This is my favorite scene from this movie. It's such a perfect special moment. Very innocent, real, and true. You can feel the connection between the characters. Its very beautiful.
This scene remains my favorite scene of the movie. I was fourteen when it came out and everytime I passed a fishtank I would look at it the same way, basically hoping my true love would be on the otherside. Stupid, I know.
his eyebrow raise at 1:12 makes my heart swoop, such a subtle hint that he's attracted to her. god he was a god, gorgeous and an amazing actor. ahh i love him
Ugh I still remember more than 13 years ago, how when I first saw this scene and saw Leo through the fishtank, my heart stopped. I felt like I was Juliet. One of the best romantic scenes ever made.
i love this scene where they are on opposite sides of the fish tank and it's love at first sight and looking at each other, it's one of the most beautiful scenes ever in movie history
Watched this movie for the first time yesterday and when I saw her staring at him at 1:06 she literally took my breath away with the way her eyes locked onto him I almost fell in love at first site there
Little tidbit, so that you know how great these actors are. Every time the shot is focused on their faces, they are doing it alone. There's no one on the other side. Amazing huh?
Because, this is more modernized and, well romantic. Juliet doesn't look like a 13 year old girl, she looks like a woman. This also implements a lot of comic relief, which is entertaining. It's more fast paced to keep you hooked to the action. I personally like this version better also.
The mother and nanny screaming Juliet was not a great change from the original play... and the comic relief has always existed in the play. This version just makes it really obvious to those not use to the old english.
what year were you? back when i was in high school i was in 9th grade in 2000 when saw this and everyone in my class were so happy to see the 1996 version and not the 1968 version. well pretty much everyone in my class saw the 1996 version and were all in 6th grade back then before high school.
whatever movie LeonardoDiCaprio play in, that movie is going to be a hit, somebody name a movie that Leanardo DiCaprio played in that sucked completely? I bet it's gone be rare to think of, this dude is a legend.
This is the scene that, to this day, makes me stop at every fishtank hoping that my one true love will see me from the other end. It would be even better if they knew the same scene and we fell for each other on that basis alone. Cheesy, I know.
He is beautiful! I would love to see the Oscars in like 2030 give Leo some lifetime achievement award for his acting and have them just play clips from his amazing movies... What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Basketball Diaries, R+J, Titanic, The Iron Mask, The Departed, Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, Gangs of NY, Blood Diamond, Revolutionary Road.....not to mention what's probably to come. He was born to do this.
I'm not going to pretend this movie is perfect, because it isn't. But it is one of the most cinematically unique. It's more or less anti-Sin City. There are so many colors everywhere. In every scene. And several scenes, including this one, are stunningly beautiful.
@guitar19904 Act 1 scene 5 at the capulet banquet. it happens basically the same since they use the most of the lines from the play for the script of the movie.

1:02 me too.

My favourite toooooo.
Everytime
He shouldn’t have been allowed to age! He was the most beautiful man alive 😩😭
Narcissism he still looks good for his own age
Indeed💔
He still is
@Hol M people tend to let go of themselves as they age, marry with kids... Neglect exercising and eating right
He still is
his eyebrow raise at 1:12 makes my heart swoop, such a subtle hint that he's attracted to her. god he was a god, gorgeous and an amazing actor. ahh i love him
1:10 there you go.
This song is the cherry on top of this scene. So sweet and romantic
Romeo+Juliet in this movie have a lot of water-related imagery/symbolism... fishtank scene, rain, the beach, swimming pool kiss...
I can't believe after all this years this scene still makes me feel in love...
When Leo put his nose on the fish tank I DIED AT THE CUTENESS!!
So...how were you able to post this comment?...
Lol

Claire Danes was so well casted. She fits this role as Julia perfectly. So innocent, so pure, so divine.

I would fall in love with Romeo at first sight if it was Leonardo DiCaprio too
Can I just talk about how damn good looking Romeo/ Leonardo was?!

I find it so adorable how they don't find it the least awkward, they just sort of keep staring at each other asdfghjk
The music is so calming, I don't know if it's just me but I love it.
The fish got insignificant after he saw her eye.
1:17 Her secret smile is so sweet. I like this movie, it is a well done work.

i love this scene where they are on opposite sides of the fish tank and it's love at first sight and looking at each other, it's one of the most beautiful scenes ever in movie history
yeah,it´s one of the best scenes in this movie and the song makes it even more intense!
The eyebrow thing he does at 1:12 is one of my favs in this scene- so much expression.
I like this relatively modern interpretation because it keeps the original dialogue and this scene is so pretty : D
This is one of the most beautiful scenes ever shot in movie history.
I think this scene is one of the cinema's best scene....EVER. Pure and beautiful.
that's an amazing way to meet someone.

This movie soundtrack though 🔥

this is such a wonderful moment
that 90's show brought me here
Watched this movie for the first time yesterday and when I saw her staring at him at 1:06 she literally took my breath away with the way her eyes locked onto him I almost fell in love at first site there
I wonder what the water imagery was so supposed to mean. So many of this movie’s pivotal moments take place near, through or around water.
One of my favorite remakes ever an I love this scene ugh the 90s.
Little tidbit, so that you know how great these actors are. Every time the shot is focused on their faces, they are doing it alone. There's no one on the other side. Amazing huh?
Can't think of anyone more gorgeous!!!
this is just perfect.

whatever movie LeonardoDiCaprio play in, that movie is going to be a hit, somebody name a movie that Leanardo DiCaprio played in that sucked completely? I bet it's gone be rare to think of, this dude is a legend.
He sucked in Gangs of New York.
This is the scene that, to this day, makes me stop at every fishtank hoping that my one true love will see me from the other end. It would be even better if they knew the same scene and we fell for each other on that basis alone.
Cheesy, I know.
la escena más bella de toda la historia de las películas de amor...
He is beautiful!
I would love to see the Oscars in like 2030 give Leo some lifetime achievement award for his acting and have them just play clips from his amazing movies...

One of the best scenes in movie history.
Beautiful scene.
Claire Danes looks so stunning at 1:06.
My heart just stopped, from seeing this scene!!! Great movie
Damn I forgot just how good-looking he was...
The way he drops his mask in the beginning of the scene couldn’t be any more symbolic.
Leonardo Dicaprio... What a man of Perfection
i like the way they deliver there lines. so real yet so shakespeare. i just hope they retained the balcony scene as it is.

Definaly my Favorite scene too, best song ever (:
@guitar19904 Act 1 scene 5 at the capulet banquet. it happens basically the same since they use the most of the lines from the play for the script of the movie.
