@@TheHawkrat Indeed, it is so good, despite this not being my favourite version of MOTU. Also, Ramones' 'It's Alive' is surely a contender for best live album as it is a jaw-dropper. Whatever, Hawkwind is the topic at hand and by Christ, they were/are a good band which I will salute always. Cheers.
I took magic mushrooms for the first time and discovered my fathers Hawkwind records. Spent the entire trip listening to Space Ritual but in my drug fuelled trip Masters of the Universe made sense of the world
Shrooms and Hawkwind go good together and when the Aliens land on Earth just show em ya copy of Hawkwind Space Ritual you'll be fine they'll leave ya alone
Long beach Arena some time in the mid to late 70"s. Last song about mid way through This very healthy topless dancer comes out and the crowd just freaked. Never seen any thing like that before
Nah, they are second and third. Strangers in the night has to be first. Live and dangerous has to be up there too. Actually there are many good live albums. It's alive by the Ramones has to be on everybody list.
seen them 1999 party in nyc. me and a buddy in the balcony with the light show guy's shared a bottle of mad dog with them. gave us some speed, was so jacked we walked home couldnt take the subway
Hawkwind Uber Alles...sorry, can't be bothered to add the umlaut lol. What can I say? Legendary band - and that doesn't even begin to cover it...got into them late (mid-late 80s) but caught their show at Preston Guild Hall in 1989 afaik... phenomenal band. Their influence is simply incalculable by this point.
now we've know how all that xychodelic new wave punk rock music got started as from the late 60s to the early 70s until the built up of all that moreover futuristic electronic music continue to modernized.
no, the Spacehawks version It is a newer version of a "eletronic" space rock...On space ritual, it was still proto metal and dont eletronic space rock, which usually is more "lighter"...
Most of Space Ritual was overdubbed in the studio after the gig. You don't believe me, look it up and you'll see why that particular recording of their live work sounds so together and tight as compared to when they were actually see and heard live there on the spot. Get hold of an ORIGINAL copy of the Greasy Truckers Party which was roughly the same sort of time era and had the same people playing and compare them. The GTP is all over the place and they forget where they are sometimes, it is a mess compared with S R, but it works because there is something there that holds it all together. I couldn't figure it out for years why there was such a difference in playing quality until I read that Brock, started doing overdubs, then the rest of the band followed suit. Just like Live and Dangerous by Lizzy, nearly every note is overdubbed on that so called "live" album.
They say there are actual masters of the universe, x5 of them on earth at all times. They alone experience the world as a dream and everyone around them as their own shadows. Cool that heh.
This IS of course Lemmy and Simon King no other engine like before or since, from 'A Space Ritual Live' [As it says at the top]. Fuckin' Brilliant Often copied but will never equalled
Buddy, I put it on purpose, because I'm a great fan of the band. When listening to all versions of this song, this is the heaviest ever recorded. Finally I put the name because it is the heaviest. Go look if you find a heavier version and tell me.
...is it just me or is there no guitar...or buried way back in the mix...ok...there it..is...I think...the fast bass and blatant synth noise is really making this...goodly stranger than average.
space ritual one of the greatest live albums period.
The master of the universe live version is so frigging heavy
Best band in the galaxy
The greatest live album ever!!

Shrooms and Hawkwind go good together and when the Aliens land on Earth just show em ya copy of Hawkwind Space Ritual you'll be fine they'll leave ya alone
You can hear that trademark Lemmy bass playing loud and clear
For real bruh
I used to play bass in a band that covered this one back in 1989. It's a real workout.
Speed up, dirty sound heavy metal version - is the best! I'm charged with cosmic energy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long beach Arena some time in the mid to late 70"s. Last song about mid way through This very healthy topless dancer comes out and the crowd just freaked. Never seen any thing like that before

This whole album is a classic, the very best Live album ever released.
Baron Stephen von Bach-Paraski totally agree. Takes me back to the days when I was erm... chemically enhanced.

Thank you!!! bridge between Pink Floyd and punk....had the album when 14, and was reading Michael Moorcock science fiction...
An absolute masterpiece!
A beautiful rendition of Life x " Charged with Cxosmic Energy, has the World gone mad, or is it me ? " Brilliant and beyond

Del Dettmar. Stage front. Fuck yes! Dik Mik too. The true sound of Hawkwind.
Yeah, R.I.P. Dik-Mik.....
Always a classic track - fond memories of live gigs in Torbay :)

RIP Lemmy - a classic tune from a great musician.
Fuck Lemmy! He's just the MF bass player!
Awsome eh, the Engine with Simon King on drums

seen them way back when, Space Ritual is one of the greatest live albums recorded.
Hell yeah!!!!
Saw them many times 5 times at the old Birmingham odeon what a venue was at Liverpool when they recorded this album keep going old hawklords
Agree. Usually I don't like live albums but this is exception. There is something more than on studio albums.
Dead heat between Space Ritual and Made in Japan for best live album of all time.
Nah, they are second and third. Strangers in the night has to be first.
Live and dangerous has to be up there too.
Actually there are many good live albums.
It's alive by the Ramones has to be on everybody list.
Great finale to a truly great live album!
Masters of a Space Rock !!

.....

If this is the heavy version then you could argue that the version on the Spacehawks album is the bass version!
no, the Spacehawks version It is a newer version of a "eletronic" space rock...On space ritual, it was still proto metal and dont eletronic space rock, which usually is more "lighter"...
I said bass version, not heavy version. The one on Spacehawks has an unbelievable amount of low end. That's why I call it the bass version.
ahhh ok!!!! spoke brow!!!! And take off on hawk!!!!

ACA TOCABA EL BAJO LEMMY?
Acid🌈🐉
I love this heavy version, more oomph, which album is it off ? as from comments made its not off space ritual ?
+Alan Higgins It is from space ritual ;)
It's from Hawkwind's second album In Search of Space. Which did NOT feature Lemmy or Simon King on the rthym section.
This IS of course Lemmy and Simon King no other engine like before or since, from 'A Space Ritual Live' [As it says at the top]. Fuckin' Brilliant Often copied but will never equalled
I was there at the Sundown, Edmonton when they recorded a lot of this album .. .. best live album ever imho .. ..
On the original
I love them because Dave Brock is 17 years older then me😃😃

"softer" version (doors do not open automatically)
Whats the "Lite" version sound like?
+Jack Sprack Like Hello Kitty having a bad acid trip! :D:D
this IS the "light version"; Hello Kitty parties to this one. . .
Rubbish compared to this
@JS: Hehe good question. I did LOL & not just lol either.
Great piece of repetitive rock. Driving into deep space...
There is NO "light version" of the song on this album. Who is spreading lies?
Buddy, I put it on purpose, because I'm a great fan of the band. When listening to all versions of this song, this is the heaviest ever recorded. Finally I put the name because it is the heaviest. Go look if you find a heavier version and tell me.
