Some people domt understand. Asian hair is so dark as well, so much red color inside the hair. I could only imagine how long this took.
Yup. I wasn't able to do any fashion colour on my hair because how pigmented my hair is and bleaching for so long will break my hair because it's just so dry.
I'm asian and my hair literally stays in the dark orange to light orange and hint of red just with 20 developer. Super brassy, so I had to put like a double ash to tone done the brass.
I bleached my hair for the first time last week and was shocked that it turned a peachy-red instead of the yellow/golden that I keep seeing on UA-cam. Then I realized I had to bleach twice to reach a level 7 or 8.
His hands are literally a blessing 🙌🏾 always amazed at his work. YOU GO GUY TANG! 💕
Every time I go to the salon..they can NEVER achieve my hair to this color in ONE session. They can't even lighten my hair to that level! They would always say Asian hair is hard lift and bla bla bla...meanwhile people in Cali know what they are doing on dark hair to get it lift to that level of blonde. They ALWAYS tell me I will need about 7-8 session to have blonde in my hair. And I'm on UA-cam and Instagram looking at a lot of videos of people achieving the blonde shade color in ONE SITTING. And what sucks is MOSt of them resides in California. I just guess it depends on how experience they are. I feel like I have really stubborn hair where the copper just want to hang on in my hair. Guy Tang gives me HOPE that I can have blonde in my hair and I am really trying still.
Cherry Luong Those salons fear their lack of experience & spending too much time on one client. Bleach, tone, color, condition, condition, condition .... and don’t shampoo often. Many forget to tone the yellow out if they want pastel colors. Good luck!
It can be frustrating and expensive but dont push them to do it if they dont think they can in one sitting. They may try just to please the customer and have bad results on your hair!

same!! i went to a hair salon hoping to dye my hair blonde, but the lady there always says how my "asian hair" can't be lightened in one session. so i literally left the salon with weird honey colored hair (not blonde at all) and had to pay over $200 for that, which wasn't even the result i wanted.
You guys realize that she is his ONLY client of the day and she spent all day with him. She also probably spent over $1000.

Omg, that shampoo chair - I love it. I’m a disabled veteran, lots of back and neck issues, when I see these at any hairdresser I make sure to thank them personally. Those chairs are crazy expensive, and that small accommodation means folks like me don’t have to suffer through these appointments. I adore you, Guy ~ what you do with color is an incredible inspiration. Color can be so empowering - and fun.

I asked a salon to do this to my hair once and they had no idea what they were doing. Instead of her result I got three blocks of colour in my hair with harsh lines, I had to get a dark blue over all of it to cover it up.
I've never been to a local salon where they understand about the rootage, no matter how bright the hair, a darker root always makes its look better.
