@@becket4373 no from the recent apes trilogy. Caesar’s wife and oldest son Blue Eyes, were killed in War for the planet of the apes. Caesar is survived by his youngest son, Cornelius who is leading this film

Actually this film skips generations it’s actually one of his great grandsons named Noah unfortunately Cornelius will not be shown in this film.

@nel-sunstudio6109 I heard the original novel was written by a Frenchman. In the novel, the astronauts were French, not American, and in the iconic end scene, instead of finding the destroyed Statue of Liberty, they find the destroyed Eiffel Tower.
Man, I love all the planet of the apes series !!! Hope this one is just as great as the others 💪🏼

I grew up watching this movies and I LOVE every time they release a new one. I LOVE how the new ones rhyme with the old ones and make little references that not everyone gets.

The Rise of the Planet of the Apes trilogy was way too good but I always thought it was overlooked. Nice to see a fourth one.

Too bad that Andy Serkis' Caesar is no longer in the film series😔. His journey was a joy to watch.
Also, the scenery in the trailer is giving me serious Avatar/The Last of Us vibes🤔

Andy Serkis is one of the greatest actors in film history. What a legend.
The original took place in a post-apocalyptic nuclear war earth, the reboot takes place in a viral outbreak apocalypse which leaves the earth lush. Also, I'm going to miss Andy Serkis's performance.

It's meant to evoke the same imagery as Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
I’m so hyped for this movie! Tho it seems some apes have learned nothing from the humans and are beginning to act just like they did after becoming the dominant species. I always admired how Caesar never wanted to kill the humans in this trilogy, rather just break free from their rule. I never saw it as him being weak, but as Caesar actually being the bigger individual. Caesar was a great leader because he kept his eye on the actual goal, which was for his kind to be free from human rule. He only killed when it was absolutely necessary and he always did his best to not make things personal. In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes when Caesar and the other apes rencountered the humans he even tried to make peace with them rather than go to war, because he knew how devastating war could be for both the humans and the apes. A wise leader always searches for peace if it is possible rather than solve problems through violence. Caesar didn’t force the other apes to hate the human race, he didn’t ask them to kill every single one of them (like Koba), he just thought about what was best for his kind. Caesar knew in order to be a higher species you must be better than the ones who abused you. Hopefully this knew character (who I believe is named Noa) will take after him and follow in his footsteps.
Almost like that's been shown to be the point in these movies.
There is good and bad in all beings, and suddenly becoming sentient isn't going to suddenly make everyone good. anything with the ability to willingly choose to do something is going to have that temptation to do evil for their own benefit.
There are bad apes, just as there are bad humans.
Caesar knew apes weren’t ready to go to war with humans, Nor did he want to. He still knew humans were more tech advanced and it would be suicide to try

Love having to wait for these movies it makes everyone feel like we're seeing the big important moment in the story and it means they have time to work on it.
I’m so happy that we’re gonna get to see the aftermath of when Apes have taken over the planet. The irony is that it seems now humans have become like the ape’s life stock just like the Colonel said would happen in the third movie. It’s also a throwback to the original movie from 1968.
This movie looks awesome, I was a massive fan of Rise,Dawn and War so I’m excited asf for Kingdom

If you watched all the original you’ll know that Caesar may die but lives on in memory to some apes... it’s now the rule of Cornelius who is more important than Caesar in the long run 👀

For those who don’t know this is Noa not Cornelius. This is many years after War and he could possibly be a descendant of Caesar.
It’s Cornelius, he’s listed as such in the official casting and description of the story. Maybe they will pull a “it’s not his son Cornelius but his great great grandson also named Cornelius” but you are wrong.

So if i'm reading this right, the PotA reboot trilogy was a prequel and this is basically the reboot of the original movie?
I am looking forward to this one. I was expecting the arrival of the Icarus, but perhaps not.
It started as a prequel to the original, just offset by a few decades. If they make the Cornelius from the other prequels the same character as the original Cornelius, that'll offset by several millenia. I hope they don't plan in overwriting the original completely, or if they do, explain the timeline change somehow.
The original story that predated the movie in the 60’s had them being much more technologically advanced by the time the encounter non primitive humans
Caesar was phenomenal, hopefully Cornelius can be a great leader as well.

@@internetdude7190 Yeah same, I was really hoping it would continue with Cornelius and following him stepping into Caesar’s shoes as leader, but I don’t have any complaints about the direction of this film. Plus I’m excited to learn some of the lore bits of what happened between the last film and this one with Cornelius and the apes.
