That's a very cool watch! I'm not just saying this as a Восток fan but that look, friction bezel, and the large crown with aggressively knurled gives it a Восток 420 look. Love all the functions without looking busy. Very subtle yet functional. Awesome!
Really nice looking vintage-inspired piece. I love the thinness of this chrono! Even with the boxed crystal. Amazing! I wish other manufacturers could achieve this as wel.
The best vintage proposition chrono in town right now! I am pointing now to the Datomaster to have a date complication and clear case back. Great review Oleg!
Happy Sunday from Chicago! Amazing watch I’ve only see them in the wild twice and think they are active but for the price is a bit steep. Great review!
This is vintage in all the best types of ways! Not badly priced for what you're getting too. Nice review and well done for giving a lesser known brand a go
Great review! I love NG’s Chronographs and hope to get one this year. I tend to think the price is reasonable compared to other Chronographs with similar movements. I agree $1,500 would be amazing, but even around $1,700 retail is near the low end of the Sellita/ETA/Valjoux Chronograph range. Off the top of my head, only Christopher Ward really competes around $1,500 with these Chrono movements. Even Hamilton with the scale of Swatch Group and ETA behind them don’t set their retail prices below $2k for the Intra-Matic Chronograph.
It's a handsome reissue, for sure! And, less $200 (for any watch), is always great, for sure! I have a Farer mechanical chronograph that uses the same movement and it's a solid accurate movement. It's not as compact as this being 42mm, but the l2l is still relatively short at just a little over 45mm, if I'm not mistaken, and the thickness, or lack there of for a mechanical chronograph, is quite good.. I want to say it isn't much more, of not a little under, 14mm. Anyways, this is a perfect example of how and why modern mechanical chronographs need not be beastly in proportions.
It is a good looking watch. It has something with the red seconds hand. Considering that it has a history as a brand it can be a watch to think about it purchasing it. Well done Oleg 👍👍👍
And they offer more dial and hands selection which is very nice. I think the price is high, especially with a leather vs. steel bracelet. And with the optional steel bracelet, you end up at about $2,000+ pretty high....
I bought the same watch, but with the broad arrow hour hand. But why doesn't your review model have any text down at 6 o'clock? It should say "Chronomaster Aviator Diver", unless it's a prototype. [p.s. - Ball and others continue to use Tritium lume.]
It is nice looking. I like mechanical watches. Mechanical Chronographs can get pricey and service costs are quite high. I used to want an Omega Speedmaster reduced and I think at the time it was less than the watch being reviewed but the service costs some people said were more than the watch was worth. I think the watch is priced a little too much. I am not an expert. I know the affordable ones have seagull movements but it is very old technology.
I bought all three Nivadas. The Chronomaster came defective (and wasI bought all three Nivadas. The Chronomaster came defective (and was not new either). I was supposed to prove this with a video, which I did. Then happened: NOTHING MORE. The "service center" in Hong Kong was said to be unable to send me a back label, so I had to have the supposedly new watch repaired at my own expense. I'm not even completely sure whether the watch also contains the specified movement, because two comparison watches react completely differently. Every buyer is asked by NG to give a positive rating on Trustpilot after the purchase - hence the high rating on trustpilot. But look at the one - and two stars. Same experience ...
Hello Mr Bond, a nice watch but have my eye on the Longines Bigeye. Has your master review it? I can't find it on your site. Don't feel guilty about your snoring, it gives you more personality. I also snore so I have been sent to the DOG HOUSE......
I was ready to pull the triger on an orange boy, til I realized saving just a bit more could get you into really amazing stuff. Like Nomos, solid gold vintage GS's, some older double Seiko/GS signed Spring Drives, or vintage AP's etc. Lots of interesting stuff at $2-3k.
Funny that all reviewers rave on about drilled lugs, not a fan myself - I find them ugly & it's really not hard to change a strap with a good thin springbar tool. Don't like box crystals either, look too vunerable to knocks. Too small, too pricey compared to the opposition. Absolutely should have a display back, that's the only thing that appeals about a Chronograph imho - sold my Hamilton 7750 after I found out the service cost !! Cheers mate 👍🏻
Watch collecting is fun because of this exact reason. What I like you think is a negative. Servicing costs of chronograph movements are significantly higher.
Solid casebacks should never come stock on a watch, ever. They should only be an option. Display casebacks are the way to go. The same with dates. And the price has kept me from pulling the trigger on this one, especially with no option of having a display caseback.
The solid caseback is part of the original design, which is an essential part of this release. And, in any case, at this price point, with this movement, I prefer it.
These are re issues of watches made by Nivada Gretchen in the 1960s, I doubt the people that designed them originally or the people behind the brand now care about Vostok!
It's funny how suddenly every watch channel is now making reviews of this particular brand... Makes you wonder how much money goes to the watches themselves and how much goes to the marketing department. It just shows you how shady the industry has become with the implementation of social media platforms.
The manually wound version of the SW500 is actually quite ugly & having a display caseback would add to the thickness so I would stick to a solid caseback
@@michaelp3010 I agree at $1700 USD that is to much for that watch, many better choices like the Hamilton Intramatic Chronograph or the CW C65 Chronograph.
For this price i buy 2 beautiful watches with metal bracelet and 200 or 300 metres water resistant and seriously? Chrono? Who want this kind of watches ? They try to sell this watch since many years....lol for me never
So you don't like it then because it's a chronograph & costs around $2,000! So what, there are people who can afford it & are prepared to pay a bit more for a nice watch!

Excellent review! Great looking watch. Am considering buying one. Your review was very informative.

Thanks a lot!
This was my first vintage watch 10 years back. Sold it way to early🤦🏼♂️. Wish they make a reissue of Nivadas Wanderer model. It’s the best!
Happy Sunday from Chicago! Amazing watch I’ve only see them in the wild twice and think they are active but for the price is a bit steep. Great review!
Happy Sunday buddy and thanks:)
Good review Oleg. Didn’t you know, black is the new orange!🤣
Wish there was a mecaquartz so i could afford it. Love this style
Save up for it if you can't afford it now
lol
how many winds does it take to fully charge? anyone pls advise.

Thank you sir! Take a look at their website I think there is a red chrono seconds version of this watch:)

It's their "SL" model -- Special Logo.

Thanks man! You bring up a good point. Maybe I'll do a video walking about serving costs for different watches/movements.
I just came to catch a glimpse of the Frenchie! LOL!
I like this one, the aesthetics are very nice. Great vid.
Thank you!
Is this a Brand bought in 2000 by a Mexican Group ?
Hi, love your videos. By any chance, are you Mentor pilot on another UA-cam channel. Love his videos too. Philip
Yup, this is a total beauty!
I knew YOU'd like it!

If you dig vintage Chronographs you must know that those had no display casebacks. I think this is more true to the original thing

@@24hourstime spot on. Be boring if we all liked the same things 😉👍🏻
39mm is pretty small 😢
Nice watch. Almost got there first release, but then for 2k there is a lot of options out there. I said fuck it and paid my mortgage instead! 😆
Who need a mortgage and a house anyways? 😂
If you like the looks of this then search up the Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph.
very nice i do like a lot.... not sure on the price.. wee big high
Quite cute but pricey.

A lot over watch UA-camrs and websites are all of a sudden super excited about this mediocre at best watch. Seems a bit suspect to me.
Because it’s great to hold and wears very well.

Like that squale Corsica. A few weeks back every channel were reviewing it
I guess they reach out to everyone at the same time lol
I'd rather they keep the plain caseback. Display casebacks are ugly and cheap looking to me, even on chronos they feel a bit ali-express-y.
U tweakin bruv.
The manually wound version of the SW500 is actually quite ugly & having a display caseback would add to the thickness so I would stick to a solid caseback
$350 max, $1700+ is laughable.
Just try buy a new 510 movement or a Valjuex and you’ll understand that it has to be over $1000
Yeah the movement is more than double that boy.
