This week we are making the color changing princess dress worn by Aurora in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Sewing this I used sequins that are blue one way and pink the other to make it possible to change the color of the dress!

So beautiful!
Thankyou ❤️
Oh, Annabelle, you are truly a princess in that gorgeous gown.
Thanks I definitely feel like one!
Absolutely brilliant. The colours are wonderful, I love the blue and pink contrast. The peplum came out really nice and as for the petticoat, that was dedication. You really outdid yourself this time.❤
Thankyou so much! I realy am proud of it :)
It turned out really beautiful
Thankyou! ❤️
That is absolutely magical ❤
Thankyou! I think so to ❤️
It's so great! I'm loving all the shorts of this make!
I'm so glad! 😁
You did a beautiful job with that dress. It looks lovely and drapes beautifully
Thankyou! Just wait untill you see the adjustments I made. Its even better now!
It's completely brilliant!
Thankyou :D
Very pretty dress! Video suggestion: could you make the spinning wheel scene from the movie?
Once we get our own house a spinning wheel is top of my list to buy! I love keeping animals and love the idea of spinning the raw wool into something usable so definitely! but that's probably going to take a while....
The result is just absolutely stunning. And the way the dress drapes and moves as you walk, wow.
Just wait untill you see all the improvements I made!
An amazing dress!
Thankyou!
You look fabulous! What an incredible accomplishment!! Way to get it done soo quick, it truly looks perfect.
Thank you so much!! It's actually had a big update since then but I'm still finishing off some little acsessorys before I release the video for it :)
Aurora turned out so well! I’m glad that Ben was able to help out, too, as well as help you reach things when you’re in the gown! I should get on the discord! I’ve been hanging around UA-cam, watching videos and commenting since the pocket swap.
Ah you definitely should, we. Have quite a bit of fun over there :)
I joined right after I typed this!
i loved getting to see and help out with the process on discord! It turned out so awesome!!!
Thankyou so much! I definitely need to ask more on there as I enjoyed having you all help me so much! (Though maybe next time can be a little bit less rushed lol)
Those marble-top bottles are fun, though it's unfortunate they can't be re-sealed. You must commit to finishing your drink when you open one! (Maybe with some kind of vacuum apparatus, with a narrow enough hose to grab onto the marble without pulling out the drink? Not feasible for casual use, but I could see an engineer/machinist building something like that just to see if it could be done.) Apparently there's some very old glass marble-top bottles that are now Expensive Collectibles because kids often smashed them open to retrieve the marbles for games.
Colour-flipping sequins are a brilliant choice for an Aurora dress! They make the costume interactive ;)
I wasn't sure I liked the peplum at first, but once the collar was on as well I liked it more. The lace and backing colour are both lovely, it was just kind of a jarring texture shift from the rest of the dress before the collar was on to bring that texture in elsewhere.
The petticoat is lovely and fluffy! I hope it works with some of your other outfits, it would be a shame not to wear it again.
Almost 13 years ago now, a blogger called 'Beaded Fae' did a "paint splatter" Aurora dress, based on the end of Flora and Merriweather's initial colour battle in the cottage. It would be fun to see your take on that, if you're interested. beadedfae.blogspot.com/2012/02/pink-and-blue-sleeping-beauty-gown.html
Oh the paint splatter dress is definitely on my list! However there's a specific fabric I want to use for it that is a little expensive so it's going to take some saving up!
To be honest I also have two/three other Arora dresses on my to make list as well so we shall see how we go with getting them all done :)
Haya. Amaziiiiiing 🤩'Seeeeeew' much work 😀Thanku 'sew' much for sharing & taking us along with you 🪡✂🧵🙂
Thanks :) it needs a little adjustment but very pleased with how it came out!
Try solid pink/blue base with a see through pink/blue on skirt and add the see through as the collar and hem of sleeves
I am actually just doing the last upgrades to this dress for a competition now but the next one I make I had pretty much the same idea :)
I love to do dlunkin slewing !!! ooops ....where is my seam ripper.
OK jus one sec..
There it is YAY !!!!
Hahaha! Good luck with that :)
