    i love it how they are willing 2 share their knowledge and not be so arrogant and stuff i know when people are famous ( i live in europe ) they ignore you and everything and herenyou have ty lawson who is willing 2 share and tell you he's in and probably if you see him he would give his autograph easy
    much respect for this game and his players #nba

    coach nick with dat lockdown d :D
    great video. I've known that both steve nash and chris paul like to do this a lot on a ball screen as well, the way they keep their defenders on their hip and back.

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  10 років тому +17

      It was cool that Lawson did it and Nash did it right back to him.

      Not to take away from Ty Lawson because this video is about him and he does a great job with this move. Steve Nash is a great player to watch and learn from because he has a great ability to be able to get to his spots and get separation with moves like this, despite not being athletic (by NBA standards).

    • @ReCharredSigh
      @ReCharredSigh 10 років тому

      banana403 pretty much what you said. steve nash in his prime had many creative and unorthodox ways to finish in the paint.

    The great thing about this break down, is that players at all standards can use this skill. I think the key is being patient and composed when you've got the defender behind you, its real easy to rush a shot/pass/dribble when you have the defender breathing down your back.

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  10 років тому

      Yes! Ty was talking about how players always get in a hurry and rush. Staying under control, balanced, while still being a threat is key. Thanks! #ImIn

  • @dunmatta2670
    @dunmatta2670 10 років тому +1

    Great video coach. I've become a poor roller in pnr so this might help improve my movement after the pick. But as more of a 2/3 player, I prefer back door cuts and popping out from a pick for a shot. Would be nice to see some videos on movement without the ball.

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  10 років тому +1

      Good idea. You mean movement out of screen and roll specifically? Did u see our demo on coming off down screens?

    • @dunmatta2670
      @dunmatta2670 10 років тому

      BBALLBREAKDOWN Naw but i shall look into it. Nothing specifically about movement just in general to maintain good spacing and improv plays when sets break down. It'll be nice to apply some organized play into pick up games.

    @Silky_Smooth91 10 років тому

    It's not really a new move, by the way, I've seen this many times expecially in Europe, but also in the US. Anyway it's a great move to do out of the pick and roll, when the 7'0 moves back to protect the area and you have the space to do this. You can set the tempo at your will, but some good defenders can still harass you from behind.
