Something to note, there is a “hidden” menu you can access by holding the tune button while you power it up. You can disable that beep and also adjust some stuff with the RF sensing/Wattage reading.
Just got mine in today. I was surprised to find that it was smaller than I expected. Tried it out and was surprised that it tuned 80m on the 40m element on my fan dipole. But when I use it on my 10m element. You can hear my voice in the relays and it constantly tunes during transmit. Over all I love it! Cheap and compact for those who want to save space. Thanks for you for passing this along to us.
Turn the unit off, it will hold or "latch" the last "tune" then transmit at will. Once tuned to the frequency in use it does not need to be powered on until you need a retune. Its my tuner of choice for my ft891 in a backpack for its compactness, forever battery life (no need to keep it powered up), and the latching reason. I away appreciate your candor and great content Steve!
I had to replace the battery in mine after a year. Instead of trying to fit one inside, I opted to put one on top running the wires around the back edge and inside. I taped it flat and am otherwise pleased with it. There's really no room to play with trying to get another battery inside so I went with one with better specs which should give longer run time.
After watching this video I ordered one to go with my FT-891. I have received it and am using it and am delighted. Thanks for video and bringing the tuner to my attention. Cheers ZL2VTH

I got mine yesterday. In the menu, theres an SWR threshold. I think it is set for like 1.7. If you increase it to like 2, then it shouldn't fail when it's under 2.
I have an AT-100M and it does a great job if I'm using an AM signal. When playing with FT8 it constantly fails. Do digital modes give these devices problems? There is a menu (hold button down while powering on) that allows manual control, so is the solution to manually tune with a AM signal near the FT8 band and then run FT8?
FT8 puts out a good deal of your radios power to the antenna system, I'd say more that AM, so it might be harder to tune. The end game would be to run manually and then make antenna improvements to get a closer match. But as long as you are having fun, that's a win!

I haven't had one in my hands yet, but TheSmokinApe and KK6USSY Ham Radio Adventures both did a review on it. My take so far is that they are both good, but if you don't have one, get the Pro. If you have the old model, I don't see much reason to upgrade.
Which micro-controller? Is the display always on, or does it blank when you've been transmitting for a while. How long the battery lasts when not in use would be an interesting stat. Thanks for the peek.

Your and Ape’s videos definitely affirmed my decision not to buy any ham kits or finished product on eBay or Amazon. The design may be good, but the low quality parts/materials and the even lower worker skill & QA proves it is a waste of time and money.

There is probably a "test" mode too?
Thank you for this. I hated having to listen to the beeps all the time. And yes it does have a test mode

Looks to be assembled better than others. Cheap as chips! 🍟
MUCH better!

how long time to arrive?
Mine arrived in just on 2 weeks
Can it handle 100 PEP 1.8 to 30Mhz? 4S7EF
@@tilghmansmith5705 what frequency is this at.
From the manual....
Power:1-18Mh/SSB/CW/0.1-100W
18-30MHz/SSB/CW/0.1-50W
1-30Mhz/FM/AM/FT8/0.1-50W
looks like an ATU-100 with an upgraded microcontroller on a separate board. Nice. Might buy one later...
It looked pretty well built!

Hello!
The older tuner antennas have the bay pass function, does the Atu-100M Pro also have bay pass?
Thank you if you clear this doubt!!!
I don't see the original having a bypass, but my friend KK6USY says that the AT-100-Plus model does.
If my X6100 didn't already have one, I'd definitely buy one. Nice size and price.
Its a pretty neat bit of kit!

What is the difference between the 100M and the 100M Pro? The pro appears to weigh more and have a plug for CW. But is the Pro worth the extra cost.

No -problem! I had to give it back, so I can't answer your questions though
Coming from the tuner of the G90 that Tunner it’s pretty crappy!!!! It’s driving me crazy the “Fail”. Thanks for saving me $100 bucks my friend
You bet
Danger: Looks like the battery will burn or explode if it ever expands! It appears to be squashed up against a sharp PCB with no extra space?
The joys of Lithium Ion batteries
Got one. Love it.
I might have to get one myself
Try tuning with out of casing!
How come?
wonder is it fast enough for Automatic Link Establishment?
Good question, I didn't time the memory tune and it isn't getting the frequency from the rig, so my first guess would be "probably not"

Are you tuning at full output power?
Yes
@@temporarilyoffline its possible to tune with high power? or have to be lower down every time to tune?
Its always recommended that you tune with lower power levels, but for some radios thats really a hassle and I'm too lazy to do it. @@CA3DQY
Did you try it with a full charge? You were tuning below the recommended minimum voltage of 3.6v.
Yeah, worked great either way.

What will be the output voltage and current if used to amplify about 1-2W of 13.56MHz RF?
This isn't an amp, so power in = power out minus a little insertion loss

@NomadFella this device is an antenna tuner, not an amplifier.

Here to help. The Antuner is pretty good, the atu-100 clones are pretty bad.
I don't think they are latching relays?
They are.
seems like a better tuner than the one Ape has been messing with.
Much better - its not "N7DDC" or his design that is the problem, its the "borrowed" implementation.
did you test if the relays latch?
No, I didn't
Huh. They have an AT-DP Antenna Adapter with no documentation… interesting.
I saw that - I think its a quick way to string up a dipole or something??
Can it handle 100w (SSB)?
Yes
Are you really trying to tune using 70 watts?
Sure was.
