How to beat the Aoye boss in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This is the easiest strat I could come up with to help players struggling with this boss early game.
TIP: If you still struggle with this, you might want to take a more aggressive approach by using the Divine Beast buff instead (SQUARE+TRIANGLE) on PlayStation. The buff puts shock on your weapon, which builds fast to proc as its weak to it. When it procs the boss staggers, which in turn allows you to get more damage in when you activate your Divine Beast. If you use Zhao Yun's spear martial art, you can melt this boss really quickly once you get the Divine Beast. I made the guide to help people struggling, but the way I personally play is to buff and go crazy. Maybe it'll work for you too.
I recommend using a leveled-up dual swords (I used Gan Jiang and Mo Ye), learn this enemy's moves, deflect well and attack aggressively. I also equipped Inner Breath which allows me to replenish my Divine Beast gauge quickly. If you can learn to deflect its critical (red) moves and the ice attacks, it makes this fight easier.
In ng+, and I have a harder time with this boss specifically than with Lu Bu or the final boss lol. There's just something about his red charge attack that throws me off sometimes, and one botched parry is game over.
If you're having a bad time don't use any martial arts at all. Martial Arts consume spirit and since its attacks are hard to deflect, the likelihood is you won't have enough spirit to tank a hit and will get staggered. So, only light attacks with the odd heavy attack if you think you can get the timing on it (as heavy attacks also reduce their total overall spirit in between fatal attacks). Re Divine Beast, Qinglong for those heals. If you equip Inner Breath and keep that activated as your only spell, and do light attacks only, you should be able to get Qinglong activated twice during the fight. Once you activate Qinglong you can stand toe-to-toe with the boss and you'll keep getting fully healed. If you take in two reinforcements, do only light attacks, keep inner breath active, and make it your priority to rez your buddies, you should be able to get through. Just remember to command your pals to attack as that takes a lot of the heat off you. Keep your eye on their health bar and try to stay close to the one who is getting lowest. Absorb Vitality will help keep your friends alive too, but you have to activate it when you're near them, which is a bit harder to do, and it doesn't do a great deal overall for them in this fight. Still, that can be your second spell to try to keep them up for longer. But the best tip is light attacks. The more you get your spirit into the blue, the more you can afford to block instead of deflect.
@@sensemusicofficial Yep, it's a deflect check, yet ironically it's the one boss you want to try to get away from to deflect the least. The strat I came up with aims to get you deflecting as infrequent as possible. But yep, you still have to deflect the crits to get in the big damage. Aside from the crits though there's room to get whacked and staggered instead of deflecting as just blocking has the benefit of resetting your spirit fast enough for you to usually escape and get distance. A lot of people hate this boss, and I can see why. But I also love it. Its animations are sick, and it looks awesome, and if you're a pure deflect player, it's a real challenge! 😁
Remember you can respec. Travel to the village from the flag near the boss, respec to suit, then travel back to the same map and you'll be still at the flag before the boss.
I have nothing against dying in a fair fight against a DS3 or BB boss. But not to a cheap ball of fur whos movements I can't see and who instakills you by fat-rolling over you. I want to like Team Ninja's games but they are so reluctant to "git gud" in game design that I think their games have just not earned my dedication.
