Makes me feel so much better that even you have a plant not do great. I beat myself up every time I do. I need to realize it happens. Thanks so much for sharing this
❤I used your link& bought the lights. A deal thanks to you. Paying it forward sure hope you receive something from those of us that bought. On the Sunrise OMG I was really hoping you would address this as I just lost my sunrise! (1st hoya to bite the dust) & they are supposed to be easy! Why does it hit hard when we lose certain plants?😫
❤ Oh boy that would be Fabulous, however I am in FL. I really appreciate your channel & think your subscriber #s will explode. I am also using your DIY spray & just got the MSU fert! Just delighted!
Thank you for sharing your Hoya Sunrise experience with us. So sorry you had to cut her up but I am sure her cuttings will thrive in your care. I’ve had to cut up two of my Hoyas over the past few years and I believe they declined due to dry rot. My cuttings survived and became nice full baskets. Can’t wait to see your cuttings in their mature state! Take care! 👌🪴🥰
OMG - I just bought one because of you, lol!! Ok, I'll watch and hope. - Good luck with it. I can see the future of that plant :) I appreciate the info.
Thanks for sharing this honest issue with plants. I've a new Ilagiorum that looked at me and laughed maniacally and promptly had 3 leaves whither when I unwrapped it nearly a month ago. The roots felt a bit rough when I repotted it, so I'm thinking dry rot. Still hopeful but skeptical as well. 😂 🇨🇦❤️
I have one of those, too. It is slowly but surely coming around after doing diddly over the winter (I bought it as a wee little thing last November). Cheers!
When my Hoya leaves get really limp I put the whole strand in water for the day and it really works to hydrate them back and then I can prop them. All those Hoyas you shared are ones I want to add to my collection. Tfs
@@soberplantguy I do need them. I have added a large amount of plants to my collection that will need to winter in the house….best to start the plan and prep now.
Aww. I am sorry this happened 😔 Thank you for sharing these things though. Im sure you’ll have a large lush Hoya Sunrise again in no time from those cuttings! Hoya can be so resilient… About a year ago I “treated” all of the few Hoyas that I had back then for root mealies, since I found them on like half of those plants. (Sidenote: I should have just chopped off the roots as the “treatment” killed off the roots off anyway) Afterwards those still full and uncut plants were stuck into a half perlite half cocosoil mixture, I did not want bark in there as that is harder to remove from roots in case the root mealies came back. Hoya Lisa, Hoya Kerii varieties and Hoya Carnosa (princess) rerooted themselves in ambient conditions (!!!). Hoya Wayetii (inner variegated), Heushkeliana (inner variegated) and Krohniana (super silver) stayed dehydrated and unrooted for months (!!) and still came back as full plants after I cut the dead roots off stuck them in moss/perlite mix and in higher humidity. Now all 3 of those are doing well, have a good root system and even flower. Due to my bad judgement they suffered a lot but they also pulled through against all odds 🎉. Now I do not think this would work for more finicky Hoya…. And if it happened again I would take cuttings and restart a fuller plant from there. Just wanted to point out that Hoya are true survivors
Yuck to the mealies. You're right, these plants (largely 🤣) want to survive. I'll be putting these in my grow tent. Lots of light, lots of humidity. Cheers from Iowa !
@soberplantguy I have a krimson princess that I repotted, and half the plant looks like that now. I feel like I was under watering. Remember the advice to let them dry out? I don't believe that now
@@planttherapy1860 If you've seen my other videos, you already know how I feel about that (and worse, let the leaves wrinkle before you water). So we are def on the same page 💯
Oh no! She was the most beautiful and biggest sunrise I've ever seen. It's so sad to see her like that, but I am very sure that she will gow again very beautifully for you. You got her that big from 1 vine, then you can do it better this time. She loved everything you were doing for her. That's why she was very happy to grow for you. Unfortunately, I don't know why she was thinking of starting again, but I know that she wants you to have her multiple plants rather than a single plant❤ good luck buddy 😊 I am happily waiting to see her new look❤

Totally. Especially Hoyas. I’ve heard so much information about keeping them dry that I think I’ve underestimated the amount of water they actually need (esp in my arid climate).
Ah, thank you. Those lights occasionally go on sale for $17 off, so keep an eye. I'll throw (gently set) those cutting into the grow tent and, as you know, they'll be gorgeous once again. Cheers from Iowa 😀
Oh no! What a gorgeous Hoya! I have a young sunrise, and the new leaves wilt and fall off. Some make it, some dont. It's a fav, so I'm hopeful it'll just grow!
If that doesn't improve--quickly--I'd be thinking about those roots. Mine hung on for quite some time with many leaves looking good, others ... not. Now that I've started the plant over it's looking fantastic. Just a thought for you, anyway. Cheers, and best of luck
Thanks Dave for the heads up on the lights. I have both the Kihung and Barrina. Can you speak on the difference between them? Also, I’m thinking I will cut ALL my Hoya back so that I can cage them. Finally. Where can I purchase plants you have for sell?
I've only used the Barrina, so I don't have any experience comparing them to other strip lights (and love them, so probably not looking to experiment).
