Absolutely love the Touring on my STi. Sounds perfect and no drone! My brother has the q300 on his STi and there's still a bit of drone and it can be annoying imo

@@PQR5CHE I pray to god they keep the UEL headers on the FA24 for the new STI. Really curios to see how that sounds, cause the fa20 with UEL headers sounds pretty good too.
@@heyaisdabomb hell yes. And I could see them doing that, to keep the STI standing out from the WRX. A little more lag (than WRX) will actually help it "feel" like an STI, and it will already be somewhat different in other ways, like in the EJ255 days.

@@nthgthnot only is there no ICE STi, but UEL headers reduce turbo lag, not increase it. That's literally their only benefit, besides the awesome unique sound.
This is good...pays homage to the old HKS exhaust videos. This is how every exhaust demonstration should be recorded, IMO!

What are your thoughts after a few months? From outside the car, how much louder than stock? I'd rather not be obnoxious to sleeping apartment neighbors, but I can't get over how this video makes the exhaust sound like an old muscle car! (In a good way)
@@nthgth The cold starts are loud and your neighbours will hear it and feel it. Even the quietest aftermarket exhaust, NVidia Q300, will rumble the area. I usually drive away at low RPMs and park on the side of the street to warm up the car. No drone or rasp with the kids in the car and only loud when you need it to be.

Can't comment on their sound, but can say this is a straight-through design throughout the entire route. It's all EJ25 rumble without the in-cabin drone.
how much does this catback weigh?
I got the Touring Edition installed last week. Any advice on how to tuck the tips in further. They are out about 1.75 inches from the plastic. Which part should I I loosen first? Even with the tips sitting as far back as they can, it's still a bit too much of a poke for me.
We would ask to make sure all of the slip fits were properly bottomed out during installation. That would be the mid-pipe to Y pipe merge.

The configuration heard in this video is 46.5lbs, with the larger diameter and thicker materials used. dB reading are inaccurate in the grand scheme as they are highly influenced by the surrounding of which their recorded. That said, we do not record them.
Is the same exhaust used for both VA and GV chassis' or are there slight differences to the design?
Yes, they are the same for EJ-equipped cars. The FA-equipped WRX's Touring Edition configuration is NOT the same as the STI's Touring Edition configuration, for the record.
Best one I’ve heard, is it compatible with the ‘13 Hatch STi? Does it need an adapter?
Negative, unfortunately.
Can you just tell me if you think this exhaust is California legal as far as the 95 decibel at 3/4 of max rpm rule goes?
With a stock DP, maybe. With an aftermarket DP, doubtful. I haven't tested dB levels on this configuration, myself.

Yes, this is stock STI with only the Touring Edition exhaust system.
Anyone have any idea how many decibels this exhaust reaches with everything else stock? I have the exhaust and love it but im just curious if it is below the decibel threshold in my province.
We don't have a controlled environment to test these, unfortunately. It's relatively quiet as the market goes.

I just bought your Touring exhaust, plus a Cobb intake, downpipe, and access port to stage 1. How much louder will my car be than that? I guess I'm about to find out in 5 days.
Will this exhaust work with the Cobb down pipe?
Our configurations will mate to any downpipes that respect the factory break point -- i.e. if the downpipe mates to the factory CBE, it will mate to our exhaust.
How comfortable is the touring exhaust on the ears at cruising speeds? Can you listen to the radio and not have to blast it?

Stock dp? Surprising little pop there at the beginning for being bone stock
Stock DP. IIRC it was pretty cold out when we shot these vids.
Just wondering if I’m running equal length headers on an STi and since the exhaust is tuned for the stock STi would it make a difference? Or should I consider the wrx touring? Any db readings for the STi touring? Sounds really loud. I attend some tracks with db limits. The car is fully built with upgraded turbo and catless downpipe.
We do not recommend installing the WRX's Touring configuration onto an STI as the WRX's configuration was engineered around the FA. No dB readings as they are highly influenced by surroundings. The Touring Edition is a full-bodied tone, with a straight-through design. 180 Technology® keeps the drone-prone frequencies at bay for an optimal in-cabin experience, though it does not lessen the raw Boxer rumble. It's essentially a no-compromise configuration.
We developed with and without DPs on both the STI and WRX respectively.
AWE Tuning so is the STi with a stock dp or a catless dp? It might be from the mic but it sounds really loud. I like how it sounds inside the cabin.
I currently have the milltek sports exhaust and I love it, but I also liked the way awe sounded on my friends s4 and s5 (v8) just don’t want to get something that’s louder than what I have now.
Stock downpipe. No mic issues. It's raw, EJ rumble without drone. Cannot comment on your current configuration, unfortunately.

I’ve heard a common issue with this exhaust is that it can have an exhaust leak, how common is this issue? Has anyone here experienced it?
No leaks with proper installation. Lifetime Guarantee as well.

It should, Remton. The exhaust should mate to any downpipe that is designed to mate to the factory catback exhaust.

Another question: How is this able to produce HP gains while a Cobb is not?

The Cobb does provide a HP gain, they simply do not advertise it. Most manufacturers choose not to for whatever reason. Dsport magazine actually dyno tested a number of exhausts on a 2017 STI. Is this AWE touring exhaust louder than the invidia R400?
Likely, in a good way. Our patented 180 Technology resonators do not feature typical packing material to deaden sound, rather they're packless and straight-through, just like a straight pipe. All rumble of a straight-pipe but without the drone ;)
No its not I have had both . I ride with the r400 now and there about the same in dbs
Does this exhaust enhance the sound of the turbo at all?
A bit, yes. Those sweet sounds are usually uncorked a bit more when paired with a DP.

We need to verify there were no changes to the exhaust on the 2021 to official list that fitment. Working on it as we speak.

Touring Edition features our patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology® in the rear sections, whereas the Track Edition does not -- instead it has straight pipe sections. Those looking for straight-pipe performance without the drone should go with the Touring Edition.

Nope. Can be equipped on a stock car.
Louder than the borla s?
Without experiencing the aforementioned and considering our proprietary patented 180 Technology resonators do not use traditional packing material with its straight-through design, it's likely the tone will be more pronounced and full-bodied. Drone, on the other hand, will not occur with the Touring Edition.

Ivan's World: the Touring Edition for the STI is not the same as the Touring Edition for the WRX. We gave the FA and EJ each their own designated designs.

@@SonikJesus I installed it and have not gotten pulled over. I don’t think you’ll have an issue it’s not extremely loud.
jazzblaster no it’s not, 1 the mufflers are actually resonators they don’t have any sound deadening material in them. At 3 k rpm on otherwise stock sti I got 110 db testing by ca standards with a certified calibrated db meter. At 4200 rpm where the ref will tests I got results that averaged between 113 and 116 db depending on if there was any pops when the throttle was let off.

You're referring to the STI's Touring Edition and not the WRX's, correct? It's certainly all business on the outside and no drone on the inside -- just rumble.
