    I just discovered xotic , really digging this XSC-2 , and I’ve been around a while, what I don’t have is a strat with a humbucker, this guitar sounds amazing and of course your playing is stellar 👍

      Surfrby Thank you very much. This is a great guitar.
      I just finished my guitar parts on a track for my album with this guitar Yesterday - awesome tones IMO. Great single coil and vintage HB tones - just lovely 😊

    Great video, playing, and song composition, Nuno style :o)
    Also very cool “cut to the chase” showing the different sound parts.
    The combination of Raw Vintage and No Fret Buzz is incredible,, Resonate at max and brings life to the alder woods,, a deep sweet and beautiful tone. Today’s No.1 choice of guitar, no doubt.

      Thank you, Thank you and YES :) It is a wonderful guitar. Plays fantastic and sounds really good. With a really fat neck like I wanted (Fat D shape, 10inch radius)... And those RV pickups are just AWESOME. Cheers Simon

    Hi Simon, this sounds amazing. Can you tell me if the hum bucker taps for a single coil sound too? particularly in the no 2 position. Ive looked on the Xotic website but can't find the answer...

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  7 років тому

      Bill Sherrington Hi Bill. Thank you :) No tab with this humbucker. I have asked about a 4 conducter wire pickup, but right now it´s not an option. The pickup sounds very good and also great in pos 2 with bridge and middle, but it is not the bright single/single sound. Makes it great for crunch tones. Cheers

      Manuel Borg everything in this guitar is just great and it is light weight too. That roasted maple neck is the way to go :)

    Nice video, great "grab to go for any gig" guitar. I had these locking tuners too, but changed it for Sperzels. I found these top locking tuners not easy enough to use for a quick string change.

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  8 років тому

      Thanks :) I am use to these tuners, so I don´t really think about it. On my old strat I have Sperzel and they work great too and very fast when changing strings. Cheers

    Fantastic demo track Simon, and beautiful guitar. I've been interested in these guitars since seeing them on a NAMM video earlier this year. Are they made to order? I can't actually find one for sale! I'm also wondering if Xotic do any custom options like neck profile and fretboard radius.

    Hi, thanks for this video. Great sounding guitar.
    I have a question, maybe you will find the time to answer it.
    Is there a treble bleed on the Volume Pot (Capacitor and maybe a resistor)?
    Or does the guitar losing High Ends when you turn down the Volume Pot?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  7 років тому

      Oliver Szekely Hi Oliver. Thank you :) It is as you say a fantastic guitar. I don´t know if there is a treble bleed to be honest, but it does not cut a lot of high end when you turn down the volume pot. I think it cleans up really well and I actually always run the volume pot to control the amount of gain. Just my way of playing :) I always play loud with quite a bit of gain and the turn down the volume to clean up and go from from crunch to lead. Ever since I bought my ´64 VOX AC30 I have been playing like that and it is the same with the Komet amps...full blast :) Cheers

    Can I ask you Simon: whats your thoughts on maple vs rosewood fretboard?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  5 років тому

      For me there is no doubt at all. I prefer maple. I wasn´t really aware of this until I ordered a Custom Rahbek guitar some years ago. I wanted this White strat with maple neck mostly because of the look, but when I got it I could hear a difference that I really like. I have since then tested a huge amount of great guitars and 99% of the time the maple neck guitars were the ones I gravitated towards.
      I have this Xotic guitar with a killer roasted maple neck and I just recently got a Custom Tele from Greenriver guitars with a maple neck (with tru-Oil). I like the top end and clean sound of the maple :)
      Cheers Simon

    • @goswo
      @goswo 5 років тому

      Simon Gotthelf Gear Demos thats really interesting. The Exotics are pretty dark, so not this bright Maple’ish neck. That probably helps, cause I alway feels it easier for me to navigate on a rosewood fretboard. But its just visuals, but still. Maybe I should try it out on the Exotic :-)

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  8 років тому +1

      Thank you. Pickups are not noiseless (other than the humbucker), but it is not a problem. They are not noisy at all. Adjustment is under the pickguard. But the guitar was perfectly adjusted when I got it straight out of the box.
