Just to set the record straight, Smags: I will marry you in the next 2-3 years. And you know what? After maybe 4 or 5 years married, one night we'll have a fight, and it'll be ugly and it'll tear us apart and I'll serve you the divorce papers a couple of days later, looking all distraught and teary-eyed. Throughout that terrible fight, we'll say the nastiest things to each other, things so despicable that neither Scarlett Johansson nor Adam Driver would've been able to deliver them while filming Marriage Story (during the climax scene, you know the one, I know you do). However, and luckily for both of us, all those insults will fade away... unlike the spark that ignited said fight. You will say something as shitty as 12:56, claiming that "Climbing Up the Walls" is one of the worst cuts on OK Computer. And you will hurt me, like no one ever did before. And I won't be able to forgive you. But still, looking forward to the years of marriage before that tragic moment. I know they will be the best years of my life. Love you, boo. Keep the vids coming! 🫂
i will be the weird one saying this: Amnesiac is my fav Radiohead album, isn't like i don't like the others, i love them all, BUT Amnesiac is so cathartic in a emotional way that not other album makes me feel, isn't cold as Kid A, you're not watching a fire, you're the fire and it hurts.
Yes! Amnesiac is my favorite too, and everyone always thinks I'm crazy, but the mood of that album is just so intense, very few albums have ever hit me the same way Amnesiac does.
My ranking: 9. Pablo honey 8. Hail to the thief 7. The bends 6. A moon shaped pool 5. OK compuer 4. Amnesiac 3. In Rainbows 2. The king of limbs 1. Kid A
I feel like I have an instant connection with the people that have In Rainbows as their favorite. Like I know I could hang out with you if you're an In Rainbows kinda person. It's like an astrological sign for down bad people.
you should react to either "Relationship of Command" by At The Drive In which is a really influential post hardcore band or "Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta which is a prog band that sprouted from at the drive in. I think you'd enjoy both for different reasons
love this channel i cant really watch this video because im not through their whole discography yet but like i loved the first 20 seconds and i'll be back here sometime
I think it’s very important to note that the king limbs has a live album version that also includes some B sides and everyone and their mother can agree that it’s the definitive version of the album. It’s amazing.🩵
the bends is my favorite because its warm and melancholic. the sadness is sweet and isn't overbearing like videotape and let down. (imo, let down is their saddest song and I literally avoid it) but I agree w your ranking. in rainbows is awesome but I'm never ready for videotape! this rank was valid and I like the justice that you gave their first album lol it gets too much hate simply because its not as experimental as the rest ,but bc people turn away from it so soon, they're missing out on some awesome gems.kid a triggers my creativity so I treasure kid a.
You absolutely have to listen to cutouts by The Smile. If you don’t know, the smile is Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood’s side project, and cutouts is absolutely amazing. In my opinion, it’s better than many of Radiohead’s albums.
So Smags…. I’ve been watching these since you reviewed The VU & Nico…. I’ve been really impressed with how you interpret music and lyrics. I’m old….. I’ve known about RH since 1993 and they’ve been my favorite band since 1995. You’ve literally been listening to them for a year and are pretty spot on. But I implore you to watch TKOL: From The Basement. I know you just listen to albums and not videos. But please, just for this one. You will have a completely different perspective. It’s a master class.
Good video, Smags. Agree with you on that slowed down version of Pyramid Song. Agreed on Hail to the Thief being better than Amnesiac. It's a tough job when you get near the top. So many bangers.
Hey Smags have you given TKOL: From The Basement a listen? (And there are a couple of songs that didn't make it into the final album). Maybe you could react to it. It completely transforms the songs in TKOL I think it is worth it. :)
i love kid a, it's definitely my favourite of radiohead's albums. in rainbows 2nd, amsp & ok computer 3rd, httf & amnesiac 4th. i haven't really gotten into the bends, tkol or pablo honey as album experiences but i can respect the bangers (you, little by little, just, street spirit, bloom)
5:06 rym chart weighting favors popularity and amnesiac has way more ratings than most of the albums above it so its pretty high up despite its aggregate rating
While I don't like PH and Bends, I think it's really cool that we have a three album run where listeners can really hear a group develop with each step. You can get a good sense of how the band finds it's sound and develops into what they are now. The evolution is so clear to see.
I think King of Limbs is better than Moon Shaped Pool.. granted, I haven't listened to the latter that much. OK Computer is incredible - not perfect though.. I agree that Electioneering and Climbing up the Walls are significantly worse than the rest of the album. Like spruced up B-sides.. I even had trouble warming to Let Down.. I hated it in the beginning. In Rainbows is perfect but it's more like a beautiful afterthough. I appreciate how big of a leap they took on OK Computer so for that reason that would be my number 1. maybe in rainbows next or kid a.. kid a was groundbreaking too. but i think i'll go with in rainbows. and maybe even king of limbs after that :D I just love the atmosphere of that album. It's the most relatable Radiohead album to me. I love the aesthetic of the lyrics - flying birds and jellyfish in space etc. and the kind of jammed nature of it.. repetitive. I might be slightly autistic maybe that's why but that's easily the most familiar radiohead album vibe-wise.. it's kinda what i am. pyramid song also but dont love amnesiac. pablo honey is ok.. it's good. better than people say. bends is a bit guitar-heavy. sounds a bit dated but obviously a great album. to me nice dream is the least memorable song on it. :people are different :D
YES!!!! In Rainbows is my #1 as well!! It’s truly their magnum opus👌🏼 I’d rank the other 8 as: 2. Kid A 3. OK Computer 4. A Moon Shaped Pool 5. The Bends 6. Hail to the Thief 7. The King of Limbs 8. Amnesiac 9. Pablo Honey
1) Kid A 2) Amnesiac 3) Ok computer 4) Moon shaped pool 5) King of Limbs 6) In Rainbows 7) Hail to the Thief 8) The Bends 9) Pablo Honey I'm right y'all can shut up.

OKC easily the best. In Rainbows is more consistent but OKC easily has higher highs and is so much more of an emotional rollercoaster. Let me know what you think of my opinion when you read this Smags

A moon shaped pool is secretly #1
It's a great record. I wouldn't be mad if it was someone's favorite tho.
I don't agree, but I do respect this rake
100% agree

Great list bro, I saw them live in 2018 and man listening to the Tourist live was out of this world
you should react to either "Relationship of Command" by At The Drive In which is a really influential post hardcore band or "Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta which is a prog band that sprouted from at the drive in. I think you'd enjoy both for different reasons
Time for More Dylan especially after the biopic
