I just found the neatest use for can lids. You need one of those can openers that remove the lid leaving no sharp edges. You can pierce the lid near the edge with a nail or small drill bit. Use either small gauge wire or trimmer string...then put them in your garden. I was trying to think of a way to keep the birds and rabbits out of my garden. The surprise was when the wind blows I have a dort of wind chimes too. I use bent over cattle panels hoop style over my raised beds so this worked out great for me. Just keep the wires or string short enough so the don't get tangled. This might work just to make traditional style wind chimes too. Just another way to use weird scraps and bits. I am also working in using aluminum soda cans minus the ends, flattened, joined together with wire to make a partial shade attached to the top of the cattle panels. Just a strip about 18" wide.
That rusted blade would make a great foundation to hang some wind chimes. I have made them with relatively cheap metal conduit too. Cut different lengths for different tones.

Repair/replace/refurbish/restore - create new from old! Nice knife - German or Japanese? I can tell it's a decent one by how well it cut the can. Rusty metal is cool - just not on tools/knives or firearms. See you next time......

Great idea… you can make some kind of
“ sculpture “ with the old blades and cans… or whatever metal you have… I have seen people make sculptures out of old hand tools… before.

タイトルで思い出したのですが立川にRustというガーデニングの店があります。本店は愛知のgarageという店で最近渋谷にも店舗できました。ジャンク的なディスプレイが素敵でBrückeさんの雰囲気と合う気がします。廃材を活用した庭も好きなので楽しみにしてます。
