takes a lot of hard work I know you can do it!!
Same! I’m 13
I think the director was also there, horrified, but also on the verge of laughter.
good stuff
😂 lol
Wish I could hear what that sounded like lol
Oh my gosh. 😨😨😨😨
💀😭 no omg
I just cant watch this peacefully when there is an Ad every 2.5 minutes. its too much.
That is why I use adblock, and when they want me to turn if off i just go!
it's greedy when it goes past viewers' enjoyment to point we can't watch. really is every 2.5 min - played 'skip ad' game to 22 min i'm done - watched 2 ads total so they get bit of revenue. thanks? maybe cause i'm in US and the elite establishment hack russiagaters here suck
Brother I only use “Cydia” as Cercube for UA-cam.
if you watch on a smartphone do the following: skip to the end of the video, wait for it and press replay. the ads should be gone now. :)
C`est la vie!
I came here to try to relax and fall asleep with some wholesome music and dances... But now I have watched the whole thing. Fell in love with it!
Nothing beats the classically trained russian ballet version of The Nutcracker
I had this on in the background while doing school work
Now it is school work for me
@@dreadfulbliss2257 haha good luck
Same!!!
Me too
Same!!!!!!!!
Some might say I’m different for a 12 year old boy who watched this whole entire thing and loved every second of it.
Lol
child there aint nothing wrong wit that? 0v0
You appreciate art. Music and dance...that's not different. It's who you are!
You should watch Find Me In Paris on Hulu it’s a great show
smarter, not different.
1:16:12 bis 1:17:03 Tanz der Zuckerfee: Andante non troppo, 2/4 Takt, e-moll (celesta)

5:28 bis 6:45 Marche :Tempo die marcia viva, 4/4 Takt, G-Dur

I actually came here for Trepak!
If anyone’s looking for “March of the Toy Soldiers,” it starts at 5:29
i came for dance of the sugar plum fairy
The background picture of all the spruce trees covered in snow is just so beautiful.
I have seen the Nutcracker twice. As a personal trainer, I have an awe and deep respect for the ballerinas who perform this. My roommate and I just saw it live tonight. I am brought to tears. It is that wonderful.
if the dancers aren’t my favorite part, it’s definitely the music. it makes the whole performance so much more alive.
Since I was a little girl I wait every Christmas for watch the Nutcracker in Public TV. Now I can enjoy it in UA-cam but my dream is watch it in person.
I did nutcracker every year when i was little. Its so nostalgic everytime i hear the music or see a show
Yes!! Same!
Lucky you! What a treat 🥰
Same
me too! I was a party guest for 2 years) angel for 1 year, polichinelle/clown kid that comes out of mother ginger (but we didn't have a mother ginger) for a year.
How could the director cut off one of the most impressive dances - the Coffee (Arabian) Dance?????
idk its the same thing as clara being really old
It's my favourite part of the Nutcracker and I was thinking the very same thing. 😟
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that noticed!!!
I just commented the same haha
Oh goodness, now I feel quite sad before watching. In my dance studios traveling modified nutcracker (performed for nursing homes and children’s hospitals!) I played the Coffee :(.
I think it may be due to the fact that Arabian can be regarded as culturally insensitive to people who are actually Arabian if it is done by white dancers.
I havent danced in Nutcracker for 2 years. This brought me to tears❤
❤you can again.....please??x
From when I was a little girl until now, an older woman, this was my birthday present. First from my parents and then from my children. I have such wonderful memories that come back every single time I hear even a few notes of this absolutely beautiful music.
I love this Russian production of the Nutcracker. There is something different about it that makes me want to be there in person. Yes, I would travel to Russia to see this.
That would be on my bucket list too and I will go in the future
i tried on pointe shoes once because i am in dance just not ballet. oh my god. let me tell you. to even get yourself on your toes is a struggle. pure insanity that they can dance around and make it look like gravity doesn't exist because oh my goodness when i tell you how hard it was
@BUMO LIN theres a box at the front to help with balance and pain but your toes still feel it
Did you get your teachers approval saying that your ready and even if you did if they’re still really hard to just eleve walk around your home in them to break them in
Haha yeah. It’s easier when you have had years of practice preparing for pointe though. Still hurts a lot though
They have a shit ton of experience, of course it’s still work even for them, but they have it a lot easier too
Imagine how long it would’ve taken them to do this and MEMORIZE ALL OF IT
i feel like sharing tonight so,
i used to go to see the nutcracker with my birth mother every year. it was one of the only times she was nice to me, we didn’t fight and she didn’t make me feel like shit about myself. we haven’t been in over five years, first because of money issues but after a year it was because i couldn’t have her in my life anymore. it’s been almost three years since i last saw her, she isn’t apart of my life anymore, and it’s better this way but, i miss going every year. i miss going as a child, dressing up in a fancy velvet dress and mini heels, i miss walking into the theater so excited for the performance to start, i miss my innocence, my happiness, and i miss my mother. but she cannot be in my life, she’s toxic and terrible to me. this was so comforting to watch.
Oh man :( I’m so sorry for you- still, I hope you are leading a happy life and are able to form new good memories as it goes forward
@@amiigoesmuu thank you, lovely. i appreciate you taking the time to say that to me.
😢So sorry 💔
This is a lovely and sweet production. I don't understand the thumbs down ratings. The scenery, especially for the snow scenes, is some of the prettiest I have seen (and I have seen many productions and am a dancer). The costumes are pretty and creative without being overly fussy. The dancing is excellent. And, the orchestration is excellent. This is a sweet and enjoyable performance. Thank you for this enjoyable production.
It's my first time seeing it so I don't actually have any knowledge to back this but ITS PERFECT 🤩
as a ballerina I can truly say this is amazing how good they are
the nutcracker has always been a huge part of my life because I preformed in it when I was younger and it was my first big performance. recently, I have been getting into ballet and seeing this makes my jaw drop because those were what the older kids were doing when I was younger and I looked up to them. thank you for this
reminds me of my old ballet instructor version. several years doing this always bring tear to my eyes. mouse king forever!
I've always loved Christmas but when I watched the nut cracker ballet it just came a live for me .Christmas and the ballet nut cracker go together. AMEN 🙏
I love "The Nutcracker" I send you all a big hug from Mexico City. ❤️
I missed dancing. Nutcracker is one of the best performances I ever saw.
BRAVI!!!
Excellent performance. The Nutcracker ballet is a famous ballet of Tchikovisky. Excellent music, and dancing.
Utterly mesmerized. Only one of the most briilliant ballets in the world
OFC GIVE PROPER HOMAGE TO THE ORCHESTRA! MAGNIFICO!👏🏼💐👍🏼
in elementary school wed come to watch this every year before Christmas break, I’m in college now, but man does this bring back some nostalgia
Thanks!
Same my show was yesterday it took me almost two months to practice you really need hard work and motivation to do the show thank you for saying that because no one understands how hard it is, also ballet is hard
I love the costume design and pallet as well as the rich colors of the set! He’s my favorite Nutcracker. The cast of amazingly talented performers 💖
Watched this n my tablet w/o commercials. Thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Such grace and athleticism. Bravo!
I have been listening to this music my whole life and when my daughter was age 3 I began taken her 50 years ago. Though she is the hip hop generation she has an appreciation for the experience of classical music.
This would've been an outstanding performance! I've seen the Russian Ballet perform The Nutcracker live and it's mesmerizing.
I’m jealous
I wish also to see the Russian Balletts again. At last it was 2011 in munich germany. I dreamed day after day of this wonderful event.
Greatest ballett of the world in my opinion. Love It so much ❤ there was also Schwanensee at this time ❤
Gracias por Compartir. Feliz Navidad 2022. y Prospero Año Nuevo. 2023. Bendiciones !!!!!!!!!
Wonderful! Fantastic! Superb! Especially the ballarina playing Marie- a knockout performance. In my mind's eye I can see Tchaikovsky on the other side applauding with a big 😊 smile!
It’s a very beautiful 🤩 show with the Amazing Orquesta I love ❤️ the music I love watching the Ballet 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Currently obsessing over nutcracker a month ish before auditions. God, universe, whatever is out there, please let me get waltz of the flowers and snow ❤
A stunning ballet performance of the Nutcracker! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #thenutcracker #ballet #pointe #performance
I’ve been in the nutcracker multiple times and the amount of dedication is incredible.
@Elsie Doomhammer I am happily child free but I have a niece who loves dance, I take her to a performance every year for her birthday present so I hope she will accompany me to the Nutcracker 🥰 We never had the money to go to things like this when I was growing up, so I like to take her to live performances whenever I can 💞
It is simple beautiful,
I have seen this soo many times in different years and different performance and I just love it! Just like the first time.
Glad you like it!
i really loved the doll variation and the costumes it made me so happy to see it
Im gonna go see the nutcracker in sunday (december 19th 2021) in my city, im so excited!!
Marie's brother and the prince are not the same person... Thanks for uploading this performance.
It's nice to know that, somewhere outside the hatred and destruction, there are still parents all over the world who care enough to take their children to see The Nutcracker at Christmas.
My favourite ballet so well performed great job
They are the superior Alchemists of this masterpiece‘s ballet.
The greatness of this masterpiece‘s ballet is far superior, and off the charts, and unfathomable, and full of tribute and emotion.
Wow! An outstanding performance 👏
so happy this is watchable on youtube!
To be able to tell a story with dancing and music, Bravo Bravo Bravo
I'm just amazed. I hope more people appreciate how hard they had to work.
I have a friend who is playing as the nutcracker. I am always so blown away by these people’s talent.
Thanks for posting this my daughter loves ballet she just got her first pair ofshoes
I LOVE the nutcracker! I wonder how hard it is to keep up like that. And how would i stay still like that, that would be a LONG time!
they're all so beautiful and what fantastic dancers 👍✨🎄 stunning!
Oh the stamina! To run at this pace for such a long time!
i’m a dancer and dancing in a big time nutcracker showcase is my dream
Good luck! I would deffiently come to watch you!
I wish you the best of luck!!
good luck!!! 😊
never give up your dream! work hard for you dreams! and when you do get there I can't wait to see you dance!
I truly admire the talent of ballet dancers
Stunning!!! Magical!! Its like entering into a dream 💯❤❤❤
The rats are calling and yawling below and I am enchanted with the Nutcracker.
🌹Nota de mí para mí:

58:47 ~ Dance of the Reed-Flutes
1:02:46 ~ Waltz of the Flowers
1:16:12 ~ Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
Slayed! I love ballet so much im starting next year wish me luck
STUNNING. 💖 Thank you. 🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰🎵🎶🎵🎶🌷🌷🌹🌹💃🕺🙏🌠
I’m in the nutcracker this year, stunning performance! It’s way harder than it looks.
Nutcracker is always so enchanting.
A really good nutcracker means Christmas to me. Nostalgic.
I love the walze of the flowers, its my favorite song in the movie.
🎄♥ It's Christmas eve, and i watched this beautiful performance! This is my favourite ballet of them all because:
✅ They showed Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy as the same person, thereby keeping the magic.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!🎄♥
what's the timestamp when the sugar plum fairy shows up?
In the productions I have seen live, they have maracas in the Spanish dance scene. I missed them in this presentation.
Great perforance ballet nice amaizing cultur arts music beautiful wonder scharme peaceful thank you
Absolutely fantastic! The ballet, the sets, the music, so professional. Does complete justice to the original work! (who else could but russians) Must be one of the most beautiful holiday compositions ever. Hats off guys and thank you!
the ballet is so pretty and beautiful and the costumes are amazing
