That tour guide was really impressive.. saw him in other vlogs too.
Yes, he was excellent, highly recommended.
Steph is so brave. love her!
She's a good foodie for sure :)
I agree 💯. And I really really hate maarte
yeah while Susan sucks .. ma arte sobra .. susan you shouldn't be here in the Philippines
@@padskiification no, wag naman. may kakaiba lang talaga tayong taste. let us respect hers. and nag-enjoy naman sila sa resto. bka d pang sya pang street food.
@J Ma Bc I can't eat offal? 99.9% of all tourists to PH don't eat that, so you're not gonna get a job promoting PH are you? Most Fils won't even eat that. Insulting people who've been nothing but positive and kind in your country.
That's what I like with this channel, they are always on the go even with the street foods..
Thanks Ted, we appreciate your generous comment. Please stay tuned, much more to come.
@@girlsontheloose1 and what can you say about my comment?
@@chefwang276 What comment? I can't find your comment.
Yay, Jian made it to another vlog! Isn't he the best? He's so nice, informative and just so genuine and I really like his philosophy. You both were in good hands and way to go on trying the balut. Nothing to it right? Calamansi is just the best too.
Yes, Jian was fantastic! I hope he sees this vlog.
Thank you for embracing our Filipino foods. 🥰🥳
So Steph is the food adventurer, we like that. Getting to be more Filipino-like. Guided tour is good, very informational but ofcourse people love to watch those food adventure that you yourself research on and just have a bite or a taste and then ask the local what is it right after you try it. That will be more fun. You can try Mercato Centrale in Bay Walk just beside IKEA.
Yes, Steph is definitely more adventurous with the food. But hang on, we have many food videos where we eat our way around Manila, and we have the funniest video yet coming this Sunday. So please make sure you're subscribed and hit that notification bell - who let the girls out?!
That’s how a person must travel, immersing oneself in the culture!!!
WELCOME TO MANILA ENJOY MANILA STREET FOOD DELICIOUS YES MAM
Thank you! 😃 Please watch the earlier vlogs from Phils, I think you'll enjoy them ;)
He’s really a good tourist guide!
He is for sure :)
Your my hero Susan! Good on you for at least taking a bite. I’ve been traveling to the Philippines since 1987 and I’ve never tried many things especially Balut! Brought my mom few years ago to meet my wife’s family and she ate it no problem! Sadly I’m not even a trier of most food anywhere in the world so seeing you grin and bear it means a lot to those of us with serious food phobias! Proud of you!
Cheers friend, though I think you mean Steph.
Oh no Steph happily tries everything. I know you were not keen on a lot of that street food but you at least tried it. Not sure if you ended up trying the balut or not. It’s the ones who are nervous aapnd still try that I admire most.
@@roundbo Thank you, it does take a bit of courage to try the odd foods. Cheers!
We went to this tour last January 2023. The tour guide Jian is very good.
We agree! He is awesome :)
I love how you make a vlog about Filipino Foods and Street Foods, it feels us Filipinos appreciated! Keep it up!❤️😍
Oh definitely, we really appreciate all our experiences when traveling :) Please keep watching and remember to sub :)

Wow, the finale: Steph is very brave! Hats off to you.
I am a Filipino but cannot and don’t like balut. Yeah, I belong to the minority
Thanks again for commenting RN, we appreciate it.
Great to see Jian getting a lot of business lately with all these vlogs featuring his food tour. just noticed you put subtitles on your vid - are people having a hard time understanding your accent 😅 love the Oz accent
Usuwe always do subtitles, but tried something different this time.
Great to taste local delicacies and with a touch of local culture...makes it more special........Have more fun in the Philippines with you....!!!
Thanks Rick, so good, so true!
Wala man lang nagcomment sa tour guide nila napaka articulate at alam niya sinasabi niya.

You girls are brave, I was born in the Philippines and I still cannot eat balut. Enjoy your adventure. Watching from Washington DC❤😊
Salamat po, hope you are well over there?
Happy to see that you're enjoying over there, so nice of you dipping through, guys
Hi new subscriber here, hoping for your 100 subs soon! enjoy your tour in the Philippines! stay safe and enjoy the beauty of the Philippines!
Thanks so much! 😊
Guys, almost all chicken internal parts can be eaten here in the Philippines. The only parts we cannot eat are nails, beak and feathers. If you can eat the rest you are safe from world famine. 😁
The "Balut" you can eat the yellow part and the embryo as well. But the white part is not edible because it's hard like rubber. The soup you can sip it. 😋🤤🤤
Haha that's so funny, but so true. We are learning that here in the Philippines. We're having so much fun. Please check our channel and subscribe, you'll love our PH videos.
@@girlsontheloose1 yes, I'll be glad to watch your videos.😎👍

Welcome to the Philippines🇵🇭...hope you enjoy your stay here...btw, just subscribed to your channel🌺🥀💞
Aww thank you so much, we love to have you subscribe. And yes, we're soooo enjoying your beautiful country.
What a way to have fun. Street foods in the Philippines make some foreigners, like you, feel weird, depending on which food is served to you. Sometimes, eating some of them is left to your discretion, although, generally, they are tasty and good. Have fun ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy your meals/snacks.
Exactly, it's about the fun, not the food itself.

If you live in Vietnam, I’m sure you tried their exotic foods . Asian countries have similarities when it pertains to cooking.
They do, and we have tried some thing. Steph tried balut there too. Not for me though 💙💙💙
Nice enjoying the filipino food dishes
Ang Galing ng tour guide 👍
You are so cuteeee!! And so bravee!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Sue and Steph~ I love to eat beef tongue either in tacos or on rye bread with butter, salt and a bit of garlic powder. Where I live up here in WI I can't find it. The local butcher said he'd have to buy a case of it and nobody has ever asked for it. So I'm kinda like stranded on a desert island so to speak. I'd have to drive like 2 hrs to be able to find a place to buy the tongue for cooking. I grew up on a dairy farm, so I am used to some of the innards of the cattle. Great video! Yummm. Pig ears in vinager are good with tortilla chips or pork rinds (chicharrones) and salsa. Crispy fried pork intestines are great in tacos.
Whoa, thanks for that long and informative comment. I can't believe you wanna eat all that. It's Susan here, I'm not a fan of offal at all, Steph can handle some though. Thanks for watching, we rally appreciate it. Please subscribe if you can as that helps us a lot and costs you nothing :)
@girlsontheloose1 I am subscribed. Your trips are like mini vacations for me.
@@alexandria8255 Thanks so much. Hahaha, and we've got some exciting destinations coming later this year.
Welcome to where you're going here in the Philippines GRAND LADIES. Be always safe and GOD BLESS.
Thanks so much!
Girls on the Loose talks like with a Eastern New England Accent very much like the people from Boston, Massachusetts. In some other countries inner parts of chicken, cow, goat, pig, etc are being thrown away but in the Philippines all of them are being cleaned thoroughly and then cooked as ingredients in different dishes. Nothing is wasted.
Thanks for your awesome comment :)
Wann try tooo looks very yummmy
Sure 😊

Thank you, yes - many happy vibes!
Pls try the Filipino buffet there and the dessert Leche plan and halo halo. Take care there and be safe always. Tks for trying the Filipino foods. Watching from USA 🇺🇸.

Thank you, what a great time we had!
It's a banana, a different specie which we call saba. It's scientific name is musa acuminata x balbisiana.
Yes, we know that it's a cooking banana, and in that case is similar to a plantain, which is also a cooking banana. Thanks for watching Gigi and helping us with our knowledge of your country. Please watch Sunset Sailing, I bet you laugh a lot :)
Thats ok to eat some street food with limitations, I only ate those if Im with my friends who loves to eat😂
I just had my lunch break and i munched on some rice and pork barbecue. Watching you eat those yummies makes me want to eat again 😁. Its good that you got a good guide. Have fun girls. I got to go back to work. I will watch the rest of your vlog later. Bye.
Hahaha thanks, so glad you dropped by, be sure to watch a few others too, especially Sunset Sailing, so funny.
Ohw my God I’m craving 🤤🤤🤤
Haha 😄
Hi girls, good that u have a tour guide someone who guides and explains. I like street foods but not all i eat. I rather eat root crops with coconut than those I dont like. At the end of the day u would not like to eat these foods because ur just a vistor, otherwise u would love them when u already live long here. Good try!
Yes, exactly. It all depends on what you ate when you were younger. In our lives we never ate offal before, so it was difficult, but Steph actually was fantastic trying everything. Our guide Jian was fabulous!
@@girlsontheloose1 you did a good try. Im an islander and im used to root crops. Now living in the city (Manila) i learned fast food foods but still i craved the food that made me grown up healthy. Thanks for coming girls !!!
@@pinoyislander4400 Yeah, we totally understand that. Island life is always healthier than city life.

You two are awesome❣

Great video I am arriving next month please suggest best place to change currency and best mobile plan for a week, any other things to take care.
Hi Rohan, we mostly used ATMs, and only once used a currency exchange place when we walked by it by accident. Most places offer about the same rate so it doesn't matter where you go. We got an unlimited data plan from Smart, they have a booth in arrivals after you pass through customs. It cost us about US$10 for one month - speed was fast and worked everywhere. Can recommend. make sure you have grab app on your phone to get a taxi from the airport as it's much more reliable than the regular taxis. Good luck and enjoy!
go go go Steph, seems you like the street food 🤣😂, chicken feet and intestine full of collagen to keep you young and as well good for beer and whisky and hope to drink with you guys when am back in my hometown Philippines, am based in Singapore apparently training the Singaporean's pilots to fly F16 fighter jets, keep going guys, love you video vlogs to watch, Enjoy 😎
Wow much respect Eddie, you are a pilot. Good on you! Thanks for watching, and for newbies in the Philippines I think Steph did an amazing job! Please keep watching, lots more coming.

Gday Steph & Susan, it’s Ron here from Sydney! So now the Aussie’s are almost complete! You guys met a couple from Melbourne and your from Brisbane! I don’t know which one is Steph & Sue but I bet the other Girls is not an Aussie. She sound like from the US or Canada. I lived in the US for quite a while and that accent is too familiar for me. Anyway I totally enjoy your vlogg guys. I’m off to Manila this week and hope to bump in with you guys one day in one of your vlogg just to say hi! Did you enjoy enjoy the taste of Manila? I wouldn’t have the guts to try any of those food. And I was born in the Philippines. Pork, Guts or Chitlins are not for me! Not even Balut! Hell No! But chicken feet yes. Because it has a strong collagen content. Filipino sweet yes but not much. My favourite Filipino dish is Chicken Adobo, Chicken or Shrimp Sinigang, Fried Boneless Bangus or milk Fish Tuna and Pinakbet. I don’t eat pork for health reason. Anyway Cheers Guys and hope to see more vloggs ahead.
Oh Hi Ron, thanks for your great comment, we appreciate the effort to write so much. Yes, we loved all the Phils even Manila haha. Manila was exciting and some parts were incredible like Binondo, Baywalk, BGC, and we liked Makati too. Steph and I are from New Zealand these days, we emigrated there 13 and 14 years ago. But Steph was born in USA and I was born in Oz. I am sure you'll love all our Phils series, please go to our playlist and watch them all, Sunset Sailing and Sing for your Food have to be 2 of the best PH vlogs getting around :) Cheers and hope to meet you one day!
@@girlsontheloose1 Gday Guys seen them all! I loved all your vlogg especially your sunset sailing! I’ve been to Boracay 4 times I loved it. Except that time when the water was really yucky! I knew Steph is from the US. My Partner is an American. We’ve been together for almost 32yrs. Travelled extensively since the 80-90 and 2019. But unfortunately I lost him 3yrs ago in Paris😔. I have been so lost & depressed since loosing him. My life was so empty without him. But I tried so hard to recover from my depression through lots of therapy and reflecting that he’s in safe place now. Anyway I will keep on stalking you guys if you don’t mind. Stalking your vlogg. BTW NZ is cool been there twice a little laid back but so safe and clean. I can’t wait to see you visit Venice Grand Canal in BGC in one of your vlogg. I bet you will get a kick out of this semi Venetian style set up in BGC. Try the Gondola ride you guys will be blown away. BGC is really cool place to visit it’s like a small part of Singapore.
