'Society of the Snow' is the most anticipated film by the people who know the event called 'the miracle of the Andes' from the books, the documentaries and the interviews with most of the survivors (two of them have spoken publicly on very rare occasions). These real-life heroes have been talking about it with great enthusiasm for the last couple of years.
This isn't the first film about what happened. A Film called " Alive" presented the whole situation beautifully in 1993. Directed by Frank Marshall and featuring Ethan Hawke.

So happy their story gets to be told again!! I lived in Uruguay for 4 years and got to meet Roberto Canesa at a South African function , he was invited because he travels there as he is a doctor. The survivors also came to my school to give a talk, we know who they were since this story is so known in Uruguay but they didn't talk about the crush or anything, it was more about how we are all so lucky and we don't reallize, and that we have to value what we have, since we tend to see the empty glass
Congratulations guys and congratulations Enzo, here in Paris, the film is not on theaters but you did I wonderful job. After watching all the others productions of 2023 you are for far the best movie. And I love it was made in Spanish. Una auténtica joya del CineArte.
We need this movie to win the oscars, the direction, the preparation of the actors and the scenery, the performance of everyone involved in the film is perfect. A film is supposed to immerse you in the scene, it is supposed to make you believe that you can touch the people, and live in the place and time performed, some films only touch us in the manner of crying or laughter. This film, on the other hand, absolutely impacts your every sense, it makes you cry, it makes you desperate for them, it makes you question your relationships with people. It makes you FEEL COLD. Because you believe the cold they feel, it looks REAL, it looks AUTHENTIC. They truly looked like they had been through hell. Their feelings could be interpreted in their facial expressions, i did not even need a dialogue, just the faces of the actors did it for me. Just the FACE OF ENZO made the movie for me. It is MAJESTIC. A true valley of tears.
Incredible master piece of a film.. I knew the director did the impossible so I knew it was going to show the raw emotion a human might endure when faced with death and losing faith.. Totally deserves the oscar.
This movie deserves the Oscar for many reasons like the outstanding acting, directing and production. However, it deserves to be recognized even more because of the heart and soul put into the film. It is a story that the world needs to see these days when sometimes it feels like everything and everyone is so divided. It is so refreshing to see a story that highlights human values that seem to be fading away such as brotherhood, collaboration, resilience, kindness and faith. As a Latina, I am so proud that this film was created by Latinos and it is representing us at the Oscars. Thank you Society of the Snow. Gracias! ❤❤🥹
They do really deserve this award, there's so much passion in this story, the production, the actors, everything summarize as a master piece worthy of an Oscar and any other award.
Everything about this film is so well put together, the music, the actors performances, the photography, it's all set to move you deeply and it does, certainly deserves all the awards 💙
Excellent in so many ways: script, photography, music, point of the view of narrative... Finally the narrator is a REAL Hero and not a surviving superman!! And TOP 100 for the Acting of these novel actors who were able to transmit anguishes, fears, love, disappointement, courage, faith... A whole scope of human emotions...A well rounded film with more than a message, a lesson in Humanity. And the personal pleasure to me, of watching in Original Version Spanish accent from Uruguay, where the team was from. Details as these make this film Real and not a Hollywood version of the story. Thanks to have given us so much to reflect about. Bravo!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I just saw the movie. This movie deserves an Oscar. It's been a long time since a movie moved and impressed me like this one. It's difficult for a movie to make me cry and this one did it. Among so much tragedy there is a message that has marked me. Congratulations to the director, the actors and the entire technical team.
I was born in 1993 when Alive came out, and I remember watching it when I was around 6 on VCR. The overarching story was so impactful that it stuck with me as a vivid memory through all these years. Idk why, but last weekend I was thinking about Alive, and decided to re-watch it here on UA-cam. I then saw the Society of the Snow trailer on the side. What an incredible film, and a true masterpiece. It followed the actual accounts as truthfully as possible (if you listen to the interviews), filmed in the same time of the year, same spot, same conditions. I didn't find it dramatized in Hollywood fashion like Alive, but closer to a documentary. I'm so glad it was in Spanish, which added to the authenticity. Incredible, and one of my top #3 movies of all time.
Numa died in Los Andes. This is Enzo. Please, let's just be respectful, the actor is beautiful, I agree, but don't call him by the name of another person, exactly the person that this movie tries to remember with respect. And Enzo will get the recognition, but not bc he's handsome, it's bc he did a wonderful job.
They're all over UA-cam they've been interviewed everywhere you can see reruns of all the shows they're all on they've been around for 50 years so there is a lot of information about all the survivors easy to get
I cried and was left speechless at the end of the film. I can't believe this is based on a true story. The actors and producers did an amazing job producing everything shown in this movie. I just saw the real footage/pictures of the survivors at the crash scene and wow, the recreated live photos displayed on the film are closely identical. Those visual effects, costumes, makeup and details they were able to provide are very impressive.
I loved the movie Alive, and I loved this one moreso. You couldn't escape the bleakness of the circumstances, and I loved the fact it was told from the perspective of someone that lost their life. The performance was amazing. I feel like Alive allowed you to remove yourself, but the acting in Society of the Snow submersed you in the situation. Phenomenal all around.
Beautiful film. Thank you for all the work that you all put into it. You shared the joy, the hardship and the love with us in a magical way. More love, light and power to you all. BRAVO! 💞
I think it's very disrespectful to cut the actor's answers. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the interpreter's job but it would've been nice to listen to him also. The movie is in spanish, the director and actors speak in spanish, and a great amount of people who enjoyed the movie speak in spanish.

the most incredible and emotional film never ive seen , Espectacular. Magnifica.
This movie is beautiful, I saw it 5 times and it continues to captivate me, and it also leaves me with a great life lesson.
When I usually get sleepy I’ll pause a movie here and there , this movie woke me Up
They need an Oscar!!!! They had no business starting 2024 with a banger.
They are the winners for best international! Surely they should consider the impact on people lives. Speechless ❤
Magnificent film. Now I would love to see a film about the survivors' lives TODAY and how it was for each of them to experience this film.
They're all over UA-cam they've been interviewed everywhere you can see reruns of all the shows they're all on they've been around for 50 years so there is a lot of information about all the survivors easy to get
I had no idea he worked on The Impossible as well. Both movies are amazing!
Ya estoy ansiosa por verla. J.A.
For me, this film deserves an Oscar for best film.
They deserve the oscar!!🥲🥲
One of the best movies I’ve seen in the past 3 years
Wonderful interview.
Amazing movie. i would watch it 10 times....
I really wanted to heard Enzo
Beautiful film. Thank you for all the work that you all put into it. You shared the joy, the hardship and the love with us in a magical way. More love, light and power to you all. BRAVO! 💞
I think it's very disrespectful to cut the actor's answers. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the interpreter's job but it would've been nice to listen to him also. The movie is in spanish, the director and actors speak in spanish, and a great amount of people who enjoyed the movie speak in spanish.
Please Academy! This movie needs to win an Oscar! Or at least be nominated 🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌
So looking forward!
¡Hola!
