ATU -100 EXT with the Bearcat 980 SSB CB Tuning a Mag Mount Antenna on a Cookie Sheet

This is an update of a previous video I made about the ATU-100 antenna tuner using my Bearcat 980 SSB. The first half of the video is the same that explains the tuner. I decided to try the tuner on a mag mount car antenna mounted on a cookie sheet to demonstrate the ATU-100's abilities of lowering SWR. I Thought it would be interesting to test this Antenna tuner on an antenna with very high SWR.

Way to go Ridge! Yes, it will be interesting to see what kind of SWR the tuner can get the Tram down to.

Those are cool. The antenna tuner out of the G-90 in a box. It can do loops, longwires, and the efhw things with the 4:1, 9:1, 49:1 64:1 baluns. Those are basically longwires, but the feedpoint is way out of the shack and shielded up to it for better tx, and less noise.

I tested my President McKinley using this tuner. The SWR on channel 20 was great at 1.15, but the efficiency was only 30%. I would think that an antenna with that low a SWR would be far more efficient than that! Is that really a thing, or is my new tuner not functioning properly. As you noted, the instructions are sparse!

Specs say it will work from 1.8MHz to 50MHz.

According to the specifications, the maximum working power is 100 watts. The maximum measure power is 150 watts.

I have one these tuners ATU-100 i paid 17$ for it on xmas sale on aliexpress i'm making box for it it came from my old comcast x-1 cable box back in 2017-2021 i made labels for it i did upgrade buttons for it i still putting together it's my second yt channel on foxman362 worldradio. i'm going run this tuner on my sirio sy27 for 27mhzs and run 26mhzs stock mode so i don't have trim 4 element beam antenna.
