Feel the energy in the room. The only discernible life is in the interviewer's hair upon which Thurston must have rubbed his guitar strings before the start.
It's so hard to imagine that Kim is 30 here... She looks like she's in her early 20s! It really goes to show that age is just a number. Especially if you're Kim Gordon.

@Pason Jayne This interview took place in 1983, so not sure what this has to do with grunge, but regardless, I've never seen members of SY smoking cigarettes besides here. Lol!
They were an underground noise band in the early 1980s, and smokers were the norm among the hardcore adjacent back then. If you didn't smoke scenesters would joke that you were some kind of health nut.

In the 60-80ies smoking, boozing, casual drugs and sex were still allowed and normal. Then we got obsessed with security and some discovered there was a heck of a business in it. Ever since you'll get diseases from sex, car crashes from drinking and cancer from smoking. And they chopped almost every tree to avoid you'd hang yourself out of boredom ;-)
I'm pretty sure he assumed the video would take too long based on the amount of questions they had vs how slow they were answering them and that's why he chose to end the interview. 😂

POOFY VERTICAL EARLY '80s HAIR
It's so sad that the band put in so many years learning to smoke that by the time they'd finally mastered it, it was no longer fashionable.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣 The important thing is, shareholders in Philip Morris had good returns on their investments. 😑
After all the years they still look about the same.

She was actually 29, this (1-08-1983) was a couple of months before her 30th birthday (4-28-1983)
I think she looks exactly her age and I mean that in a good way.
Lee is such a hot young italian dream boat! Xoxo
we are gonna mention a few things in the intro that we either won't get in depth with or won't get to at all lol.
'Wrap this up', after 2;43, minute, hilarious, a mini-interview :-)
To be fair, besides the problems outlined above, back then few would have guessed what they would become.
