  • Hey guys, Welcome to V-Log #6. Sorry it's been longer between posts than usual but I have taken a little time away from social media other than most messages as my head wasn't in the best place. However, That for now has passed and the focus is back. Tonight I wanted to thank everyone for their help, donations and effort as without you there is no Journey or message, It truly humbles me to have you all on board.
Massive thanks to everyone for the sharing, liking, commenting, retweeting & messages. Without this the Journey goes no where and the voice disappears like dust in the wind, It's means everything to me that this doesn't happen and if I am going early then I want it to be for a positive reason. Something my family can look back on, feel proud and smile about.
Since the last video we've been on BBC Radio Scotland which was good fun and more importantly we felt like I got the point across. I mean there's always things you wish you had said or mentioned but I'm learning as I go. The link to listen to it is on the page and also at the footer of this video. I've also had the first hormone shot which is the treatment plan I've been put on via the NHS. The needle wasn't too bad although it was a thick fella and I reckon would've made an elephant squeak! Straight in the ass cheek. But it's all done and settled fine. No major side effects, Well nothing worth moaning to you about at least.
I wanted to mention an old school friend, Debbie McPhillips who ironically I bumped in to in the hospital the same day they emergency admitted me for the heart. Since then we have stayed in touch and once I got my cancer diagnosis she was a brilliant source of support from the off. She has now kindly decided to raise funds for Johnnie's Journey via her successful online business by way of a Christmas event which she is running from now to mid December. She has her team on board too. They are doing giveaways and a load of other things all to help the cause, raise awareness and generally just be wee diamonds. I will post more information on how everyone can get involved asap. It's based around make up, As you can imagine my make up knowledge is rather small outwith when I become my alter ego, Linda, at weekends x. Can't thank them all enough.
That brings me to the Just Giving Page. I will be taking it down soon. It's close to the target that I have in my head. It will be coupled with a fundraiser that my family are running early next year. This fund will be banked and put away for Evelyn & the kids. They hate me being morbid but it's a fact and is happening sooner than wanted. So if I can secure and pay for eg my own funeral via what's already there and family fund raising then that's what I'll do. Again a massive thank you to this who have donated so far.
Twitter! I need help. I'm looking for maybe 2 or 3 folk to run my twitter page. This would involve frequently messaging media outlets, celebs, sports personalities, authors ect with the hope of getting their backing. We are looking for them to point their own followers to not only our Twitter account but main hub here on Facebook. Inbox the page or me direct if you think this is something you can help with. I'm getting snowed under so delegating some help is a must.
NET cancer or Neuroendocrine is basically a term that covers an umbrella of different small slow growing cancers that usually develop from cells in the endocrine system. They are more common in the lung or gastrointestinal system but can grow & spread elsewhere too. The problem I've found and keep seeing is a lack of symptom awareness, The diagnosis knowledge stage taking far too long, The way this is usually found is by either pot luck and it shows on a scan for something else like me or you get to see a NET specialist which is rare too. So when they do finally find it, the cancer has already grown and in a lot of cases spread to an advanced stage. This shows a lack of awareness at all levels. This cancer is rarely given any spotlight or media time, It's known as a silent killer and this HAS to change. With your help I want to let people know that this cancer is out there, It's continually overlooked and it KILLS.
I'll leave you for now, I can announce that the garden project is done and will show you guys how it all went down in the next video, It's an awesome story, Can't wait to share it, Nothing but love for you guys. See you all soon
