Watching you react to a song unrelated to the world of metal-rock is comforting. Knowing that you are not like many other youtubers who lock themselves into a single musical genre, and that you can appreciate other musical tastes, makes me understand that you are an open-minded person.
This type of nordic folk pop (?) and just "pagan" music in general is quite popular among metalheads because the elements feel familiar. Many of the bands' members even started out playing black metal like Einar of Wardruna who played in Gorgoroth for a while. They're also often signed to labels usually associated with metal. Eivør is signed to Season of Mist for example. You'll often see these bands playing at huge metal festivals even
thanks for getting me into this band from your State of the World reaction. also new Mirrors track dropped, definitely one of my favorite songs this year!
This is beautiful, added straight to my playlist, gonna have to listen to more of this. Solid 9/10 Also, not sure if you take reccomendations through youtube, but if you do, Valiant Hearts - Odyssey is an incredible post-hardcore album that's been in my top 3 for years, and Burn the Rez - Isolation is an alt-rock album that I can easily say is my favorite album ever, half of the songs bring me to fuckin tears every time I listen to them
Hi man, you seem to be very perceptive reactor. Liked your reaction and commentary. This is one of their simpler melodies, less original for me (together with The State of the World). But these songs need not to be superoriginal and still have the unmistakable Kalandra something in them (and Katrine). The new album is a bit different, I agree, but I haven't listened to it so much yet, so it might really grow on me.
I can't believe, you have not reacted to any AURORA yet. I consider Kalandra to by one of my favourite bands, only topped by Aurora. Especially as you seem to like slow, moody songs, Aurora is the queen. She has four albums out, tens of unreleased songs, hundreds of live performances, tons of interviews, and not one of them is bad or mediocre. You wanna a christmas song by her? You can try this sweet two song performance, especially the second song - Stjernestov - is gorgeous. Don't forget to switch on the subtitles in order to understand the lyrics: (ua-cam.com/video/YNjl43wCUeI/v-deo.html) Edit: I checked your videos, and I see you are doing heavier music reactions. In this case you should definitely check out Aurora with Bring Me the Horizon live in Japan, that song and edit is fire! (ua-cam.com/video/zc9A2FLNt_Y/v-deo.html). Or a heavier Aurora song Under the Water (ua-cam.com/video/zVGQWw4Ap6o/v-deo.html). She is a fascinating performer.
This song has royally f*cked up my 2024 SOTY contention😭
Kalandra doesn't get enough love. "Wonderland" always makes me tear up
Their music really brings out your soul so much!!! I really love Kalandra!

This song gave me chills from my toes to my ears, and it encapsulates that melancholy i feel during this time of year
Great reaction! Surprised you're so iffy on their latest album, though. I think it's awesome.
