I grew up in Los Angeles in the 1950s and 1960s and listened to every Dodger game. Vin was my idol and hero. I am just crying like a baby today feeling the love I have for him. He made millions and millions and millions happy. Thank you Mr. Scully.

@M Soccer sucks. Don't run the gibberish on a video regarding the death of an American Icon. Have some class.

Vin is one of those special individuals who touched so many people so much that when he passed, we all felt as though we lost a close friend.

I get chills when i hear Vins scully singing a baseball "classic"
As scully sang .. remembering another broacaster legend's passing of the Cubs harry caray
😃 Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack, I don't care if I never get back,

Vin was my favorite since I was ten years old in Brooklyn. He was amazing and was the Dodgers voice. We loved that he was a lip reader and would tell what was being said during screaming matches between umpire vs manager. “Fertilizer!” Instead of “B_____it!”. When the Dodgers retreated to the left coast, the only times I saw Vin afterward was when he did World Series games and I enjoyed his work. Especially when my newer favorites, the Mets, played in 1986 series. He was a gem.

Best experience of Vin is being at any dodger game with a elder saying shush just listen! But grandpa, it’s 15 seconds behind! You’re missing the point! Hahaha! Forever memories Thanks Vin!

He didn’t know who I was, but I feel like I lost a friend. Vin Scully has been a part of my life since I was a little boy. I used to sneak a transistor radio into church and hide it in my pocket and bring the earpiece up through the back of my coat so I could listen to dodger games. Every night during the season I would listen to Vin Scully on my little clock radio that sat by my bed. His voice not only painted a picture of the game for me, but he took me to exotic cities like New York, Atlanta, and Montreal. He literally narrated my dreams. I can remember going to Dodger Stadium and you could literally hear his broadcast throughout the crowd as people brought radios to the stadium and had them on without the use of headphones so that everyone can hear. I remember listening to Vin while swimming in the pool, laying on a towel in the sand at the beach and cruising around in my 1970 Barracuda. Vinny is gone, but the memories will always be with me, and the voice can be revisited with a touch of my phone. Is he the most beloved man in sports? I can’t think of anyone I admire and appreciate more! ❤🎙

I vividly recall that surreal sound of Vin reverberating from thousands of tinny transistor radios. Thank goodness my first trip to Dodger Stadium took place while transistors were still in wide use; just a few years later as Walkmans and other types of radios replaced transistors this audio phenomenon was no more.

During a Dodger game at Dodger Stadium one night when much was not going on. Vin Scully was looking around and found it was home plate umpire’s birthday that day. Vin Sully said let’s sing “happy birthday” at the end of the inning. Sure enough the fans at Dodger Stadium got up and sang “happy birthday”. Boy, that umpire was surprise! I think the umpire was Al Barich.

Did Vin ever go up with Bob Tur and do play-by-play on a car chase? I'd love to see that even if AI generated.
