    If you were just starting, but easily had the budget would you start with this setup? Or would say - start w iPhone, a lapel mic, and tripod (it’s what I have). But I tend to like to buy the right thing for longer term success…but also have a tendency to buy too much.

    • @benjohnsoncreative
      @benjohnsoncreative  Рік тому

      What iPhone do you have? Anything newer than a 12 will work just fine for most things. If you're struggling with consistency, it's probably best to work with what you have for now until you've got a good and reliable content creation method. If you're already consistent in creating than for the upgrade!

    I built one of these following Caleb's original video, the one thing that people do not think about (or I didnt) is it is ONLY good if you want to use a VERY wide angle lens or have your head take up the whole screen, because the light is right next to the camera you can not really get your whole upper body in the shot without the light being in wrong place, and adding a microphone makes this problem even worse. The solution?? Leave the camera out of it, just get a light tripod and that way your light and microphone are on one stand and its super convenient.

    • @benjohnsoncreative
      @benjohnsoncreative  3 роки тому +1

      Great question! In short, the raw video footage is always a lot bigger than the final output especially for web size uploads like UA-cam :)
      For example, this video of mine that you watched was around 3gb at the final
      Export, but the raw footage for it was close to 100gigs
