The only improvement I’d suggest is, when prying the fob apart, after removing the key, there are two square nodules inside the key area on the fob. They are spaced so as to be slightly narrower than the key. Just push the end of the key between those nodules and the fob pops open.
thank you for the instruction. I will say that I wasn't careful enough and the buttons flew everywhere like I was playing Perfection lol scared me at first but I got them back into they're places 😂
When I was trying to take out the battery the other plastic part of the housing came off and all of the buttons and plastic pieces came off and fell on the floor. Luckily I was able to look at my 2nd keyfob and piece everything back together by looking at how it was arranged, but it was a stressful few minutes

I was having the same issue! Battery wouldn’t come out
I used a pair of PLASTIC tweezers I happen to have and popped right out. Do not use a metal tweezer.

Your method doesn’t work and it is a very destructive way to open a Honda civic key and I won’t suggest this method to anyone it sucks
