I am older and come from the age of records. I have and do listen to many types of music. The one group that speaks to my soul, you have introduced to me , Bohren & Der Club of Gore. Sunset Mission is my favorite and have purchased about all albums of theirs except for one or two. Channel like yours helps open up music to many. Thanks.

I enjoy your enthusiasm. I grew up with vinyl. It seems like when CD'S came out, vinyl was just not good enough anymore. I never got rid of my vinyl, 8-tracks, or cassettes. But I stored them away. Because of channels like yours, I got back into vinyl. And cassettes. I am not abandoning CD's or digital music files. I just have choices of what I want to play. Playing records was fun. And still is. Other times, I just want to hear music without messing with vinyl. Depends on my mood. You have a great variety of cool albums I don't have. I wish I could afford them.

Something that fits into your choices is the album "Dusk" by The The. Also moody and dark, with just enough punch to keep the darkness from completely overwhelming you.
And since its an early 90's release, getting in on vinyl, like Low, will cost you well over $100!
Wow you got Renaissance live at Carnegie Hall that album speaks to me I still listen after almost 50 years just one of the best live albums I've ever heard from some great musicians and a world-class singer!!!!😀✌

I'm currently spinning Eric Clapton's self titled debut album. I highly recommend getting a copy. Also Electric Light Orchestra's "Out of the blue" is my favorite ELO album.

The most I’ve ever spent on a record is $1,463 for a Princes Rainbow Children. Still sealed. It took me one year to get every single Prince album on vinyl, CD, and cassette. I’m a big Prince fan lol.

The most incredible album that I heard in ages, is the best album of 2020, and is the first great record of the 2020s is “The Kinspiral” by P. Rosa. One of the songs helped me to mourn a good friend of mine who died that past January. I never heard music that made me cry so hard for so long, and I own over 5,000 CDs and 1,000 vinyl. Unfortunately,it’s not available on physical media, save for burned CD-Rs that the artist makes himself on custom-made covers. Peace.

4. Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Moody, Melancholy (Or Mellon Collie 🤫) and downright depeessing at times, yet always manages to convey beautiful and energetic moments throughout the whole album.
3. Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want
Such a disturbing work of art who's horror comes not from the contents in particular...but how *real* they really are. Always conveying such visceral messages and thoughts while presenting it in such chaos and distortion. Still remains as the darkest album of all time.
2. Swans - To Be Kind
Every part of this 2+ hour album is something that takes you on a trip from front to back. The ambience, sound, and vocal performances all reach to a part of people that are better left alone. Listening to this whole album from front to back will have you leaving mentally exhausted and questioning the very fundamentals of life itself.
1. Palms - Palms
While not as complex, intense, or expiremental as the other albums listed. This one is the only one i can truly say that genuinely touches my soul. From the imagery i get and the overwhelming feeling of sadness that aries, i truly feel no other album really expresses a part of me better than this album does. From Mission Sunset to Tropics, to the closing track itself...it all puts so much mental stress on me and wears me out by the end of it. Antarctic Handshake still stands as the one track that actually makes me tear up and makes me genuinely depressed and ruins my entire mood. No such beauty has ever or ever will be captured like this ever again.

Nice choices. Siamese Dream is my favorite album of all-time, and The Downward Spiral & To Be Kind are both absolutely essentials. I need to check out Daughters and Palms now, haven’t heard either yet but based on this list I’m pretty sure I would dig them a lot.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is definitely the album that speaks to my soul the most. It’s epic and complex, yet emotional and has a deep meaning behind it. And the guitar in part 6 of Shine On You Crazy Diamond hits me hard every time.
