I didn't know you're supposed to sneak when catching bugs. Here I am, dashing up to them, swinging wildly with my net and hoping I was fast enough to score a catch 😂
I started playing coral island yesterday following its release on console and im loving it so far. Been watching all your tips and tricks to help get started. I hope they’ve been helpful!! I haven’t caught those either, but I did manage to finally catch my first legendary fish yesterday using the upgraded rod, the perks I mentioned in the video and some large bait to narrow it down on the specific fish size I needed. I think it bit on my third cast and wow I fought for my life to catch it. Others though have still been evading me!! If it takes too many casts I just try again another day
That silver koi is so hard, I've caught plenty of normal and copper ones but I haven't managed a silver or higher yet. Also you can buy the old bait from the beach shack too
it took me a long time to get one too but i found the medium bait you craft did the trick took alot of days of going first thing in the morning in the entrance to the cavern though. you'll get it.

I have successfully used the dash method of bug catching when hunting those very shy, swift and rare bugs. Especially useful when I couldn't sneak close enough to net them before they became aware and fled... Also, I have noted that the angle of the net can be a little wonky, I've gotten very close to a bug, without the green indicator flashing. If that happens, I turn slowly back and forth to see if I just don't have the angle right, and sometimes it helps. New bait? Sweet! Thank you for this! I had to figure out a lot of this the hard way!
I definitely think they will be refining the bug catching mechanics in updates to come! Even though this video is a little overdue, I hope you still found it helpful! Thank you!!
There are rice fields? Where? Thank you for this video! I was just commiserating on reddit about not being able to catch butterflies despite having the best net. Your tips are helpful, can't wait to put them into practice!
I tried the fishing method you showed, but I still only get no quality fish and when it's a stronger fish my line breaks instantly from not fighting back. I'm so confused and need help!
Soo I'm doing well with bug catching year 1 summer 14 but fishing.. I've caught 3 fish and trash and flyers that's all. And I'm wondering if getting the copper pole will even help?
one thing i need to know is how to not miss events bcs yes they tell me in the morning but i cant go there right away so i start something n then i miss the Cherry Blossom Potluck for 2nd time :,) i would love some alert thet it started at 9 so i can get moving n not get there at 15 when it ended at 14 pls tell me im not the problem n this happens to other ppl too lol xd
It definitely happens to other people 😂 You get the event notification in the morning and then think "Okay, I'm going to go do this thing real quick," and then you get absorbed in what you're doing and completely forget 😂
I'm guessing your channel has gotten a few more visits recently as Coral Island is part of the monthly bundle ;) us newcommers are going to need to suck up as much info as possible, but it is hard to know how much of the info turns out to be outdated or even obsolete.

@@missdire WTF, compared to stardew beginner fishing is SO much difficult in coral. Im in year 1 sumer 13 and ive catched like 4 or 5 fish in coral. In stardew, 1st raining day, i make lots of money by fishing.

if you stand in the farm animals pen, you can fish in the rice fields

I actually like the fishing mechanic more than Stardew .. It's more like managing tension from real fishing; Quite challenging but fun.

It happens to other people... but ur still the problem.
Cmon theres a HUGE flyer in the corner reminding u that theres an event going on.
So if I use medium bait will that increase my chances to catch the fish such as rainbow fish

yesss there's much more detail in the different areas that what I thought in the beginning. I was expecting: River, Ocean, Lake, Pond LOL
