Hey Flyboy, Thank you so much for reviewing our mod! I wanted to quickly add some information regarding our roadmap, random spawns/variants, and ship selection in the first release. As you noticed, the ships in the initial release are primarily pre-built hulls as you would build them as/for players. This is reflected in the particle-heavy loadouts, designed as heavy hitters for later stages of the game. These ships, with the same weapon loadouts, will only spawn as UCN and UCV ships! We've also created additional variants of the hulls with different color schemes for the Crimson Fleet and civilian use, each with distinct loadouts to reflect their roles. Those will be released shortly as V1.01. We intentionally didn't completely nerf them, as we wanted random encounters to be more challenging. In late-game scenarios, space fights seemed too easy, and you rarely had to grav-jump out of danger. As we continue to release updates, expect a significant number of civilian ships, cargo haulers, A- and B-class reactor ships, laser-heavy hulls, and more. We simply started with the heavy hitters but definitely want to add a wide gamut of designs! Again, thank you so much for your great work and for covering our mod. - u/wizzackr
I suggest a "Junker" type of ships; ones that were pieced together from different wrecks, completely lopsided, mis-matched, and hidious. These would be Spacer ships, as it fits their scavenger archetype, there would be an almost infinite supply of parts floating out there in the form of debris from the Colony War, and I doubt anyone would be willing to sell them actual ships. I can totally see a Spacer Captain getting a group of men together, then they head to a nearby debris field and gathering parts and pieces to build a ship to go raiding with. I can even see this something of a rite of passage among them, with successful Captains coming back to gather more crew and "upgrade" the ship, either with more parts and pieces, or even entire sections of captured/destroyed enemy ships either swapped in, or bolted on to increase size/intimidation..
Awesome mod! Yo could you guys do these few ships 1. Drake Caterpillar 2. Mandolorian Razercrest 3. NASA Space shuttle looking ship Man I love this mod looking forward to future
I’m a few days late here but thank you for covering this one brotha! I’m one of the builders who was invited to build ships for this mod (u/NxTbrolin), and we’ve been brainstorming ideas every day. Updates will come with new batches of ships so stay tuned!
Coffee time! Fantastic concept, damn Taiyo variants were some of the best I’ve seen. Great job by the builders. As you stated, across the board the delivery could use some moderation and variety. May wait for phase 2 of this, but definitely on my list of could be cool. Great review, great video.
This mod is Amazing. I'm using the Mogami as my new flagship. Since I also use the Darkstar mods, I like to rebuild the interior of the ships to add the new craftable stuff from the mod, so I had to change the ship habs, but that just made it perfect. Also changed the weapons, I'm with the group that builds balanced ships, and not OP ships All the time, so I made it more balanced with fewer turrets, and some ballistics, so the ship is Very fun, and the Mogami don't actually use a lot of clipping, if compared to the other ships from the mod. I'm hyped for the future of the mod, having more ships in game and seeing them in random encounters is quite nice. Since I also use the Crossfire mod, they actually appear relatively often, so they're just part of the game lore, I love that.
Yeah particle weapons are OP, I'll usualy run with turreted fast rail guns snd turreted lasers, maybe two particle weapons to control or cannons. Thats the beauty of this game you can built a ship to fit your play style at that moment. Great looking ships in this mod.
I watched the Ship Technician video on this yesterday, and as beautiful as all these ships are, I'm staunchly anti-glitch and anti-merge. Nothing at all against people who like it, but I hate running the risk of having bugged out ship interiors, because the interior look is almost more important than the exterior to me. I'd still use this mod for immersion purposes, because it adds all the ships to the world, but I wouldn't actually use any of them myself
Just watch which ship you buy because some of them are so glitch built that it is almost impossible to modify them at your ship builder without completely changing the look of the ship Also New Homestead vendor has the most of these ships for sale and second would be Deimos
I agree with the concept you are arguing. NPC ships or basic purchase ships should not be the most powerful ships in the game. Take the Narwhal as an example. This ship does not have the best weapon arrays. But more than that, every ship with a max reactor also seems a bit much. And we saw like seven or eight out of the 20 and only one B-class. Expansion idea for this mod, make a bunch of A-class. Even make them end game A-class, and B-class, but also add some mid-tier ships. They should not replace vanilla but enhance it. This represents my opinion and other people probably have a different opinion, but this one is mine.
I already have this mod installed last few days coming across it going thru the mod store. Haven’t pulled out many the new ships as yet as I’ve really been spending a lot of time properly load list setting of all the mods which takes some great deal of time. But this mod looks to be a great framework for many future ship mods or by other creators with blueprinted ships. The Ship Vendor Framework which allows this is done they just at best have to add the ships, fix the glitched ships too. Now we can get a ton of ships of all kind and other new mods using the Ship Vendor Framework which allows this mod to be created. The crossfire mid at the end was a bit icing on the cake find. Now I have to also download that one.
for some of the high end overpowered ships they could possibly give to faction appropriate civilians and for the UC specific ships they could make Crimson Fleet alternatives like what they do to vanilla ships like the Watchdog. I can't see it making sense for Spacers flying around in souped up mega ships far out of their league
I have installed this, and have tried a few ships. 1- they are beautiful 2- they are powerful BUT- many are glitched ships. Many ships can't even be painted because they were glitched to use more power than what the game was supposed to allow anyway. Since some ships are glitched, sometimes you end up with glitches within the ships, like falling through a floor down to a lower level. Side note: I too enjoy the Crossfire mod, it has truly enhanced space travels for my playthrough.

Hi Edward, I'm one of the authors of the mod. I'm sorry to hear you had issues with falling through the floor and adjusting the paint job of the ships. However, I'm quite certain that this issue is not related to the mod itself, as we have never exceeded the part limit set by BGS or glitched any hab's of the ships. We also track all concerns and bug reports, and this has never come up before. Could it be that you are running possibly incompatible mods or approaching the max mod limit? In any case, I'll try to look into this. - u/wizzackr
Thanks for the reply, I will look into possible mod conflicts, though the only other mod I use that touches ships is TNs mod. I don't think it is a mod number issue as I am only running 13 mods.
Nice to see a bunch of cool ships. I just would rather build my own and I can do that with the tools I have. Great job on the authors' parts, but not a mod that I would get a lot of use out of.
Thanks for the great coverage of this mod. You said the plan is to eventually find these ships in the wild. Did the mod author say whether these ships would be hostile or not? Also, did he say whether we would be able to board and takeover these ships if we disabled them?
I don't believe I will be installing this mod yet, but I do see some good ideas in ship design that I just may, erm ... call my own in the near future. thx S
Not sure if this is anything but... After installing other ship parts mods, suddenly I came across new ships, one was called " Pirate Ship " and rewarded me for killing SysDef ships. I decided to attack and board this " Pirate ship " which looked very cool, ship parts I had never seen before but... when I boarded the ship, I had no doors to go through and couldn't kill the crew. What Mod would prevent the doors from spawning?
I disagree, I will say I didn't try to break down any of the ships, so I'm not sure to what extent the ships are merged. In my opinion, structural merging is ok as bethesda themselves have done it with ships. While I may personally merge stuff into habs, I don't like this type of merging on the grand scale as it looks very weird. Have they done this type of merging?

@@CrimsonFlyboy Could not agree more. That is why we did not glitch any of the interiors, they remain usable in every design. There currently is a bug with the intruder, where that is not the case (a remainder of a drop glitch), but we will fix it in the next release.
That's not strictly true. I have this mod installed and genuinely think it's great. The Ironclad especially, I fell in love with that ship...until I tried to modify it because of external parts intruding into the interior. The ship is a glitched mess, and it's not the only one. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this mod but the glitching is extreme on some of the ships it adds to Starfield.
Editing ships is a bit jank, if you select all some bits aren't connected on a few of them. Eaiser to adjust weapons using upgrade instead of edit... just in my opinion
I'm ok with them being for sale. But not with them added to encounters. They are too powerful for that. Imagine running into 2 or 3 of these ships controlled by spacers in a level 75 system. Unless you are an expert in ship combat and have an end game ship yourself, you're gonna get rolled and smoked pretty easy. Just saying.
i have come across a few of these, but they were all "friendly" factions. i have yet to encounter any of these ships on my pirate playthrough, and am eagerly looking forward to it :)

Hey willia451, one of the authors of the mod here. I completely agree with you :) Please see my comment above with regards to weapon loadouts and faction spawns. - u/wizzackr
I agree. The more ships i tear down from the mod, the more glitch/merges I see, and in many of them, they are really unnecessary. And, in my case specifically, my characters live in their ship, so seeing internal glitched pieces just breaks it for me. I am back to just making my own ships, but I am leaving the mod on for random encounters.
Every time I go to mod their ship it kicks me out of the game as soon as I exit ship builder. Would be great to add Darkstar parts. Vanilla parts suck.
Thank you so much for the Info. I have had this game for yrs *Never Played it * so i decided to play WOW all the updates since it first came out Is CRAZY. But as usual i got all of it. Man it is HUGE.

now all we need is a codex description for custom lore
FYI this mod doesn’t play nice with Place Doors Yourself by Jimsoon. It will work. But if you board a ship out in space the habs won’t have doors.

I was hoping for more variety in the ships. While the exteriors vary, most of these ships seem to all use the same components.

I'm pretty sure that if you also used the Den Astrodynamics mod . It would add all the ships from this mod to that mods ship seller .
My stroud eklund had 3 stroud based ships on that mod 🤔 they look nice too

They are all friendly faction ships but if you are in a battle in orbit and you accidentally hit one they will smoke you in a matter of minutes
4300 hour of gane play, nothing is too hard!
I can tell you nope. You can beat them with a good ship. Or maybe your player's skills is the probleme.
I have tested this mod.... the designs have waaaaayyyy too much usage of the shipbuilding glitch. Too buggy.
Do they use more than the available budget, or are they under the limit. To be fair, they are meant to fill the gaps of pre made ships.

With the perk you can have a max of 12
@CrimsonFlyboy oh ok. I thought the perk brought it up to 8 not including Sarah.
