Informative video presentation. From an Australian's perspective, most grocery items are cheap except for the dairy goods like cheese, butter and milk. The appliances are really cheap. Those fridges and washing machines are great value compared to Australia. Perhaps they're made in Thailand. What blows me away is the weed shop in the middle of a food court. Not in a thousand years would I have ever expected to see such a thing in Thailand.
Hi Wayne. Big C is always my favorite food store. But the French cheeses or Parmaham does not come cheap. Its that craving sometimes and you spend a few thousand bht. Thailand prices raise like anywhere. Its the housing where you save money. But 70k bath a month is ok in the North. Samui or Phuket you have to be carefull. Anyway on topic. Big C is great for that food you miss at home but otherwise just go out for your meals. Thanx mate. Your vid gives reality of the actual prices at a big store in CM. Why live in Asia if you cannot go without "Western food"? Take note how Asians by and large are slim and healthy. Pop over to the west where diets consist of junk "food" and obesity is rampant.
@@stevenhull5025 That's my way. Infact I'm trying to think of any western foods I've eaten in Thailand. I can't think of any that I've paid for out of my own pocket. Always happy with Thai foods, the spice of life 😋

Those baked beans and spaghetti are a Watties brand which is a New Zealand company yet they are cheaper in Thailand than we can buy them here in New Zealand. Crazy, can't wait to move over there.
Honestly a bit disappointed by how high some of those prices are. I suppose it's best to keep to the markets as much as you can and only hit the C when you must or have a craving for a taste of home. Thanks for the upload 👍
Everything the thai people don't buy or buy little of and foreigners buy a lot of, is always expensive in Thailand. If you want to live like you do in the west and eat as you do in the west with the same brand name as in the west, it will be more expensive in Thailand than back home in the west.
Seems the best savings from the crappy Western life is in rent and eating Thai food. You can eat some Western grub and still be miles ahead. Those prices did not seem low at all until you got to the appliances, which looked a lot lower. Last thing I would ever want is to collect more junk I would have to haul with me, or have to leave behind.
Quite a bit more expensive than I was expecting & hoping for, more expensive than I pay at Aldi back here, I usually pay around £65 per month for my shopping & was hoping it would at least be as cheap, if not cheeper in Thailand.
