With sex crimes against minors, which used to not be taken seriously at all, it usually takes a determined individual to petition the legislature for changes in the laws.
Well, for starters, Kristi Noem is in charge of things. Same broad who shot a dog....do you honestly think she cares anything for the vulnerable? Kids, dogs, the elderly.....they're all at her mercy there.
My own father sexually abused me from about 3 to 12 or 13. Also my younger sister and any girl he could get his hands on. He never had to pay any price for it. Im 68 now and it still haunts me. It scars you for life You just learn how to be a survivor. Sadly, it is SO prevalent and SO sick in all societies and cultures!

I would doubt that he is allowed to be around children. Sometimes there are old laws on the books that allow it if you’re married or something, but otherwise I would think the truth is he probably just didn’t admit he was around the new little girl. Idk
Because apparently the only thing involved here was "oral" sex. There was never any mention of actual sex or anything forceful, so that's why his sentence was likely shortened.

My father was a child molestor and ruined the lives of dozens of young girls, some as young as three years old. This was back in the 40's thru the 60's. He finally got caught but was a big shot in that town and was sentenced to visit a priest once a week for a year. There is no justice in this sick country.
What a brave woman. Imagine the strength it took to share this story with the world.

Now 69 y.o. and have lived with the secret until I was 65 before spilling the beans. My family was destroyed and I lost my mom since she picked him over me. So be it. I have the weight off my shoulders and my life goes on.
Why would the reporter ask her, "Do you think it's your fault?" What a hurtful and rude question. Very insensitive.
The system is truly broken. There are probably hundreds if not thousands of kids in the same position, never getting their freedom from child abuse.
Kudos to you for speaking out. Absolutely none of this was your fault or responsibility. I hope this will give courage to others who are affected.
I was 7 when my abuser first targeted me. He was 15 and his mother knew what he was doing she walked in on it while babysitting me. Instead of doing something about it by doing the right thing she pulled me to the side cleaned me up and convinced me I would get in trouble that I would be taken away from my family. After a year of abuse he got caught messing around with another neighborhood girl and was moved away. I lived with the shame and guilt my whole life. He took the cowards way out and offed himself.

Depends on her thought process about that if she was not wanting to see his face anymore on one hand it is a victory that she does not have to see and deal with him anymore. which she should not have to be traumatized and forced to see him at her place of work anymore. It is up to the law and child protection to deal with protecting that other child. That is the disgraceful part as you would think as a registered sex offender that they would not allow that. What kind of mother would remain with him after hearing what he did to his child would remain with him and go along with simply removing her child from that daycare. Hopefully that has opened her eyes and she gets out of the relationship. Hopefully, something good for that little girl comes out of it with her speaking up.

She seemed relieved that the 4 year old was removed from the daycare. So, now the 4 year old is probably home with dad more, probably getting abused just like she was. Wouldn't she have been safer at the daycare? Most people who were abused by their parent would be really worried about their half sibling or step sibling or whatever the 4 yr old is, or even a child of no relation in the care of that monster.

My uncle put his daughter up to invite me to stay the night at his house while his wife was at work. I was thirteen. It was dark in there. He had us sit on him like a train. We had to take turns in front to kiss his face. He tried to force his tongue in my mouth. I wouldn't even let a stranger do that to me. One time, he asked if I will have sex with him after telling me what a condom is used for. He said I'm lucky, I'm his niece. Or I'd have to get pregnant by him. 🤮💯

I had a moment of epiphany when I told her 2 months ago I'd be driving my own car to church and no longer riding with her because she was habitually late.
Her response was "there might be something wrong with you".
When she said this, something in me snapped. I thought to myself, "of course there is something wrong with me. I have major depressive disorder, Bipolar II, complex PTSD because your husband sexually abused me from ages 4-12 and you didn't stop him".
I thought to myself, she's calling people at church evil, and sneaky every Sunday on our way home from church. People whose names are doesn't even know, but she didn't know her husband was molesting me from age 4-12"?
She knows exactly why I've gone no contact, yet her narcissism and inability to acknowledge the horror of what I went through won't allow her to pick up a phone and say I'm sorry, so that I can start healing
I feel so sorry for you and you did the right thing, don't give narcissists attention....i understand you too because same happened with me. From since when I was 3-12 years old. It stopped when I told my dad that i started getting my periods. I opened up about this to my brother and mother at 14 and her reaction was "we can't do anything now, don't share this with anyone" and she basically forgot everything and never spoke anything about it later. I'm now 20 and sadly I still stay with my family including my dad but i don't talk with him that much, and after i graduated I'm never going to look back and break contact with everyone and start a new life.

My father sexually abused me I was 18 month’s when my mother found out my Uncle caught in a position that you don’t see a toddler and father in I blocked it out somehow until I got older either ( 10 or 11 ) if the dream’s I’m having are what really happened it’s disgusting he didn’t go to jail and he married a lady who had two boy’s my mother told me that he was fired from his job because he wouldn’t leave the men alone hopefully he didn’t do anything to her boy’s he also had two kids with his wife a boy and a girl I’m hoping the same thing for them. I was born in 1958 it could have started in 1959 but it was in the early 60’s before 1964 that my mother found out he’s dead now from cancer 👍🏻👍🏻🎊🎉

I know exactly what you went through, I had a different relative. I am sorry this happened to you. To this day I kept quiet too, no one would believe me. When this happens, as a child, your ruined for life and nightmares don't stop. I went thru many hospitalizations', meds, therapy and prayers. I still fight thoughts of suicide even at the age at 72! Pure lifetime torment!
