Awesome vid. I'm South African, but my mother is from Zim. She grew up in Bulawayo. We used to visit her side of the family in Bulawayo almost every Christmas and I have fond memories of catching big bream, bass and tigerfish there. Sadly most of her side of the family has emigrated. Zim is a beautiful country with awesome freshwater fishing to be had. I miss it
Awesome man, I’m similar to you! My mom is South African and dad Zimbabwean, but normally we go to SA for Christmas to the beach and a bit of salt water fishing! Zim is a great destination and we are so lucky, thanks so much for your support!
Nice vid guys You live a lot of people’s dream Only one thing We fish the Kavango river a lot and we are always wary of crocodiles I know there in your dam is crocs Just a hint.... Don’t stay too long on one spot Crocodiles get a target lock on something on the bank and then stalk it’s prey The moment you move away the crocodile abandon it’s plan Also when you catch a couple of fish in the same spot....the sound and vibration call them closer Just concerned about you guys safety!! But anyway- I love your videos!! Keep it up
Thanks so much for the concerns! There are not many huge crocs in the dam (it’s very rare to see them in that particular section of the dam) sadly there is not much bank access that is in a safe area from Elephants and Buffalo, that’s why we stay in one spot. But we are always looking out for them!
Awesome catches guys, seems that dam has got monsters. simple knots , that do get the job done though. i would have a hard time releasing those fish kkkkk
Adnaan Mussa13 we got half a drum put some soil into it, then continually put compost such as kitchen waste, but don’t put meat or lemons or oranges in. Then add some worms.
I just caught my First Mozambique tilapia/Blue Kurper in Durban, South Africa today! I used a 1 inch yellow curltail grub... I got some footage as well...

Enjoyed your informative clip. Loved the call of the fish eagle.
Nice vid, it reminds me of my childhood. Use a dropper loop on your padanoster rig, much better than that umbuya knot.
Club Zambezi thanks so much, will do that!
i really enjoy watching your vids guys, looking forward to catching my first fish.
Thanks! Good luck!

@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors HEY , where's this dam at? is it open for public fishing?
Sorry it’s on a private game Reserve, but if you book into Pamushana lodge you can stay there
They are delicious to eat fried in batter. My favourite fish.☺️
hi guys a, fellow Zim good to see you guys fish interesting to know what dam are you guys fishing from?
Hi. Just wanted to ask on how you made your worm farm
Adnaan Mussa13 we got half a drum put some soil into it, then continually put compost such as kitchen waste, but don’t put meat or lemons or oranges in. Then add some worms.
Thanks
@@adnaans_fishing_adventures are u from Zambia
Hey do u cover ur worm farm with something or u keep it open
Just with some news paper
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors is it fine if you cover it with some roofing sheet
WELL DONE BOYS
Awesome
Thanks!
Never see big Talapia in such numbers! Where exactly is this ? You guys have the ultimate lifestyle
Jake Merton This is Malilangwe game reserve I’m south east Zimbabwe, thanks for the support!
Like to see more content on how you guys catch big barbel on lead heads and pumpkin lures, very effective in the Vaal and Bloemhof dams 👍
Will try and include more of that
Do u pour water in ur worm farm
Just a little bit
What weight line do you use?
10 lb works best for big breams
What is the size of the hook
Like 2cm long
I just caught my First Mozambique tilapia/Blue Kurper in Durban, South Africa today! I used a 1 inch yellow curltail grub... I got some footage as well...
Awesome stuff!
How many worms do you put on the hook
3
Hi guys. How are you identifying the species of Tilapia?
It is the number of spine one the anal fin and the colorations
where is that
South east Zimbabwe
I hope niloticus don't find their way into that dam .. I miss this kind of fishing we used to catch Mozzies and rendali as kids
Have you ever couturier a nimbwe
No I have never caught a nembwe
We always called them robustus.
Mantap bosqiu
Aqui no brasil temos tilápias perto de 10 kg
How come do you guys always catch big tilapia and not small ones
It’s hard to catch small ones in the dam
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors is it because you put a lot of worms
Those bream are ridiculous. What’s the biggest you’ve caught in there? And do they ever take small spinners ?
Brad Young the biggest we have caught is around 3 kg we think, didn’t have a proper scale though, never caught them on spinners, but have on rapalas.
Nyongoros🪱
Look like some of the mossambicus have signs of niloticus in them.
Possibly, but I think they have some greenhead tilapia and some black tilapia in them too possibly
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors yes. Definitely hybridisation going on. Not surprising with so many closely related species in an impoundment
Hey buddy,.. Learn how pilipino's catch tilapia, carp, snake head, using airgun and tiksay dart,.
Yes thanks
Try it buddy,.
Nice vid, that youngster can catch em, the other one whinges too much and should rather focus on the task.
Try bread
Thats a tilapia 😂😂😂
