That was so cool! There is not enough footage of real nba players talking about moves and tactics. Thx to Coach Nick and Ty Lawson for sharing those informations.
Thanks so much! I've got another one with Ty coming up next week.
cool video.
lawson sounds like a really humble guy.
Julius Del Rosario He's fantastic
Ty Lawson & Goran Dragic are the most underrated pgs in the league.
Absolutely!
Awesome video! Everything about it really. Ty was great imo. Some times players are meant to be players only haha, but Ty was great. Like.
GroveStreetAsylum Thanks! He's a great guy, really skilled
BBALLBREAKDOWN are you 5"10?
Darth Vader I'm 6'0" - Lawson is taller than me
BBALLBREAKDOWN Really? I think he is listed at 5'11'' and usually that's about an inch more than they are w/o shoes
one step closer to the nba coach
Osman Cea ;)
I'd like to see more videos with Ty. This was really well explained and demonstrated. Great stuff!
This dude should've been an all-star. Really underrated pg he'd be one in the east for sure.
jason kirk Absolutely - deserves more love.
i love it how they are willing 2 share their knowledge and not be so arrogant and stuff i know when people are famous ( i live in europe ) they ignore you and everything and herenyou have ty lawson who is willing 2 share and tell you he's in and probably if you see him he would give his autograph easy
much respect for this game and his players #nba
Absolutely! So refreshing to be around a humble guy like Ty.
Amazing content. Ty Lawson is one of the very good point guards in the league and glad you got an interview with him Coach. CP3 and Steve Nash have been doing this for years too. Keep these stuff coming!
Such a humble man.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us Ty.
And he even noted how Steve Nash caught him off guard.
*Respect*
Ty Lawson seems like a cool dude
In my opinion, Ty Lawson is one of the most underrated players in the league.
same here
He's my favorite player in Denver :)
That "put you in jail" move is some next level shit
For sure. Worth practicing...
Im loving this new content
coach nick with dat lockdown d :D
great video. I've known that both steve nash and chris paul like to do this a lot on a ball screen as well, the way they keep their defenders on their hip and back.
It was cool that Lawson did it and Nash did it right back to him.
Not to take away from Ty Lawson because this video is about him and he does a great job with this move. Steve Nash is a great player to watch and learn from because he has a great ability to be able to get to his spots and get separation with moves like this, despite not being athletic (by NBA standards).
banana403 pretty much what you said. steve nash in his prime had many creative and unorthodox ways to finish in the paint.
Thanks for showing Lawson and my Nugs some love
Welcome to the Rockets TY Lawson! Amazing backcourt with Lawson and harden..
Ty is one of my favorite players. More Denver breakdowns!!!
Nice stuff, Coach.
The kind of stuff i love to learn about, and with nba players!
Some great stuff
Thanks.
I Appreciate The Learning Experiences, Ty Law Is So Underrated.
One of my favorite point guards in the NBA. Keep Ballin Out there TY!
We nice vid! It's cool how Ty would take time out to do a vid like this.
Tristin2k Very gracious of him. Stay tuned, we have more! #ImIn
Loving the work coach helping me add little improvments when i play
Awesome. #ImIn
Coach nick on the grind
Yeah, I gotta start playing again! Lolz
chris paul is also particularly good at this. been calling it a "butt seal"
Yes, CP3 is awesome at this! I think I like defender in jail better, lolz
BBALLBREAKDOWN
Brilliant move not only cause it gets you one on one with a big - but because it gives you a 2 on 1 with YOUR big - making a layup option easy if the spoor is well spaced.
+Hoops Movement Joe Johnson is great at this move he has the perfect body for it and hes good at it.
Great job, coach. Each video is better than the previous!
Coach, I didn't think your channel could get any better! Now you're talking to the actual players?! Next level, and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks! Have u seen our on court demos with Austin Rivers, Iman Shumpert, and Derrick Favors?
No... but I know what I'm doing for the rest of the evening! Thanks!
Awesome video, thank you coach nick for sharing!
Hope to see you coaching an NBA team one day Nick! Great video
Thx! #ImIn
The great thing about this break down, is that players at all standards can use this skill. I think the key is being patient and composed when you've got the defender behind you, its real easy to rush a shot/pass/dribble when you have the defender breathing down your back.
Yes! Ty was talking about how players always get in a hurry and rush. Staying under control, balanced, while still being a threat is key. Thanks! #ImIn
Nice work! I like Ty Lawson and the Nuggets. I hope they do well. (except against the Spurs)
Really cool to see Ty in your videos. He seems like a great guy! :)
I love these episodes so much!
Thanks! More with Ty coming up!
I was just about to look for a pick and roll video haha thx coach
Coach Nick never fails to impress with the content he puts up
Thanks! Ty is great.
Wow, Ty seems like a really nice guy!
As always, great video coach! Btw. I think Nash is using this 'jail' trap every second possession... or every second pick at least..
Great video coach. I've become a poor roller in pnr so this might help improve my movement after the pick. But as more of a 2/3 player, I prefer back door cuts and popping out from a pick for a shot. Would be nice to see some videos on movement without the ball.
Good idea. You mean movement out of screen and roll specifically? Did u see our demo on coming off down screens?
BBALLBREAKDOWN Naw but i shall look into it. Nothing specifically about movement just in general to maintain good spacing and improv plays when sets break down. It'll be nice to apply some organized play into pick up games.
Yes. I've been meaning to do an on court demo about playing pick up...
Amazing video, coach! You got a real unsung NBA star in Lawson and a great lesson too! I gotta practice this next time I play!
Thanks so much! Ty is the real deal, needs to be in the conversation...
YOOOO MY BOY TY AND COACH NICK! This is too much...
Best video yet. Great job Coach.
Thank you, sir. More with Ty coming up... #ImIn
Great video coach! Any chance to interview the bulls player on playing under coach thibs?
Loved it, Coach!
love coach nick love the nuggets love lawson
Wow that was awesome. Great video coach!
great stuff, thx coach!
Well broken down, coach as per usual.
is there more material with the Denver squad?
Ghandi Abbas I've got more with TY, so stay tuned!
Denver stand uppppppppp!!!!
Hey coach, could you make a video about different types of screens? And maybe show clips of how they are used and how they are defended?
Awesome segment Coach Nick! Ty is definitely an excellent ball handler, good to pick up new techniques from him. Who will be next?
Smoothest 'I'm in' i've seen in these interview vids haha
I think its kinda funny he never talked about giving the pass to the big. When pg is in jail its more of a 2 on 1 situation not 1v1
its still 2 v 2, still 5 v 5 actually with help D and rotations
Coach, you mentioned "flat" screen. Could you please bring the vid explaining other screen variations and which situations they fit best?
great stuff coach
IBMCREW1 Thanks! #ImIn
Never knew he was so soft spoken. Great simple move that will make your defender mad lol
excellent stuff from coach nick like always
Thats my boy! TAR HEELS WHATS UP!!!!
ill try that move at my next game !! thanx for the tip. may be really helpful
Very nice video Coach! Keep it up!
Thanks. We have more with Ty coming up...
Underrated
Coach, I think you should try talking to Damian Lillard about losing a defender off a screen. I would argue that he's damn-near mastered that.
Great idea. I need to get on that asap
TLaw - professional! Great vid!
DemiRonin Thanks! Ty needs to be in the conversation for top 5 PG
My favourite move on the court!
This is very helpful
wow he's just as tall as me (5'11-6ft) except he dunked on a 7 ft center before
Yup! #ImIn
Is it possible that you can make a video on different types of screens. Flat screen etc.... ?
wow first big name in the nba on bballbreakdown!!!
U didn't see our Jerry West interview?
Awesome video. Ty Lawson is a really cool dude. So are you coach Nick. But Great video.
Thanks, he truly is. Much cooler than me.
hey coach can u make a vid about how to counter a full court trap? thnx
You should ask him about the dribbling drill that he does to get that ankle breaking handles
this was sick coach
Great vid, big fan of ty lawson's game and he's the only person not to make the you in ? Outro weird haha
Haha, THX!
Beautiful.
Great video!
great vid coach
I'm in! great stuff!
Thanks! #ImInToo
more vids like this, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We've got another with Ty coming up soon!
More like "learned it it jail" hahaha, get it? get it? :D I'm so immature..
That's either a racist joke or a jail rape joke, neither of which is funny, and both of which makes you a terrible person.
Bible Believer It was intended as a jail rape joke, due to the position which he takes with the defender behind him. Come on, it's pretty good..
Sorin Vasile Bogdan Given the fact that 2.78 million men (at least) in this country have been victims of sexual assault, and the rape of men by other men is one of the most under-reported crimes in this country because of the humiliation that victims suffer from people like you who think it's funny, I think you'll understand if I say no, it wasn't a good one.
Such an underrated PG, take notes Kyrie!
It's not really a new move, by the way, I've seen this many times expecially in Europe, but also in the US. Anyway it's a great move to do out of the pick and roll, when the 7'0 moves back to protect the area and you have the space to do this. You can set the tempo at your will, but some good defenders can still harass you from behind.
lol I remember my football coach saying that after he came out of UNC, Ty wouldn't last in the league. Boy, was he wrong.
Yikes!
Sweet content coach!
Thanks! Did u see the 2nd one we did with Ty?
I did! :)
In the actual in-game example, Ty didn't really put a fake on Nash. It was the solid pick that caused Nash to be in jail.
True, but that fake is really important and should be used as often as possible...
Always thought you were like 6'3" til this!
He's a legit 6'1" maybe 6'2"
Nice!
I thought we had real stars on this, we asked for Nate Robinson! Lol jk
@Dzastynas not really since the big man is trailing just like your defender
I got a big butt so this move should work pretty well for me. Awesome breakdown Coach!
Use what you have haha
Just saw LeBron and JJ's podcast talking about putting defenders in jail, didn't realize Coach Nick covered this wayback.
kinda out of topic but what do you think about blake griffin's defense
Kinda average. I'd like to see him make more plays.
Coach nick get me Ty's autograph ;)
NICE.
Ty lawson is nice.
dam he was sober here
I think he could be a good fit on the Sixer's in need of a point guard and Denver just drafted mudiay maybe possible . we need a point guard bad
ripper video nick
Don't like the Nuggets (they always seem to torch my Lakers), but he is a fealess BEAST! And he seems like a cool guy
I'm in :D nice move
This is the CP3 signiture
Wonder if he is related to Ty Law?
Wow cool video
Thanks, more with Ty coming up soon. #ImIn
BBALLBREAKDOWN ONCE AND FOR ALL CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US WHAT DOES #LMLN mean? :D
LiqCharles I thought those were "Ls" too but it's actually "Is". ImIn = "I'm In"
Haha, it's a capital I, hence I'm In!
