Spoke to the founder of Arken and his buddy helping him out at BWM day a few weeks back, I was blown away by the quality, care and attention to details of the watch as well as box, warrenty card etc. Really cool brand. Their watches were waiting listed, but i managed to walk away with an awesome hat :)
This is a presentation watch channel. It’s definitely top tier in that category. Nico Lenard is top BS and trolling. Wrist Watch Revival is in deep competition with three or four others as top restoration/repair. And there are several other categories I also find interesting and recommend above this channel, but not in its own category. He’s definitely an excellent presenter especially for us common folk who can spend $200,000 on a single watch. (I have two watches worth over $10,000 but a dozen more I actually wear everyday worth $60-$300 and generally prefer them, with my never sell favourite being worth at best $250 new).
What a great collection, there are so many great options in this space, really exciting times. I had been daily wearing a 2019 Submariner until I got my Paul Newman Nivada Chronoking last October, I absolutely love it, its sits perfectly on the wrist at 38mm and the quality is unbelievable for sub £500. It also gets lots of admiration and comments. Great channel, keep releasing the great content.
Fantastic selection of watches with your unique twist Andrew!!! Thanks as always for not simply reproducing the same watches and same opinions as everyone else!
I had ordered that same Zelos swordfish 38 but then came across a Glycine combat sub 36mm on Jomashop for a little bit more and went with that instead. Still want a Zelos in the future but I don’t regret getting the Glycine.
..."and down would only work on a particularly thin albino"... Just when I think your humor and information can't get better, it does! Did I ever think I would actually add another reason to love the weekend by knowing you have another video to enjoy on my Saturday morning? Thank you AGAIN Andrew!
I remember years ago when Elshan's dad told me his son was going into the watch business, creating his own brand, but I never imagined back then how big it was going to become! His dad wears a Zelos too, of course!
Please please please🙏make this a recurring topic! Ive discovered a few absolute gems (BeauBleu...omg) thanks to this video and hope to discover more in the future!
Hey Andrew. I really enjoy your content. I’m learning so much from you. As far as budget brands, I’d like to see more Cadisen, Berny, and Pagani Design watches in your videos. Thanks for everything.
As a new horo enthusiast, I have learned so much from your channel. With all the garbage on television, I would vote that you become the first late night comedian tv host horologist! I must own a Beaubleu this year!
This is a good list of good priced watches of some brands I've never heard of and will be looking into. Thanks. Aragon, which used to be Android, has been around for 3 decades and offers some very well-made watches at great price points.
Hello and thanks for this video. As a microbrands french ... Yes, my english sucks, so what?! ... lover, it has been a true delight to discover this video. And not only because of the two french microbrands into. But also, and at first, because I discovered a brand I never hadn't heard of before, Benjamin James. And in a second time, because of the Radcliffe's new piece of pure madness! Thank you!
Watching your videos feels like having a conversation with that rare dude who is also into watches, warm , friendly and interesting, one day i would visit england to see you in person and a chelsea match:)
Great video as always. I do love Tayeb's productions (my purple Radcliffe Le Dôme is a stunner and it will be hard to wait for the turquoise Inversée). You could have mentionned CW...Nope, you did! I am found of Atowak (the Tarantula) and Boldr (the Safari Vogelkop Superb with its musou black dial). I will get the MD watches Caturix (a fantastic regulator watch) after the kickstarter campain that has been a fantastic success. Oh, and Henry Archer is making superb divers for around 500€ Thanks again Andrew!
I really like that Benjamin James design. It took me a while to figure out what it reminded me of - a Mark Carson Kailua. I haven't thought about that watch for a while and now I want one again.
I learnt to drive in a VW polo harlequin. My instructor saw one at a dealer, and ended up being able to get one. He called his company "harlequin diver training". A dull, yet true, fact.
Very nice offerings and entertaining as always- thank you. I noticed a lack of signed crowns in many examples; anyone here care one way or another? I prefer signed but it’s not a deal breaker.
Great video. have the Nivada Grenchen. Love it! Been trying to decide what Zelos and Baltic models I like best. Lots to close from. Oddly enough I found myself wanting the watermelon after this haha 😂
1:00 I have number 228/300 of the Swordfish Ember 40 shown on the left. It glows like a small nuclear reactor. Zelos truly deserves the first shout out on this video.
The watches are what I come here for. Your use of the English language is what I find most impressive and always stay for haha. You could be talking about carpet samples and I'd likely still remain engaged until the end.
Hi Andrew. I’m Richard and I have an addiction. I love Lorier watches and can’t stop accumulating them. It started with the Neptune diver in black and white 4 years ago, then added a Gemini Nero chronograph last year, and just yesterday, perhaps their best watch to date, a white dial Astra. It’s gorgeous, everyday watch to rival an OP.
I do believe that Studio UnderdOg CEO has a bust of Andrew in his office. Or he should have one because the boost you gave them while working for the previous channel, makes them float on orders for a few years in the future. I am one of those who fell in love and bought two of their watches, just because of your description. And another one I discovered and bought, that should be in the next "affordable but cool watches" list is Maen, with the Manhattan 37. A serious banger for the money. And, oh... Atowak. The third coming from your suggestions, the Ettore Drift on my wrist right now . And naturally I do own an MR01 too. I mean, probably I'm a tad too prone to your soothing voice but I have to admit that once I saw the above mentioned watches, I couldn't agree more with your impressions. Every word, every joke, every vision was simply there, spot on. Never regretted any of this purchases and so... thank you for making me discover the "cheap" fun in collecting watches. Next will probably be the upside down thingy featured on this one...
I really like the Benjamin James watch. Some great designs here for reasonable money. Have you reviewed Marloe watches? Great designs with good prices.
I've been getting several adverts for Méraud watches recently. Particularly their Bonaire model, which reminds me of timepieces from a couple of more expensive makers.
Who cares about the watches, the moderation goes down as some of the best dialogue that is more fun to listen to, letting you forget time itself. Thank you!
Cleverly written as usual 👏. Love that Beaubleu, but I have a hard enough time reading the time on a Seiko Turtle, so those Ring-style hands would make my brain explode...but who cares what time it is anyway? As long as my watch looks cool
Wearing my Baltic aquascaphe now and still the big love. Every release they offer is unique, simple but in a positive way with crazy attention to detail.. love this Brand and wish them all the best! You could also test the Chinese watches, there are not only replicas 😅. I own a Seagull pilot horizon, it’s a pleasure to wear. Same quality as an entry level Swiss watch, curiously with one of the best straps I ever had on a watch. Lobinni makes great and (sometimes just a bit inspired) but stunning dress watches. Merkur is also a bit inspired but have great models! Good luck if you start investigating in the Chinese watches world, it’s a journey😅
I just got an UNDONE Aquadeep. grade II titanium case, double dome sapphire crystal, 500M water resistance. All for under $400US. A lot of watch for the money. I am enjoying it very much.
Epic as ever. I know JOMW and many others have trodden the well worn Chinese watch path but I imagine there will be a lot of interest in your opinion of these mostly derivative but often seriously well made watches
My first mechanical watch that i bought this year is the Orient "Baby Neptune" RA-AC0K03L10B. I think its a real bargain. Automatic diver, inhouse movement with hacking and handwinding, sapphire crystal, screw down case back, screw down crown at 4, crown guards, seamless date window at 4, pepsi tactile uni-directional bezel, 200m WR, with really amazing lume. I mean really this thing glows. 350€ I think its a real bargain. And an amazing everyday watch. Did end up changing its bracelet tho
Love the videos, any chance in the future you could do a video celebrating British watches. Hardly ever see anybody mention the Marloe Watch Company. Lovely backstory also regarding the co-founders Oliver and Gordon. Carry on the cracking work, all the best for the future.
Ive got the swordfish field - I bought it while drunk. I do like it though, most of the time. Sometimes I look at it and think: "yeah - nice". Other times I think : "mmm... bit odd." Solid watch though. Good finishing for the money and original design.

If the author of the book Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy had a watch channel it would sound exactly like this
Although I’m not saying they’re the same person, nobody saw them together in the same room ;)
And since no digital watches were mentioned here, that sort of checks out.

Or possibly Terry Pratchett
That is a top tier compliment, thank you!
Great video as always. Fun fact about Zelos is that Elshan is in the process of moving certain pieces in basic colors to regular production

You’re a class act Andrew, keep doing what you’re doing.
Your writing in this episode is superb. Beautifully crafted similies and next-level niche references. And yes I was doing that too when I was 15... 😂
About time someone showed Beaubleu some love. Still can't spell it right, though 😂Another great video my dear Mr. Talking Hands!
Carefully curated selection of wonderful watches, described in terms sublime and sometimes surreal. Superb, I chortled.
A most-amazing pick of fabulous budget (well, at least well under $1k) watches…and well-deserved congrats for cresting 200k members.
Excellent video. That Zelos Stonefish is a work of art. I think I need to have one.

fun video as usual. I wasn't interested in Zelos until the smaller (37mm) Nova 2 showed up. My aventurine and guilloché-dialed version is gorgeous.
I learnt to drive in a VW polo harlequin. My instructor saw one at a dealer, and ended up being able to get one. He called his company "harlequin diver training". A dull, yet true, fact.
Unless they were using it as a boat and using it for teaching aspiring sub-aquarists, but I'm guessing that is just a typo.
Damn, Andrew. Nice Jeff Buckley reference! “Grace” was such a legendary album.
