There should have been more episodes. I absolutely love this series despite its very short run time, I really hope the same studio comes back to this project and bring life back to this fandom😢😢
Yup. Still one of my all-time favorites. I especially loved the textured canvas. They did something similar with Hakaba Kitarou, but it's much more artsy in Mononoke.
...just thought I would mention....kusuriuri is now a character you can get in a mobile game (voiced and everything) for a crossover event...just thought is mention that (its only a limited time tho..but I thought I'd mention it)...the game is : Onmyoji

The Ito Junji Collection is one, if you've ever read one of his manga then you get the idea as this is an animated adaptation of several of his manga. Hell Girl is another, it's more set in modern times, but the pace is very calm and the general plot is if one person has grievance with another they can contact Hell Girl to send that person to hell immediately, but the process is the one asking will also be doomed to hell when they die. It does have pieces of traditional Japanese folklore threaded through, though. Kyougaku Natsuhiko: Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari is a third. I've personally never seen this one, but the plot in general is a series of tales about the tragic ends of malicious people, similar to Hell Girl I suppose. Hope this helps! Ah, one more thing though. I watch anime for free on www.thewatchcartoononline.tv/search It's good quality, has a good list of both dub and sub while being free, no subscriptions necessary if you struggle finding a good site.

@@yamiyomizuki yeah they had to recast due to bad stuff that the original VA (Takahiro Sakurai) of Kusuriuri did, which is cheating on his wife (for more than 10 years) with 2 women that caused the women to be hospitalized due to shock from finding out that they are being used as his mistresses, hence the movie staff decided to drop Sakurai out of the project because of the movie’s depiction of Kusuriuri helping women who are suffering
