Good luck for the future Kerry. We met a long time ago on a kayak fishing trip. I've spent some time in New York. Long Island sound is just to the east of the city and has great fishing. It generally gets better the further east you go. You won't find the underwater environment too different from Northland. Porgy (smaller version of snapper), bluefish, big flounder and striped bass plus lots of others to target. They even have gurnard which they call sea robins. Americans hate catching them and rarely eat them! Hope to see some videos from that side of the world 😀
