    Good work. It's good practice to tie and anchor the legs to keep from swinging. Helps a lot.

    Im going to try this. Do you have a video on how to preserve and mount the wings? Thxs

      Same process bother ! Just skin out or cut the section you want, get as much meat off as you can, rinse, blow dry, and pin with borax 👌🏽

    How long do you let it hang after you soak it before you start blow drying it?

    • @MojobuckProductions

      Just maybe 10/15 min I like to let it hang to drop dry as much as possible. The less water when you start the better

      Thanks! I did my first cape this season and didn’t know to soak and wash it. But I’m fixing to do one for my dad and I’m gonna try it. I’m sure it’ll make a huge difference. Thanks for the video

      @@mattlove2881 means a lot !!! Yes sir it makes a world of difference, foxes all the messes up feathers, puts the shine back in it, takes all of the dust and grime out. Super worth it, even if it’s just a fan I rinse em or even a wing. Thanks again for watching man !!! Means a ton !!! Check out the podcast ! “The part time hunter”

      That was excellent !!! I truly hope you make a video of the bondo part of it. I really would like to see that please.

      Or at least show a picture of the bondo and the purpose it is serving. How much bondo is actually applied.

    Awesome video showing the whole process! Haven’t done a cape yet myself, but thinking about it this year. Do you remove the oil gland from the base of the tail that sits between the tail feathers and the next row? That spot never seems to dry fully with salt or borax if left in, at least in my experience with the 5 or 6 fans I’ve done

      Thanks man !!! Means a lot ! And yes I take a sharp paid or scissors and cut out that annoying bone attached to the base of the tail fan on the flesh side, then I cut all meat and fat off as much as I can. After the borax I then coat the back with bondo so I can attach my paracord loop for mounting super clean and easy !

    Did you clean any of the fat off?

    • @MojobuckProductions
      @MojobuckProductions  10 місяців тому

      Yes sir just take some sharp scissors or knife and trim the back side base of the tail fan as much as possible before rinsing / blow drying. What ever tiny bit you don’t get the borax will cure out then the bondo will seal up 👌🏽
