I don't see any need to fight people, c'mon, lets just get along. I've never heard this version before, and I love it. Personally, I still prefer the original, but this one's really good as well.
Its just personal opinion brother, just because someone likes one version over the other does not make them an idiot. However, I do agree with you that saying that one version sucks is just being ignorant.
@DeadGummiBear ok maybe its alittle rough but since the music SY make comes from techniques they developed themselve i guess i think they disserve more credit than a band that just play songs and u HAVE to accept that YYY kinda sounds like SY but without those techniques im referring to im a guitar player myself for 15 yrs + and i cant even figure out how to play most of their songs

i bet they couldnt mimic more of the effects layers upon the basic song structure and thats why they made it that way... no band can cover SY's effects plus they didnt do the minimalist part.. trying that would have just been impossible. oh and the YYY are the mass media's pre-digested generic version of SY. Hear them just in case u have minimalistic/atonal noise intolerance

This is, I imagine, more how the song would have sounded originally had Kim done the vocals instead of Thurston. And I'm sorry, Mr. Moore, but there are a lot of songs on which your voice is a bit annoying.
I wasn't born at that time but I know I love both the original and this version, which I think is pretty sweet and emotional. (Not to mention this cover is the reason I got into Sonic Youth in the first place)
