Thank you! As a 63 year old American, I pine for these times. Thank you for taking the time to share these. History of a time, culture and era to never be seen again. 😢
That’s the England I left to immigrate to America. There was good and bad. I can’t say I pine for that era , I have good memories but life was difficult for many.
Brings back such great memories of times gone by. I loved these plays at the time and so good to see them again. Thank you for managing to upload for us all to enjoy ❤
The quality of writing and characterisation by the actors and the perception of the human condition within our culture is quite something..and what do we have now ? an avalanche of [ to quote Leonard Cohen] bubblegum but it's ok it's digital- haven't we progressed..
British Middle Class *Before* wife/mother is murdered: Shall we discuss poetry and local roads? British Middle Class *After* wife/mother is murdered: Shall we discuss poetry and local roads?
Wide ties, big hair, no seatbelts, dreary decor, padded headboards, blankets, free flowing alcohol, lots and lots of white faces and crucially no street cameras, nor police interview tapes: Britain in the 1970's. I remember it well.

Richard Pasco looks much younger than he did in the Beeb As You Like It, which was filmed well before this. I'm always amused seeing film of the roads in the UK pre the mid 80s. Even in 83 in London, there were no problems parking. Most people couldn't afford cars. And I've ALWAYS wondered why exactly English - I do mean English, not British - "housewives" wore those god awful vest/waistcoat things. What bastard clothes designers and buyers inflicted those things on them. Well, they probably all voted for Thatcher, so who cares. They even deserved all those bleeding oatmeal hues.
Ah, the 1970s, when five and a half grand was a good annual salary! How puny the houses and cars look now. Richard Pasco was a fine actor, but I didn’t much care for the play; the story didn’t amount to much and the husband was a lying creep.
A friendship say tukesabd recommend this sttutude to say a famiky if friendship. How to manage this . Say hrr daughter is in a faniky new begining. This means mother euse needs yo be awaje. A farther is less here but yo stop the hell bine density is ger uneilling to explain her thoughts to the male is indicating bone density he lacks this that stops nature

Glad you enjoyed it This 56 year-old American is in agreement. Although a lot of the episodes are unwatchable.
@@corrinebayraktaroglu5695Yes, I agree , every generation brings its positive and negative changes… nothing stands still
Difficult for many ? Just like now. @@corrinebayraktaroglu5695
In an ironic way knowing now and then..I would say that less was more..
Another outstanding upload, thank you. I think the quality of British drama in that era was very high.
Fantastic! Lovely to see the vastly underrated Richard Pasco! Enjoyed every minute!
Splendid stuff. Thank you for all your sterling efforts in uploading all this wonderful entertainment.
I could not have put it better my self Barry.
Delighted that you are uploading such gems of a much missed era. British drama of the highest quality.
Wonderful. The British films never fail me. Thank you!
"The pleasures of middle age tend to be rather squalid." Excellent play, thanks for updating!

Thank you for sharing. I have to second what Barry Crump wrote. Excellent work unearthing and sharing quality productions from yesteryear.
Forget this story. This was real life before we have what we have now and it was MUCH better and we could be ourselves.
RIP Barbara Leigh-Hunt.
She was married to the leading man Richard Pasco 1967-2014, on his death. I guess there together again now.🙏😘

That was worth persevering with after a slow-ish start.
Excellent. A nuanced play, well acted. I even felt sorry for the husband at the end, although I was sorry for everyone in the family.
These are brilliant

Listen to that whining gearbox in the vauxhall
Propelled by 1256 cc of tappety goodness and seemingly living on in Chevettes of later years.

The false alibi secured with so little fuss was a little implausible.
