She didn't miss the start, when they first started playing she was laughing and said the beat was too fast ("Ambilis!"). She was ready to start but they didn't slow down the beat why she laughed (the band loves pranking her)
Just to add a little to what was said above, the guitarist got it and cooperated by dragging (slowing) down the speed of his strumming. Tight-knit band members would identify this "de-syncing downwards" pretty quickly. Similar to turntable DJ's who perform beat-matching (compensating the other turntable's music BPM to match the first) but ultimately, her final rythmic gesture said it loudest. It's like watching pro basketball players play.
