The job of the coach is to get the best out of the players at his disposal. I don’t think he ever had a list at North that was ever likely to seriously challenge for a premiership. So to get them to a couple of preliminary finals would suggest he squeezed the best out of that list. He never was able to get big name recruits at a club that was under resourced. As a Dons supporter I welcome him to the club and wish him all the best. He’s got a big job to change the culture of a group of players who have no idea what success looks like, and have no concept of the hard work required on and off the field. That’s his biggest challenge.
