I’m an ER surgical RN. We’ve seen and treated the most heinous and horrific child abuse victims. This one by far Lamont, is truly the worst I’ve ever heard. To say I’m sickened by this is an understatement.💔
The worst you've ever heard, but not the worst case. These celebs are abusive behind closed doors. Beatings, neglect, sexual abuse. Many of them are parents, so they have someone to abuse for their occult pracrices. True fact.
Child abusers don't even deserve to be buried in the same ground as innocents. They should be tossed in a woodchipper and left in a field for the birds and worms.
I'm honestly surprised the other female inmates didn't handle business with her. She deserved nothing less than what she herself did to that innocent child.
She actually did very well in prison, she taught sewing classes and was called MOM due to her mentoring to the other young woman. Unbelievable and sad.
Yeah I don't understand that either. In a male prison the guy wouldn't last 16 hours. But females don't seem to mind this sort of pos. Which is mind baffling consider there are so many mothers in prison.
A friend of mine is a prison guard at a high security women's prison and she told me that the inhouse justice that is meted out to child abusers is predominantly a men's prison thing. For some reason it is not as big a deal in women's prison for some reason.
Righteous anger from Lamont and I agree. The thing that I love about your channel is your defense of those who could not defend themselves at the hands of these cold blooded, evil murderers. You speak for them and that is why you are so loved and respected by your many subscribers.
This story is what nightmares are made of, poor little Sylvia Likens. The sad truth is this was a time in our country where child abuse and child welfare was not really something anyone talked about, as it was considered a distasteful topic. No one paid a high enough penalty for what they did to this girl, nor did any of them have a good enough reason why they went along with it, nor why they never told another adult to get help for Sylvia. I hope each and every one of them had a horrible life, and met up with a worse fate in the afterlife.
Too often, abusive monsters like this woman whose name I won’t even mention, rule by intimidation. The vulnerable ones around them see what becomes of the victims at the receiving end of their rage, and they choose to align with the abuser at an attempt to stay safe. It happens in abusive families regularly and heaps guilt onto the survivors later. Intimidation and fear are disgustingly effective measures of control.
@@elisabethhughes6005 although I agree with you, this was not the case here. I've read the old court transcripts on this case( years ago there was a movie which prompted me to do more research) at least 12 neighborhood children participated in this murder, going over to that house to torture this girl was just something you did before dinner and tv. The oldest daughter was 17 and was pregnant, and she was a evil girl . Hobbs age 11 a neighbor boy who became a major participant is suspected to have been sleeping with the mother Gertrude ( so along with being nuts she was also a pedophile apparently) Gertrude herself had 7 children, didn't work. The family pastor visited twice, she told him horrible things about Sylvia and that she had hate in her heart for the girl. They prayed together, he didn't tell the authorities, nor did he ask to see Sylvia The next door neighbors also personally saw Sylvia being beaten twice, they said nothing to no one. Another neighbor saw her pushed down and stomped in the groin, she said nothing. Sylvia's younger sister Jenny was able to contact their older sister who was married, but she just figured it was a lie. Eventually she went to the house and Gertrude threatened to call the police, she did tell Social services, they went to the house and Gertrude told the case worker that Sylvia was a whore and had ran away, the care worker never went inside. Another child DID TELL HER MOTHER, THAT SHE SAW THEM KICK SYLVIA HER MOM REPLIED, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE BAD. @@annethomer9569 100 % agree as would have I. This case is a study in control and psychology of abuse. The older sister did once wait outside and tried to talk to the youngest sister, but she screamed I CAN'T TALK TO YOU and ran away. ( this is when she called social services, but she also just went home. She didn't hang around at all ) Also the parents of the 2 girls had visited twice within a month and the girls said nothing, considering the abuse started with a week, why didn't they? Because they felt they had no value? Or because they felt that was no help for them? The school saw the bruises daily as Sylvia attended school until the last 2 or 3 weeks of her life, the Likens family had a total of 5 children, Sylvia had 2 younger brothers that were left with the grandparents, why not leave the girls there as well instead of with a COMPLETE STRANGER..why was Sylvia and Jenny just treated like spare baggage you dropped off, instead of their children? Why didn't the parents face charges of abandonment of their children? At this time it was not uncommon to have kids boarded out, or have kids as young as 12 working and not going to school, yes there was laws, but most of the time they were ignored depending on where you lived. Also most of the abuse was sexual in nature, Sylvia was as a rule after being taken to the basement kept naked and most of the abuse was aimed at her private parts. Unfortunately the fact is due to the so called moral structure at that time, you just minded your business, what went on in a person's home was private. As far the control Gertrude had, the facts of this murder show that most of the abuse that actually caused Sylvia's death? Was done by children, 3 of whom were once her friends. Much like how people followed the Nazi into doing evil things without question, this is how these children acted, following the orders given by a evil crazy woman, and often the children came up with new ways to torture Sylvia when Gertrude wasn't even in the room or aware of it. ( Not that she would have stopped it) Her sister once said, she did nothing as she was afraid of if she did, the abuse would become worse. Most videos on the horrible case never give the details as UA-cam most likely would pull the video or demonetize it. It's my opinion there should be a monument to Sylvia Likens in this town, to honor her and all the names of EVERY SINGLE PERSON INVOLVED SHOULD BE ENGRAVED ON IT. It doesn't matter if it was almost 70 years ago. The people of that town should never be allowed to forget.
This brings another tragic story to mind. I hope she is burning in hell. What a sick and evil woman. She was probably abused herself and one of her parents was abused and the abuse goes back for who knows how long but that gives no one an excuse to abuse a young girl or any person. And no flowers on her head stone and that's the way it should be. She doesn't deserve to have flowers on her head stone. She doesn't deserve a head stone at all. I like your channels and your stories you tell Lamont. Keep it up.
It is based on a true story but not this one. It's the story of Joan Crawford which was still bad and abusive but way less severe than the Sylvia Likens case, not sure how they got the two mixed up. If you want a movie about the actual case, there have been a couple including An American Crime.

Mrs H 🇬🇧 .. Lamont I've heard this story a few times..Dear Lord how heinous was this vile, Wicked woman... This woman is the female monster of all time... She makes me sick..😡
I was in Indianapolis back when she was paroled. 88 or 89 whatever it was. Me and a girl was at a Myer store on the westside of Indianapolis. It was late/dark that evening. Perhaps after 10 towards 11 PM whatever the time. And as we were standing in line waiting to checkout. I look at the person whom was having her products scanned. And it was Gertrude Baniszewski. I told the girl i was with. I said. LOOK. its Gertrude. I Kept looking at her, and she knew i was starring at her. So she stop for probably a second or so and just stared back at me. We made eye contact for that short moment. But now I understand what one means when they say they looked at someone and could feel the evil. That's what i felt. Pure evil i felt when we made eye contact.
You just made that up because she was patrolled in 1985 to the state of Iowa, and never left the state, and was hospitalized most of 1989 and 1990 until she died.

I think every single one of the horrible abusers should have been given the death penalty, or had to serve life in prison with no chance of parole. I was a victim of severe child abuse. Nothing was done or reported back when I was a child. After I was grown, I saw one of my Mother’s friends and she told me she never thought I would live to grow up, she thought Mother would kill me. She said all Mother’s friends used to talk about it and all thought I wouldn’t live to grow up. My question was, why didn’t someone do something?! They all remained silent, just talked about it among themselves….
Omg vile disgusting monster the poor girls I hope her sister was OK and living a safe happy life. I hope all the others who participated in this horrendous crime gets what they deserve and hope it haunts them for the rest of their lives. Thanks lamont for sharing. Love from West Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧 💙 💚
I’ve worked in social services for over 20 years now and sadly this is not uncommon. Thank you Lamont for getting this out there. Hopefully people will say something if they see something so this doesn’t happen again. Take care.
It's not...and people wonder why I continue to have nothing to do with my mother. The hospital can keep her when she dies. And, no, I won't change my mind.
I saw the movie years back and it was a horrible family that was pure evil to do what they did to Sylvia Likens. I could hear the disdain in your voice Lamont, with every right. ☮️💜
I remember this story That poor girl, Silvia Likens... went through torture and murder at the hands of Gertrude and the other children there When I heard about this story, I wept at how disgusting and evil, the way... that they treated her was. They made her cut words like slut, into her own belly. Or Gertrude might have cut that word onto her stomach 😢😢😢 So sickening and evil, beyond comprehension
I saw nothing in Gertrude's eyes. Sadly, this woman an my stepmother would have gotten along great. My stepmother was abusive with me and was treated like an upper class member of society while I am treated like I am scum. Abuse victims always are because the abusers convince others that they are trash. I feel your anger in this. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.
There are very few things that make me angry. There isn't much people can do to set me off but this would. If I caught someone abusing a child like this I would go mentally ballistic on that person. Plus things I can't say here. This abuse against a child is an evil that is unacceptable
If memory serves me right, Stephanie accepted a plea deal or acted as a witness during the trial. She wasn't a participant in the torture of Sylvia, but she didn't intervene to help her either. Stephanie ended up becoming a teacher. Paula ended up getting a job as a teacher's aid in a special needs program at a high school. The school only found this out after an anonymous tip. The school fired her and later received received public outrage for not completing a background check.

There was a movie made in 2007 that was loosely based on this story called "The Girl Next Door." I couldn't even get through it. It was awful! RIP Sylvia.
From what I've heard, Paula was the ring leader. After she got patrolled, she did change her name. Some years ago she had some high end administration job. But someone fingered out who she really was and she did end up getting fired. But I agree with you, they all should have remained in jail.
Such a disturbing story. I’ve seen many horrific things done by humans to other humans from my many years working on an ambulance and doing body removals. Nightmares to this day.

The Neighbours Are Just As GUILTY!!!
Keep it up.
Every time I hear about this story I keep thinking the best thing we can do is forget the abuser's name but never Sylvia's
Well done Lamont.... Stories like these aren't easy to speak about but they are needed, some people don't know sick people like this exist!
I watched the movie not realizing it was a true story until years later. Truly horrific
It is based on a true story but not this one. It's the story of Joan Crawford which was still bad and abusive but way less severe than the Sylvia Likens case, not sure how they got the two mixed up. If you want a movie about the actual case, there have been a couple including An American Crime.
My mom had me watch it when I was 10. 🤦🏻♀️ It horrified me! 😂
@@absatwell8163
Just curious, Why did she have you watch it at that young age. Some things children should not see. At least that's how I was brought up.
@@lornalulich9562 Probably because we had 3 channels and it was on. She probably wanted me to know she wasn’t a horrible mother. 🤣 I thought The Wizard of Oz was much scarier.
@@absatwell8163why are you laughing about it 😢😮
Thank you for sharing this. It wasn't about her, it was about Sylvia who deserves to be remembered.
This was one nasty woman. What she and her kids had done to that girl is beyond anything that has been done to abuse a child
She's burning in the hottest part of hell.
We have a little girl in the Greenup Kentucky cemetery who experiences the same treatment. Rest her soul. I wish someone would do her story. She was laid to rest 2010.
I read The boy called it .😢
The angel from her grave was restored and it’s in the entrance of Greenbo state lodge. It’s such a tragic story, she was so small, I think around 5
I will never forget Sylvia. I tear up thinking about what they did to her. RIP Sweet Sylvia. We will never forget.💔
Her daughter that went to jail changed her name and worked in some school system. When she was found out they fired her. That was the last I heard.
Paula was her name
Mrs H 🇬🇧 .. Lamont I've heard this story a few times..Dear Lord how heinous was this vile, Wicked woman... This woman is the female monster of all time... She makes me sick..😡
Like Lamont always says, “payable upon death.”😢😢😡😡😡
It's somewhat satisfying to know that she's burning right now in the hottest part of hell. 🕊️
Love what you do. I always wonder the same. When walking in the cemetery
Me too.
Rest in peace Sylvia likens a innocent girl whom didn’t deserve to die a horrible painful death 😢😢😢😢😢 hopefully she got justice someday 🙏🙏🙏
R.I.P. Sylvia. Could never forget.
R.I.P. Sylvia . Such evil in this world.
Nothing worse than a sicko child molester or beater, good video my friend stay safe👍
I agree this has to be the worse case I’ve ever heard in history. Just disgusting! The movie made it worse 😔😔. Good work Lamont.
I'm so glad this woman is worm food now. It's probably the only thing she's ever done to nourish anything or anyone.
I worked in a carnival briefly in 1969, when I was 16 years old. I wouldn’t recommend that job to anyone. It sucks!
Very sad and heartbreaking story 😢 Rest in peace Sylvia.
All of them disgusting and evil…they didn’t get away with what they did….they will STILL have to answer for their evil deeds…sad thank you Lamont
Really got to me this story saw the film..all monsters who did nothing to help and participated!!!
Lamont of all the videos I watch ,you have the most compassion for the victims but especially the children, you would be a wonderful dad,be blessed my friend.LaHoma from baton rouge la
It’s one of the worst crimes ever!!
Lamont u have beautiful eyes thanks for doing these videos, u are so kind 🙏
Nobody………
Not one person……..
Lamont: “ You should’ve been executed “
Lamont I agree with you. I would probably go crazy if someone or multiple people did this to my child. I would set in Jail the rest of my Life because I would lose it on these people. Sorry for the girls. Hope the one still living made a Better Life for herself. God Bless ✝️
💐💐RIP Sylvia Marie Likens (3 Jan 1949- 26 Oct 1965) (aged 16), SN Lester Cecil Likens (22 Mar 1926-22 Feb 2013) (aged 86), Elizabeth Frances “Betty” Grimes Likens Matheson (2 May 1927- 29 May 1998) (aged 71), Benny Ray Likens (13 Feb 1950- 3 Aug 1999) (aged 49), Jenny Fay Likens Wade (13 Feb 1950- 23 Jun 2004) (aged 54) and Danny Kaye Likens (26 Nov 1946- unknown). 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you so much for this information!
Her whole bloodline gone
Her sister jenny passed away and the guys that were charged are decease too
@blkjuanesrose7381 thanks for updating me 💙💚
I've heard this story, I remember how heart broken I felt. Hello from Phoenix, Arizona. Love your channels.
I blame the parents too ...
Thank you Lamont !!!
Thank you Lamont 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Lamont you are the most caring person and you have the biggest Heart . Thanks for all that you do Love you Bunches my friend ❤
Your the man Lamont. Tell it as it is. Top episode.
Good Lord gets all bad people in end!!
I saw the movie years back and it was a horrible family that was pure evil to do what they did to Sylvia Likens. I could hear the disdain in your voice Lamont, with every right. ☮️💜
Justice surely was not served with this case. Smh. May that poor girl be resting in paradise.
You’ve said that perfectly; horrible mother
I remember this story
That poor girl, Silvia Likens... went through torture and murder at the hands of Gertrude and the other children there
When I heard about this story, I wept at how disgusting and evil, the way... that they treated her was.
They made her cut words like slut, into her own belly. Or Gertrude might have cut that word onto her stomach 😢😢😢
So sickening and evil, beyond comprehension
They made a movie of this, its absolutely sickening.
Thank you lamont for this sad story, the system & society really let this poor child down & many others.
I agree with you 100% Lamont ,,never change you are a good soul
They made 2 movies about it , an American crime, and the girl next door.
I agree with 😢you they got what they deserved they all got cancer and passed away..so you know karma comes back in a lot of ways for hurting innocent people and animals😢
Right!! I love going to cemeteries. Stopping and acknowledging those who came before. Keep them coming! You take me to cemeteries I will never see in person.
😪🌹RIP Sylvia Likens
Lamont, I feel same as you, they should have never gotten out of prison. Ik this story is a hard one for you certainly can tell that. I've watched the movies related to this An American crime & The Girl next door. Very horrific what was done to those girls. I've watched this channel for some time now & started with Lamont at Large. I'm not sure how I came across you but, I watched a video & was hooked. You have been my top cemetery stories I follow. Since, I use to go on cemetery walks & can no longer Im glad I found you. Be safe out there.
You are not being harsh at all! If you're old enough to do the horrible crime, you're old enough to pay for it. That poor young lady. Take care, Lamont
I feel like you Lamont. They should of rotted in prison gor the rest of their miserable lives. RIP Sylvia. ❤️🙏❤️
Paula had the nerve to leave jail and work in a school until word got out.
I sure hope she begged for forgiveness before she died .
Rip the young girl whom was brutally beaten, tortured, and murdered 😢😢😢😢
16:38 absolutely! I agree. Great job, Lamont. Thumbs up.
😷🤢 😷 people in this world!!! Sylvia isn’t the only victim!!!! We should protect our and all children from people like Gertrude!!!!
I agree, they should be in prison the rest of their lives. I saw the movie and it was horrible.
Most of the perpetrators are dead today
What movie was that you saw?
@@joannenix8497 there are 2 movies that I know of " The girl next door " & " An American Crime "
I watched the movie on this case about a year ago. It was sickening the abuse the girl went through. That woman was a monster!
Thank you for showing us this Lamont but it really messed me up i could Hunt these monsters down shoot them in the head and walk away and i even can't shoot a deer ❤
We got people like this running the country!
Wow, thanks, Lamont 😮 what a story! Sick people out there! 😢
For the life of me I can’t figure out why she was given a sentence that had the possibility of parole. I agree Lamont, the whole bunch should been locked up forever
You're totally forgiven for calling this lady a pig. She actually deserves the title. She never deserved to be called a mom or even a person. She was just a monster. She doesn't count as a woman you need to respect.
I agree with u Lamont. I love how u speak your mind.
Yes, I'm familiar with this sick and disgusting story. She's pure evil, among other things. R.I.P. Sylvia.
She is in a place called Hell Sylvia is in heaven with her sister now and her family she was a beautiful young lady and didn't deserve what she went through.
I remember watching the movie about Sylvia. What that poor girl went through is utterly disgusting! I will never understand how a person can do that to a child, or anyone for that matter. I know Gertrude is where she belongs.. Continue resting in peace beautiful Sylvia.
I found Stephanie her oldest daughter on Facebook.I cursed her out good
did she reply?
Iagree with you, Lamont, They never ever should have gotten out of prison. What is wrong with our judicial system? What was wrong with the juries of America? They don't want me on a jury judging people like this.......what a horrible shame.
The story always bothered me. The first learned about it 5 or 6 years ago. I have family who lived near there who are older and actually remembered details about this case. I used to always drop messages to my favorite UA-cam channels asking them to cover the story. There's more than what we've been told. I really appreciate you Lamont for covering it. I thought it was strange how the oldest boy died. They all got what was coming to them. I think her parents should have been held more responsible
Please tell me what happened to the teenage abusers after they got on with their lives.
The poor girl was just a damn punching bag. I hope that evil witch paid some type of way for her abuse.
