As a retired C-130 pilot, I have had the honor of flying several 'angel flights'.
The C-130 Hercules aircraft featured in this video is most often the first aircraft that fallen soldiers are transported on out of the war zone on their long journey home. These flights are given the highest priority and all other aircraft are instructed to stop and wait for an 'angel flight'.
It is strikingly coincidental that a 'flare salvo' from a C-130 resembles an angels wings.
God speed home to all of my fellow brothers and sisters deployed in harms way.

I don’t I much but an EMT 2 and on the Fire Dept BUT MY HUSBAND is the real hero he is big and strong and I WISH I made more $$$$$ So he could do it full time (I would ok if he did now......I was raised BIG TIME DIFFERENTLY BUT HIS FAMILY IS who or was who they were BECAUSE OF EXTREME COMMITMENT AND HARD WORK just between that and God led them to more ANYWAYS) I was just trying to say I can live on ramen noodles (prefer a garden though) BUT HE IS PRIMARILY a firefighter and our house runs some calls!!!!!!! Course we have a bad section of I-20, quite a few large chicken houses and I mean ALOT some businesses ALOT of older people and county roads and in MS MEGA WEATHER COMBO. BUT I WISH I COULD drink one for these who give it all now. I will still put some juice or tea in a shot glass or whiskey glass and do it for them!!!! And my family was always really patriotic BUT I WAS IMPACTED by 9/11 ........tons of friends and family fought Nd I had JUST HUNG UP THE PHOEB with an investment banker who is no longer with us and the tv was on in the bank lobby. I am NOT a criers AT ALL UNTIL IT COMES TO PATRIOTISM NO MATTER WHAT SHAPE USA is in like now. I WILL STILL STAND PROUD AND STRONG!!!!!! If you or family served THANK YOU!!!!!

Amazing song with simple music and a powerful, impactful message.
I believe Darius Rucker is the second voice on this song. He said when Radney contacted him to collaborate on it and sent him the music and an early cut, he called back and said he'd be happy to sing it with him if he could ever stop crying.

The ceremony was for the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division that were lost during Panama. The boots were placed backwards in the stirrups of the horses that we lead during the ceremony. Depending on air traffic and ground conditions, Air traffic control would usually let them do a fly by to release a flares for the family. When did that stop? When I was active Marine I would often already be there with the family and help them adjust to the dead Warrior coming home.*

The one thing alot of people don't know, an Angel Flight has priority over all flights, it's has priority landing and take off, it trumps Air Force One in take off and landing.

Garrison Brothers is the first legal distillary in Texas. Texas has its whiskey rules too. In order for it to be considered a "Texas" whiskey it has to have all Texas ingredients. I haven't tried a bad Garrison Brothers bottle yet.

PO2 Marc Lee was the first SEAL killed in Ramadi Iraq on August 2, 2006. Marc was killed when he exposed himself to lay down covering fire with his machinegun to protect his teammates behind him, as they were taking withering gunfire from an adjacent building. Marc Lee received the Silver Star for his actions that day in what was arguably the most dangerous city in the world at that time, a city where acts of bravery like this by the young men and women fighting there were all too common.
When PO2 Marc Lee was flown from Dover into San Diego, an all common, but under-discussed event occurred. All flights stopped. All activity in the airport ceased. The passengers and staff were told that the first SEAL to give his life in the Iraq War was returning home. The windows of the terminals overlooking the tarmac were filled with thousands of silent onlookers, taking by a moment to honour a brave man who gave all.
This became almost too common throughout the GWOT. It happened far too often, but if anything can be gleaned from it, it is faith that there are good people in this world, who know what needs to be done and have the backs of rough men and women who will go do it.
To those who gave all 🥃

My wife was on one of those civilian flights. Apparently, some dude on the flight wasn't paying attention to the announcements from the flight deck on it, and was yammering on a cell phone while they unloaded the fallen hero. He was standing up, talking on his phone, rummaging through the overhead compartment when some dude in his 30s with real short hair appeared at his seat, and advised him to "shut the f up or take a beatdown."
Dude immediately STFU'd. My wife said she didn't think he was being intentionally disrespectful, she said the guy told the short-haired dude he didn't hear the announcement and gave a genuine apology.
