    This is one of the most complete "rivet" videos i have ever seen. You did a great job putting this video together.

    Thank you for the thorough explanation of choosing the right size rivet, installation, and the bonus of how to shorten one, if need be. More fiberglass info anytime! (-8

    This was excellent information given in a very detailed, understandable way. I wish Scamp would be more with it and put out detailed videos like this for their clients.
    Thankyou so much, Brook. EXCELLENT!!!!

    Great job Brook. I've been afraid to drill those things out. Those little caps are popping off all the time. I've been just using silicone and sticking new ones on. That works ok, but now if I have to drill one out and replace it, I can do it. Thank you...

    This was fantastic! I was working on my Scamp over the weekend and a few rivets popped out, too much jarring around I guess. I have never messed with rivets and had no idea what to do. Found this video and I feel like I can go around fixing them all now. Thank you! Also fellow Arizonean :D

    I use a 1/8" drill bit on the small rivets and 3/16" on the larger rivets. I would drill out the hole larger than it was originally.

      I meant to say I *wouldn't* drill out the holes any larger.

    Rivets come in standard sizes..best way to size the drill bit is see what size rivet your using .

    Use a dab of Marine 5200 behind the cap.

    I would have installed a washer to back up that rivet. It will back out of the fiberglass in due time because of vibration while in transit.

    Once you drill out the rivet, how do you get the part out that is still in the camper? I need to replace rivets on the outside of my scamp.

    This video is very good however the diameter of the hole has nothing to do with the length of the rivet needed. You keep using the word "diameter" while trying to determine the length of the rivet needed. They are two totally different things.

      @BrookRieman  Рік тому

      The rivet length needed does depend on rivet diameter. Here is a quote from the Arrow Fastener’s website “The length of the rivet should be equal to the thickness of both objects you are fastening, plus 1.5 times the diameter of the rivet's stem.”
