i love how snl just let andy jorma and akiva do their thing basically from day 1 and it payed off so well. if they did this with beck and kyle they would’ve been known as some of the best cast members ever
I bought the Ronco Di#k In a Box kit and it came with some spray on hair sampler. Used it to add the 90s line beard. Twas a wonderful Christmas morning. Thanks Ron Popiel!
I miss them on the show :T I started watching for Andy, and pretty much stopped for him too :x He was the bomb! Still is, we just can't see him as much anymore.. Oh well
Kiv and Jorm aren't writers on it, they both directed one episode each (Jorm the Thanksgiving ep from season 1 and Akiva season one's finale) and Jorma is guest starring on 4x01 Coral Palms Part 1
Symbiotic relationship, but using your original comment I'd assert this...SNL has always gone through peaks and troughs in terms of quality and viewer numbers, and when the Lonely Island guys came through they were in a kind of mid way period and probably needed something like the digital shorts in order to boost the shows popularity again in an age where loads of people were increasingly going online for their entertainment. The digital shorts gave SNL the piece of that online content pie they were after, which in turn established the troupe (their fame has only increased as time has gone on, but SNL was their big break). SNL gave them the platform they needed to succeed, but you can also argue that the show might have started to die a slow death if it hand't have been for the success of skits like Lazy Sunday, which was a first for the show, in that it went viral (blew up online) and turned people back onto the show in a big way.
@satualm they also wrote awesometown which was a show that only got to air a pilot before being cancelled. but that episode is that drew saturday night live to them. worked out pretty well
Digital Shorts are THE ONLY part of SNL worth watching the rest is pure garbage whoever watching it for last couple of years will probably agree(i guess) Oh and thanx for uploading this vid never knew where DS started from

U wrote this just to name drop like u know these ppl. 🤣😂 dick head. NOLA in the building ⚜
Actually, the did write some skits which were not picked up by SNL. It was their idea to make it SNL digital shorts.
so true
Lazy Sunday gets funnier every time
"oh yeah throw it in it's supposed to suck"
i actually like this doco. i wish they had more of these kind of stuff, going behind the scenes of every aspect of the show.
why does this feel like a popstar parody, with all the people being interviewed being so darn serious
"Do you get that it's King Leer?"
my favorite line ever from any digital short.
This just makes me so happy
This is such a great video. All the cast members are legends
The 2000s was such an amazing time period.
Thank you for bringing us this gold
The style boys
let me see that donkey roll
The Lonely Island was the greatest thing to ever grace the internet and SNL
I do love the lonely Island sketches but man laser cats is amazing
How is that a "but"?
Natalie Portman Rapping part 1 and 2 is my most favorite thing in the world.
I miss the digital shorts soooooooo much :'(
SNL is so incredibly boring without them now...
***** agreed.
I know right?
They still do digital shorts all the time, they're just not called that way anymore.
@@Etianen7 Yeah...no. Not really. They're more like pre-taped sketches.

Thanks Ron Popiel!
RIP Ron. My can still sprays
me too, i started watching snl more due to lonely island, very funny and creative i must admit
Ok, why did they play Arcade Fire in the middle of this?
What else could they have possibly played? Think about it..
Transitional reasons
Or new cast member?
What was the name of the song?
Haha I was wondering the same thing
Watching a UA-cam video about people on tv show that got their big break from a UA-cam video made for a tv show. Whoa..
I miss them on the show :T I started watching for Andy, and pretty much stopped for him too :x He was the bomb! Still is, we just can't see him as much anymore.. Oh well
Watch Brooklyn Nine Nine. Andy is the main character and Akiva and Jorma are writers on it. That show is hilarious trust me
Kiv and Jorm aren't writers on it, they both directed one episode each (Jorm the Thanksgiving ep from season 1 and Akiva season one's finale) and Jorma is guest starring on 4x01 Coral Palms Part 1
Steve Martin’s exit is the greatest thing ever done by anyone ever.
Hearing Chris Parnell saying Flabbergasted shouldn’t not be funny to me yet it is 😂
does anyone know where to watch these whole documentaries?
thanks for the clip by the way?
Shoutout to the late Katreese Barnes who was behind A LOT of these musical skits. 👸🏾
this is brilliant
Wait, Lazy Sunday wasnt shot on a Sunday? Aww man, I didn't want to know how the sausage was made, adulthood ruined.
Does anyone have a link to the full doc???
Is there a way to watch all of this? I know this is just a clip from a larger video.
If SNL is made for youtube, why can't I watch it on youtube??????
Can anybody tell me what is about Arcade Fire in the middle of this? What they had to do with the lonely island??
Does anyone know where this clip is originally from? Just wondering.
the lonely island MADE SNL
Nah, SNL MADE the lonely island
@@BernieMadoff-zt5tx I would say, it was a relationship that helped benefit both the lonely island and SNL.
Wazzyuppers true

I love the guys, but you cant say they made SNL
They were barely born when Bill Murray was on air
@satualm they also wrote awesometown which was a show that only got to air a pilot before being cancelled. but that episode is that drew saturday night live to them. worked out pretty well
I understand this was eleven years ago but everyone in this video looks eleven years old
@KarmiSelua the whole show had bands that had played on saturday night live throughout the whole thing and arcade fire was just in this section
6:14 jorma has a wife... *crying*

Viva the SNL digital shorts!
Anyone else remember Steve Higgins as the host of Homonym (from 30 Rock)? I knew he was somebody!
Jorma is the baby :))

@tragic1Kingdom *King Lear
He's the oldest.
Why is lazy sunday not on youtube anymore?
Luke Shaffer it is. SNl uploaded it on their UA-cam Channel.
